Jermaine had come to surprise Blaine at work and take him out for a nice lunch.

“Oh, JJ, what are you doing here?” said Blaine, running and hugging his boyfriend.

“I’m here to take you out for lunch,” said Jermaine smiling, picking Blaine up and spinning him around.

“You need to stop this; I never take you out on dates!”

“But I want to take you out, it makes me happy.”

“Come on, Blainey, let the guy take you out for dinner,” Chandler smirked.

“Okay, well I’ll just go get my stuff. You sure it’s okay if I clock off, Chandler? I’ve finished stocking the music.”

“Just go, Blaine, you’ve got one great boyfriend there,” said Chandler with a weak smile.

“Yours is pretty great too, you know.”

“Yeah, he was...” Chandler sighed.

“Was?”

“Yeah, Kurt and I split... A few months ago actually. It’s all my fault, I was an idiot anyway. Blaine, go get ready, you don’t want to keep your hot boyfriend waiting,” Chandler winked.

“Does Kurt come in here often?” Jermaine asked Chandler, when Blaine left.

“He used too, sometimes he comes in to talk to Blaine, look at guitars. He used to play guitar, did you know that? He was great, he used to teach lessons here... Sorry, rambling about my ex.”

“No, no, I understand... If I lost Blaine I’d talk non-stop about him too. You know, like if you’d like to talk or something, here’s my number; call me sometime,” said Jermaine scribbling his number on a small note card and smiled.

“Err thanks um...” said Chandler awkwardly. Did this mean that Jermaine was cheating on Blaine? He didn’t want to cause Blaine the heartbreak he’d caused Kurt too.

“Jermaine.”

“Hey, baby, ready to go,” said Blaine.

“Yeah, come on, Blaine,” said Jermaine, directing Blaine outside.

They climbed into the car, and Jermaine started to drive.

“I want you to stop working there,” said Jermaine out of the blue.

“What? Why?” asked Blaine in disbelief. “Is it because Kurt pops in occasionally?”

“No, don’t be silly, it’s nothing to do with him. Baby you don’t need it,” said Jermaine.

“YES! I do, in case you’ve forgotten, you’re not the only person in this relationship who has family issues. In case it slipped your mind I have to earn my way through life, so I can buy stuff or treat my boyfriend to something nice,” snapped Blaine.

He had begun to get fed up with Jermaine treating him like crap; he was supposed to care about him. Blaine often felt like that but then Jermaine would remind him, that Blaine was in the wrong… about everything or he’d be super adorable and buy Blaine something nice, and he’d remember that Jermaine did care.

“Don’t take that tone with me, Blaine. Don’t think I don’t know you’re still hanging out with him,” said Jermaine.

“He’s a friend, JJ. I’ve already stopped tutoring him because it upsets you! I can’t cut the classes I have with him too! You are being unreasonable.”

Then Jermaine slapped Blaine. Blaine’s cheek glowed red, and stung painfully. He sat there tears rolling down his cheeks.

“Am I being unreasonable? You had a crush on this guy for a year; I just don’t want to lose you, Blaine.”

“I’m sorry, JJ… I’m so sorry,” said Blaine sobbing quietly. He didn’t want to provoke Jermaine any further, he still had bruises from the weekend when Blaine tried to leave the cinema. Jermaine knew that violent films made Blaine feel ill.
