Today sucked! Not only did I fail the chem 2 paper that we sat last week - and Warblers was awful as usual - but Kurt stood me up. He said something had come up … which means he’s found a better option. I knew he wouldn’t stay my friend for long, no-one ever does. No-one. I’m fine with it. Yes, I’d started to fall for him and yes, I’ll miss his friendship but you can’t force people to be friends with you, and no-one wants to be if you’re a loser like me. A pathetic loser who everyone would be better off without.

Dear Journal,

Okay, so he called me again. He explained. His dad had proposed to his soon-to-be stepmom. It sounded beautiful … he took her back to the room where they met. I would do something like that if I proposed … like if I proposed to Kurt I’d do something like that. I’d take him back to the staircase where we met. What am I even talking about?! Kurt would never go for me - I’m too much of a loser, and he’s too amazing. At least he’s my friend; I really don’t want to lose his friendship. I can’t. I don’t want to go back to where I was before I met him…

Dear Journal,

Oh my god, Kurt has asked me to escort him, as a friend, to his dad’s wedding next Wednesday - isn’t that great?! I don’t know what to do though. If I go I get to spend more time with him, but he’s bound to look so hot in a suit. If I don’t go I won’t make a fool of myself, but what if he hates me for not going? Maybe I should go … I don’t want to lose him as a friend. I really think he might help me open up, maybe let someone - him, help me. I’m going! That’s it - I’ve made my decision.

Okay, so I’m NOT going to Kurt’s dad’s wedding. Wes called an emergency Warbler meeting - turns out he’s arranged an performance at Breadstix in preparation for sectionals in two weeks, and guess who’s the one person he won’t let get out of it?! I was so looking forward to the wedding; I’d hired a tux and everything. I really don’t want to anger Wes … everything would just get worse. Kurt won’t hate me will he? Maybe he could go with Mercedes. I hope he doesn’t hate me…

Dear Journal,

Kurt is AMAZING. He’s not mad at me. After his dad’s wedding he came to visit me at Breadstix. We got a drink and he told me about his weekend … apparently on Friday all the guys in his glee club (well, except his step-brother) stood up to Karofsky and he got suspended for a few weeks. Unless the school board let it slide he’s out of there - Kurt is safe and happy. Also, at the wedding Finn sang ‘Just the Way You Are’ and gave what sounded like a beautiful speech about how he’ll always be there for Kurt. He sounds like a good brother, not at all like Cooper … I wish Cooper would accept me like Finn does Kurt. He really cares about him … I think he’d do anything for him.

He’s transferring to Dalton. He’s transferring to Dalton! He’s going to be at the same school … I’m going to have a friend here at Dalton. He’ll look so good in a blazer; it’ll really show off his abs - and the trousers? Oh god, he looks great in skinny jeans, but these trousers? Fuck, I’m not going to get anything done anymore! It’s a shame he’s transferring to run away from his bully, like I did. He starts tomorrow - I can’t wait!
