Blaine rolled over and stared at the ceiling, perfectly content to lay there in the darkness of his room and play back the events from the previous hour. He tucked his arm under his head and smiled to himself as images fluttered through his mind of Kurt. He thought about Kurt’s smile, Kurt’s laugh, Kurt’s voice. Blaine sighed in contentment.

“Well, well, well,” a voice whispered and Blaine jumped as his head whipped to the doorframe where Rachel stood with her arms crossed over her chest.

“Rachel? It’s like twelve thirty, what are you-” His sister walked into the room, more like ran excitedly, before jumping onto the bed next to Blaine.

“I was going to ask how your date was, but judging by that sigh and huge grin on your face…” she trailed off and smiled knowingly at Blaine. He stared at her for a moment longer before letting his head fall back down face first into his pillow.

“He’s perfect,” Blaine whined, his voice slightly muffled. Rachel laughed giddily and lay down beside her brother.

“Where did you take him?” she asked, her voice soft and sincere. Blaine moved his head so he could look at her.

“We had a…picnic, out in Heritage Park.” Blaine wet his lips and smiled shyly as he thought of Kurt squirming and panting beneath him. He cleared his throat and willed the thought out of his mind, at least for the time being.

“That’s sweet, Blaine,” Rachel gushed. “I wish Finn would take me on picnics.” She said the latter a little disappointedly, and Blaine had to stifle the chuckle building in his throat. Blaine didn’t think he could hear the word picnic anymore and actually think of a picnic.

“Maybe you should take him on one. Speaking from experience, guy’s love picnics.” Rachel’s face screwed up.

“Really? I don’t know. Finn’s not really the type. I love him, but he’s more into taco trucks than French cuisine.” Blaine let out a loud chuckle before he could contain himself.

“Just because Kurt and I both like French cuisine, doesn’t mean your taco truck loving boyfriend won’t enjoy a picnic every now and then.” Blaine was ginning like an idiot, and Rachel’s brows knitted together in confusion.

“Blaine, the only French food you like is French fries and French toast.”

“Not when Kurt makes it,” Blaine said and Rachel stared at him a little longer before her mouth dropped open.

“Blaine!” she cried and grabbed one of his pillows before smacking him in the arm with it. Blaine couldn’t hold in his laughter any longer and hid his face as Rachel continued to hit him.

“What is going on in here?” Blaine and Rachel froze as they heard their dad approach and Blaine lifted his head so he could see over his arms. Their father looked like he was half asleep as he walked into Blaine’s bedroom and stared at them. “Mork called, he’d like to get some sleep and asked if you two would kindly go to sleep.” Their father rubbed at his eyes tiredly and Rachel and Blaine exchanged a look.

“Um…who?” Blaine asked and their dad looked between them expectantly.

“Mork. Mork from Ork?” Blaine and Rachel exchanged another look and shrugged. “Mork and Mindy! C’mon guys! Shazbot!” What the hell? Shazbot? Blaine had to force himself not to laugh at that one. “No? Seriously?” His voice began to rise and he looked thoroughly exasperated and disappointed that his kids hadn’t seen this show. “B, you loved Robin Williams! He was Mork before Genie. That’s how he got started. Remember? The Genie from Aladdin?” Blaine’s eyes widened and he glanced at Rachel before looking back to his father incredulously. Genie has been, and always will be my idol. How could he possibly think I’d forget the man who made me want to perform in the first place? Blaine opened his mouth to say something, but Rachel jumped up and over to their dad before he could.

“Daddy, why don’t you go back to sleep? We’re sorry we woke you up. We’ll be quieter.” She began to push him out of the room and down the hall toward their parent’s room and Blaine swore he heard his father say ‘nanu-nanu.’ Rachel came back a minute later and sighed as she sat back down on the bed.

“So, tomorrow we’re having a Mork and Mindy marathon with Dad. It was the only way to get him to go to bed,” she added when Blaine widened his eyes at her and he huffed. “Look, I know Dad’s not your favorite, but-”

“How dare he insinuate that I forgot who Genie was,” Blaine whispered harshly. “Genie was, and remains to this day, one of the greatest and most-”

“God, Blaine, I get it- he was your first crush.” Blaine glared at his sister before throwing a pillow at her head. “Ow, Blaine! Calm down!” Blaine shushed her and she rolled her eyes at him. They sat there for a moment in silence. “Did you and Kurt really…” Rachel trailed off, letting her words hang in the space between them and Blaine lay back down on the bed. He looked up at the ceiling and took a few slow breaths before turning his head to look at Rachel again.

