Author's Notes: Time jump of you guessed it nine years :')

Sunday 24th March 2009

Hey Blaine!

I was wondering if, maybe, you wanted to go get coffee on Tuesday, like afterschool or something? You don’t have to… it just we haven’t seen each other in years, and I like to see my best friend ;)

Kurt

Hi,

You consider me your best friend? I know its been ages! You’re still that little 8 year old arent you ;) Okay errm where shall we go… Lima Bean?

Blaine

Of course I consider you a best friend, you’ve helped me through a lot, thank you so much… if you ever need any advice I’m always here you know, and sure Lima Bean Tuesday 4pm okay?

Kurt

I think of you as my best friend too, and *you’ve* helped *me* through so much too, I never really talked about my parents until I met you so thank *you* and sounds great… err do you have a cell phone… Cooper bought me one for my 17th birthday and that way I can tell you if I’m running late okay?

Blaine

Here… (419)-315-1108 and he sounds like a real good big brother… I have Finn, He lost his dad, he’s my dad’s girlfriend’s son… things are kinda awkward after Freshman year though :/ I’m glad I’ve managed to help you too, I felt kinda bad because I felt I was taking and not giving anything back.

Kurt

(614)-307-5456 that’s mine. I’ll just text you :) and he is he always looks out for me… especially when Sebastian… never mind and you have helped me so much thank you again… I love getting e-mails from you. May I ask what happened Freshman year?

Blaine

P.S. Did you get mah text?

Yes I did… and it’s more of a thing we should discuss in person :S just because you’re my friend and it’d be better in person so I can gage your reaction better then… and I love getting e-mails from you too… best part of my day really if I’m honest… and I’ve started singing again… I still can’t make it through a whole song but it’s a start… right

Kurt

Well you didn’t text me back ;) okay… well talk about on Tuesday if you want to that is? And yes that’s great progress from not wanting to sing ever again to beginning to, I’m so proud of you Kurt. Best part of my day too… will I be able to hear you one day… I’d love too, I heard many people comment on how well you and your mom sung together… they said you had a great voice. ;)

Blaine

What do you mean… all you said was ‘Blaine’ was I meant to text back… yeah it’s something we should discuss as friends… some people don’t understand. And maybe. When I’m ready, you know… You sang beautifully at my mother’s funeral… Thank You

Kurt

Blaine needed to hear Kurt's voice; he needed to tell him something he could only do by song... he quickly dialled Kurt’s number.

“Hello” Kurt said nervously when he picked up

“Hi, Kurt… erm well I have a little something for you… err well you said you felt alone when we first started this e-mail thing and well… there’s a song in one of my favourite musicals and I thought you like to hear it… is that okay… I know your mom used to sing but I just thought that this song might help or make you feel better… do you want to hear it?” He said, hoping the idea didn’t sound too weird.

“Awww, that’s really sweet, yeah I’d love to” Kurt said enthusiastically.

Blaine laughed uneasily, he was nervous he hadn’t sung to Kurt in years.

“Okay… hope you like it” said Blaine and he began to strum the first few chords.

I've been alone
Surrounded by darkness
I've seen how heartless
The world can be

I've seen you crying
You felt like it's hopeless I'll always do my best
To make you see

Baby, you're not alone
Cause you're here with me
And nothing's ever gonna bring us down
Cause nothing can keep me from lovin' you
And you know it's true
It don't matter what'll come to be
Our love is all we need to make it through

He began to sing his favourite Starkid song, he wondered if Kurt knew it, most of all he just needed to tell Kurt everything that was in this song, so he knew that’s Blaine was always there for him no matter what.

Now I know it ain't easy
But it ain't hard trying
Every time I see you smiling
And I feel you so close to me
And you tell me

Baby, you're not alone
Cause you're here with me
And nothing's ever gonna bring us down
Cause nothing can keep me from lovin' you
And you know it's true
It don't matter what'll come to be
Our love is all we need to make it through

I still have trouble
I trip and stumble
Trying to make sense of things sometimes
I look for reasons
But I don't need 'em
All I need is to look in your eyes
And I realize

Baby I’m not alone
Cause you're here with me
And nothing's ever gonna take us down
Cause nothing can keep me from lovin' you
And you know it's true
It don't matter what'll come to be
Our love is all we need to make it through

Cause you're here with me
And nothing's ever gonna bring us down
Cause nothing, nothing, nothing can keep me from lovin' you
And you know it's true
It don't matter what'll come to be
You know our love is all we need
Our love is all we need to make it through

“Did you like it?” Blaine asked he really hoped Kurt did, it was one of his favourite ever songs and it said everything he needed to say.

“Blaine that was beautiful, thank you”

“You really liked it?”

“Blaine I loved it, it made me feel happy for the first time in forever thank you”

“Okay good you’re welcome… oh and the ‘did you get my text?’ was from A Very Potter Sequel it’s a parody musical about Harry Potter… have you seen it… you should… it saved me” said Blaine earnestly… I had saved him, back when he’d lost Tobias, one of his best friends, Cooper had shown him Team Starkid… It helped him through a pretty rough time

“Okaaaaaayyy, if it’s a musical how come I’ve never heard of it… I’m kind of obsessed with them”

“It’s a YouTube musical… done by a bunch of students and  University of Michigan… there’s also A Very Potter Musical which is the Prequel but set after the Sequel, that’s the musical the song is from… would you like the links… I can e-mail you them” said Blaine, speaking somewhat at the speed of light, he’d gone in to fanboy mode.

“Okay two things Blaine 1) calm down I can barely understand you and 2) okay send me a link I’ll watch it, it sounds quite good”

“Quite good? It’s rather good. Actually it’s the best musical I’ve ever seen” said Blaine in a posh English accent, he was so glad they were talking on the phone, he’d gone crimson “Sorry… another reference there… it probably isn’t the best but it’s definitely up there”

“Okay, Okay I’ll watch it. I’m really sorry I’ve got to go now my dad is calling me for dinner… erm could we do this again tomorrow… it’s so much more fun talking to you on the phone”

“Yeah sure… I have Warblers’ Practice until five… I’ll call you then okay?”

“Okay talk to you tomorrow bye Blaine”

“Bye Kurt”

When he hung up he clutched his phone to his chest, Kurt meant a lot to him, Kurt was like his best friend, he was both nervous and excited to meet Kurt, he tried to imagine what that little boy would look like now, he’d be taller, probably even taller than Blaine himself, he’d still have the same pale skin and blue, blue eyes.

End Notes: Wasn't That adorable of Blaine... calling up and singing to Kurt? next chapter... A Phone Call but you'll have to wait until next week for that! #EvilToastieNeedsToRevise
