“Hey Beautiful” said Blaine when Kurt picked up the phone.

“Hey how are you?”

“I’m good you”

“Yeah I’m alright, I miss my boyfriend though” said Kurt

“Oh, really?” said Blaine a smile forming on his face “I bet he misses you too,”

“Well if he misses me that much he could meet me for coffee on Monday” said Kurt

“Well I was going to take my boyfriend to Breadstix on Monday for our first date” said Blaine. “Would you care to join me?”

“As long as your boyfriend won’t mind”

“I’m sure he won’t…” said Blaine pausing “you’re my boyfriend I love saying that…”

“And I love hearing it and I love saying this: Blaine Anderson is my boyfriend”

Cooper was sat on Blaine's bed making kissy faces. Then he started mouthing ‘let me talk to him’

“Kurt, err... Cooper would like to talk to you…is that okay?” asked Blaine.

“Erm… why does he want to talk to me?”

“Cause he wants to tell you how big and tough he is and all that jazz you know the older brother talk” said Blaine mockingly.

“Erm… Okay?”

“Kurt, it’ll be fine, he’s a big softie really…ow… sorry Cooper just threw a pillow at me…. here you go Coop.” said Blaine reluctantly handing Cooper his phone.

“Hello Kurt” said Cooper.

Blaine was worried now; he couldn’t hear Kurt’s side of the conversation, he hoped Cooper didn’t sound too intimidating.

“Now I’d just like to have a little chat… don’t worry, I don’t bite all I want to say is, Blaine means a lot to me, like a lot okay? So if you hurt him in any way I will hunt you down! You got that Kurt, okay, I’m sorry I’m sure you’re just lovely… well you must be or Blaine wouldn’t be permanently smiling when he comes back from your weekly coffee or when he gets your texts or e-mails… just be good to him okay Kurt… he deserves it he’s… he’s been through a lot… okay I’ll pass you back to Blaine now before he tackles me, Bye Kurt hope to meet you soon” said Cooper.

“Hi Kurt” he said as he walked to the bathroom, so Cooper couldn’t hear him ask all the prying questions. “It’s me again”

“Hi” said Kurt quietly.

“Are you okay? He’ll love you when he meets you.”

“Yeah I’m fine…Cooper is a really good big brother, very protective… willing to do anything for you”

“Kurt, are you sure you’re okay? You don’t sound it what’s wrong?” asked Blaine, did Cooper really scare Kurt that much he really hoped not.

“Nothing, it’s just…erm well my soon to be step-brother isn’t like that really… there is this guy who is making my life a living hell, he won’t do anything because he doesn’t want to lose his football games…”

“Wait what?!? There’s a guy bullying you Kurt? Why haven’t you told me? I could come and sort him out or something… I’ll get Cooper to sort him out”

“Thank you Blaine, but I don’t want either of you to get hurt, not by that Neanderthal…”

“Kurt! Please, I don’t want to lose you… I just don’t want to lose you, Kurt I can’t lose you, you… you hear all these stories about teen suicides” He couldn’t lose Kurt not like he lost Tobias; he was Blaine’s first crush.

“No, why would you lose me Blaine… I’m not suicidal or anything, and if I was I’d come and talk to you, he just really scares me…” said Kurt

“Okay, Promise you’ll talk to me please? I just don’t want to go through what happened with Tobias again” said Blaine as tears stung his eyes.

He’d really fallen for Tobias, they had become great friends in pre-school and through elementary, but his parents could afford the fees for Dalton any more so he couldn’t continue schooling there. So he parents pulled him out he and Blaine had stayed in touch and then one day Tobias’s mom phoned Blaine… he’d hung himself… Blaine’s face was damp with tears, he’d never told Tobias how he’d felt… Tobias was there when he came out to Cooper… he’d been a big part of Blaine’s life, and Blaine had lost him.

Cooper entered the bathroom and tightly wrapped his arms around Blaine, and prized the phone from Blaine’s hands.

“Hey Kurt, its Cooper again…Yes Blaine is fine...He’ll be fine in a little bit… I’m really sorry but we have to go… I need to talk to Blaine…yes we will tell you on Monday… don’t worry… everything’s fine…Blaine will text you later… okay? Bye Kurt” and he hung up the phone.

“He’s being bullied Coop… He won’t ask for help or anything…. I can’t lose him Cooper I don’t want to go through what I did with Tobias, but it’d be worse cause I love Kurt, I’ve been through so much more with him, and I’ve told him…and…and” and he was dissolved in tears again.

“He’s being bullied? Shuuuuusssssssshhhhhh B everything will be fine,” said Cooper hugging Blaine close and rubbing his back “I promise okay… listen to me, I’ll talk to Kurt okay, bring him back here after Breadstix…and we’ll tell him about Tobias… together… okay… come on, want to watch some Disney films with me…”

Blaine nodded.

“Can we watch little mermaid… you know it’s my favourite”

“Of course, it’s your choice all night”

“Thanks Cooper, you know before he said he was being bullied he said you were a good big brother… I think he really likes you”

Cooper and Blaine sat on the sofa Blaine snuggling up to Cooper, this was the only way to ebb the pain, it still hurt Blaine to remember that he’d never told Tobias… when he’d calmed down he sent a quick text to Kurt.

Hey beautiful, I’m sorry… I just had some flashbacks; I’ll tell you on Monday okay, I’ll pick you up at 6:30 from your house?

Blaine and Cooper spent Sunday planning what Blaine was going to say to Kurt, how he was going to tell him about Tobias. They went through a lot of tissues; it had been 4 years since Tobias committed suicide… Blaine was only 13 when he lost the third person who was an important part of his life… he had very few very important people left, Kurt, Cooper, Nick and Jeff… he didn’t want to lose anyone else, he couldn’t lose anyone else… he’d do anything to not let that happen.
