Saturday 25th 2009

The over the extra few days Blaine’s initial excitement ebbed, as he began to feel more nervous. He was about to meet the boy who he had comforted nine years ago, and had e-mail conversations and phone calls, the boy he’d started to develop feelings for… since it wasn’t s school day he was wearing a white cricket jumper and a straw hat.

Blaine arrived at the Lima Bean early he didn’t want Kurt to waiting for him.

“Hi, is this seat taken” said a boy, indicating at the chair opposite Blaine.

“Actually, I was wai-” Blaine looked up, from his phone and stared at the boy asking for a seat, looking into his eyes; they were just as blue as he remembered. “Hello Kurt.” he said

“Hi! How did you know it was me?” he said as he sat down at the table opposite Blaine, Kurt’s knee brushing fleetingly past his, electricity pulsating through him.

“I remembered your eyes… they’re really blue.” hoping he didn’t sound too obvious that he liked him, he didn’t want to lose Kurt because Kurt was straight, or he’d scared him away with his advances.

“Yeah… I have my mother’s eyes” said Kurt with a sigh.

“So how’s you dad doing?” said Blaine changing the subject slightly, he knew Kurt still wasn’t over his mother’s death, and he’d never fully heal but he was getting there.

“He’s doing better, still unconscious. Okay now I need to tell you something, as I said it better to tell you in person… you know how I said things are awkward between me and Finn since Freshman year?”

“Yeah…” said Blaine slightly worried.

“Well, it was kinda because I had a huge crush on him… I’m gay…” said Kurt, pausing and just staring at Blaine, his eyes raking his face. “I needed to tell you just because I know most people in Lima aren’t as open minded as my dad or the members of my Glee Club… and I just want to be myself to you.”

“Okay, wow must be awkward him half living with you now then” Blaine bit back a smile. Kurt was gay, he was officially allow to have a crush on him without him thinking he was disgusting, but the thing that remained was would his crush scare Kurt away?

“Yeah, it must be… I mean it is” said Kurt sounding perplexed

“You sound puzzled what’s wrong?” asked Blaine, he loved how adorable Kurt looked when he was confused though.

“You just seem so calm about the fact that I’m gay that’s all, I’ve not meant many people so cool with it seriously I literally know twenty three people who are”

“Well since we are sharing things… I’m gay too” said Blaine a smile tugging at his lips, he could nothing in his power to stop this one, Kurt’s eyes were killing off his brain cells, preventing him from having any control over what he was saying or doing whatsoever.

“Ah that makes sense, in terms of your reaction I mean…” he sounded flustered, there was a small glimmer in his eye that Blaine couldn’t make sense of.

“Yeah, now that we’ve got that out of the way, what would you like to talk about?”

“Erm… how are we planning to get to Pigfarts for Herman and Draco’s wedding?” said Kurt grinning.

“By rocket ship of course Mr Hummel… do you have your spacesuit, cause remember you have to wear it all the time because there’s no atmosphere on mars” said Blaine in his best ‘Lauren Lopez’ voice.

“Of course I do, and remember we have to be good so we can ride around on Rumbleroar’s back”

They both collapsed into fits of laughter earning them so weird looks from other patrons of the coffee shop. They spent the rest of the afternoon quoting Starkid; Blaine was happy to see Kurt laugh, it made his heart swell.  They had fun, they were still laughing when they were leaving.

“Hey Kurt, can we make this a weekly thing… I had fun today… Nick and Jeff won’t watch Starkid, I don’t know why, its hilarious.” said Blaine.

“Yeah I’d like that” said Kurt beaming “I like spending time with you, it’s a nice way to distract myself from my dad at the moment.”

Blaine gave him a tight hug was it maybe a little too much… for someone he’d only really met twice Blaine was really starting to fall for Kurt, when he spent time with Kurt wanted to do was kiss away his sadness that still lingered over his mother’s death and his dad in hospital. This was dangerous territory… he didn’t know how Kurt felt about him, he probably only saw them as friends, and he didn’t want to ruin whatever it was they had… this friendship meant too much to Blaine.