“I really like him, Rach,” he said instead of answering her question. Blaine wasn’t ashamed of what he did, but he felt like it was something private- something special just for Kurt and him. Rachel smiled down at him and patted one of the arms that were resting on his stomach.

“I know.” Blaine smiled back and let himself relax and melt back into the mattress. “I like seeing you like this. It’s been a while.” Blaine’s smile fell and Rachel offered him a sad half smile. “Sorry. I just- I’m happy for you two. I miss seeing that smile of yours.” Rachel leaned in and gave her brother a tight hug, which Blaine reciprocated immediately. “You deserve to be happy,” she said in his ear and Blaine squeezed his eyes shut.

Rachel pulled away and said goodnight to Blaine, but he called her back after she’d just exited his room. “Thanks,” he said simply and she smiled.

“What are big sisters for?”

“Oh, come- Six minutes.”

“I’ve been in this world six minutes longer than you have, Blaine. I am older and wiser.”

“Six minutes wiser?”

“Precisely.” Blaine shook his head softly before turning to stare at the ceiling again. He thought back to what Rachel had said; it had been a while since Blaine had been happy like this. He thought back to his freshmen year at Dalton and felt a pang of sadness in his chest. He got up and walked over to his desk where his phone was perched and began to dial as he crashed back onto his bed. “Blaine, seriously? I’m right down the hall.

“Will you go with me to Westerville tomorrow?” Rachel was quiet on the other line, and Blaine knew she was basically reading his mind.

Blaine, I don’t know,” she began, but Blaine couldn’t get rid of the guilt that was pooling in his chest. He had to make the trip, but he didn’t want to go alone.

“Rachel, please?” He heard her sigh from down the hall and a second later through the phone.

You sure you want to do this?

“I haven’t talked to him in a while.”

Are you sure it’s a good idea? Kurt-

“Would understand. Look,” he said, growing frustrated, “I’m going tomorrow, but it’d be nice if you’d come with me.” The house was quiet and still for what seemed like forever until Rachel finally spoke again.

Fine. Yeah, of course I’ll go with you.” Blaine felt instantly better. “On one condition.

“What?” Blaine asked, getting nervous. Last time Rachel gave Blaine a condition, Rachel made him be the horse for her princess Halloween costume. He ended up pulling her makeshift carriage around to all the houses in their neighborhood. Who knows what she’d ask for now.

"You have to tell dad we’re not watching Mork and Mindy tomorrow.” Fuck. Blaine let out a strangled groan.

“Fine,” he breathed out before ending the call. He tossed his phone to the other side of the bed but as soon as it left his fingers he heard it vibrate and the screen lit up. He leaned over and picked it up again and saw that he had a txt from Kurt.

Thanks for an amazing date. Blaine smiled and replied instantly.

Thanks for *being* an amazing date. A minute later his phone buzzed again.

I can’t wait to go out again.

I’m ready now, if you’d like. Blaine grinned when Kurt wrote back.

God, don’t tempt me. Seriously Blaine, tonight was perfect.

I’m glad I’m not the only one thinking that. I really like you, Kurt.

Eh, you’re alright. :)

I just changed your name in my contacts

Should I be nervous?

Maybe? :)

Lay it on me

Well Kurt, you don’t have to beg. I can probably be there in about…fifteen minutes?

Blaine!

I bet you’re blushing right now. God I love it when you blush.

Not helping

It’s not *my* fault you’re adorable

You’re making this difficult

Making what difficult?

Staying here in my house

Blaine stared at that message for a moment and let thoughts of Kurt seep into his mind and override anything else.

Now who’s tempting who?

Are you ever going to tell me what you changed my name to? Blaine got the message just as had pressed send on his.

You are now ‘My Precious’

Blaine, I’m telling you this because I care about you… you have a serious Lord of the Rings obsession.

But you *are* precious! And enticing, and beautiful, and- God I would jump into a fucking volcano for you

A few minutes passed before Blaine got another txt.

I’d jump into a volcano for you too, Smeagol.

Blaine began to type out a response, but his phone buzzed again.

I’ve got to get some sleep. My dad’s making me help him in the shop tomorrow. Thanks again, Blaine.

Good night, Kurt. Sweet dreams.

End Notes: In the next chapter there will be a very special guest :)
