Saturday 8th April

Saturday arrived and Kurt was relieved to see Blaine pull up in his car.

“Hey Blaine” said Kurt smiling, Blaine returned it half-heartedly.

“Hi Kurt…”

“What wrong Blaine, you’ve been dodging my calls, ignoring my texts and E-mails… Are you mad at me for something?” Kurt was worried that he’d done something wrong, that Blaine was mad at him for something… he couldn’t stand the thought of Blaine being mad at him.

“Oh, no I’m not mad at you”

“Then what is it? Did my dad say something? What did he say? Blaine…. please tell me.” Kurt pleaded, he reached across the table placing a hand on Blaine’s arm.

“Okay… well you dad did scare me a little” Blaine admitted “He said that he knew people with guns and that I’d best not hurt you”

“Okay… you know I’m his only son and he’s very overprotective… why would he say that it’s not like we’re dating we’re just friends”

“Are we? Just friends I mean Erm… Kurt… I’ve been thinking over these past few days…”

“Yeah” said Kurt optimistically but curious…he’d been thinking about he’s own feelings for Blaine, had begun to fall for Blaine.

“Well we known each other for a long time and err… I’ve really got to know you, and well I think I’ve started to fall for you, it may seem like too soon, but I feel like I’ve known for all my life that you are the one for me… I’ve known since I first met you that you were special, that you came in to my life for a reason… and you helped me talk more about my parents, thank you Kurt, I understand if you don’t feel the same” said Blaine eyes downcast.

Kurt was silent for a moment. Processing the brilliant news that Blaine had just given him, Blaine liked him back…

“Blaine, I’ve known and trusted you for years” said Kurt reaching out and taking Blaine's hand, causing him to look up “and you are special to me and over this past few weeks I’ve been thinking about this a lot and I’ve started to fall for you too… I just thought that you thought we were just friends…”

Blaine smiled, staring deeply in to Kurt's eyes.

“So would you like to go out sometime like on a proper date?” said Blaine

“Sure” said Kurt shuffling round to hold his boyfriends hand and brush their knees against each other.

“You know, you still need to meet Nick, Jeff and Cooper, they are dying to see you…I talk about you a lot to them…”

“Yeah, if I’m meeting Nick, Jeff and Cooper then you have to meet Rachel ‘Cedes and Tina, they are like my Nick and Jeff” Kurt smiled

Kurt spent the rest of the ‘date’ drinking coffee and talking… not much had changed in their normal coffee ‘date’ routine… except the goodbye.

“Okay, I’ll call you later” said Kurt making to go to his car. When Blaine grabbed his arm and pulled him backward.

Blaine twirled Kurt around so he was facing him and looped his arms around his waist and pulled him closer. Kurt noticed that Blaine was slightly shorter his thick curls tickled Kurt’s forehead.
Kurt looked down into Blaine’s honey coloured eyes, their lips were inches from one another, but Blaine pressed a gentle kiss to Kurt’s nose, released his hold on Kurt’s waist and went to his car… leaving Kurt stood in the car lot dazed and bewildered.

Kurt was still smiling when he returned home.

“Hey kiddo, what’s got into you you’re all smiley?” said Burt laughing.

“Oh I just… had a really nice time with Blaine at the Lima Bean today…” said Kurt trying to be as vague as possible

He’ll wait a while to tell his dad about him and Blaine, maybe a couple of weeks. He couldn’t fool Carole though, though out the Hudmel family dinner Carole kept throwing knowing glances at Kurt.

“Hey Kurt” she said “Would you mind helping me clean up?”

“Sure, no problem” they stacked the dishes in silences and waited until they were in the confines of the kitchen to discuss Kurt's news…

“So what’s his name?”

“It’s Blaine… He asked me out today… we’re going out on a date soon, we’re going to talk about it tonight” said Kurt, he loved gushing to Carole.

“So, how did he do it? Ask you out I mean…” asked Carole she was almost as excited at Kurt was.

“Well, we were talking, I was asking about why he’d been avoiding my calls… and then he asked we if I really thought we were just friends and then he told me how he felt, and that I’m one of the best things that has ever happened to him, then I told him how I felt, and now we’re dating”

“Has he kissed you yet?”

“No, not yet, I thought he was when we said goodbye but he just pecked my nose” said Kurt thinking back to how it felt Blaine’s warmth up against him, and sighing with contentment.
