Blaine studied Kurt's facial expression for a moment. Realizing Kurt was far gone into space, he chuckled. He began waving his hands in front of Kurt's face. "Hello, Earth to Kurt. Are you still in there?" A wave of fear flushed over Kurt in a second. "Oh god," Kurt thought to himself. "First I turn as red as Rihanna's hideous new hair due, then I become mute for a good minute? This kid is going to think I'm a freak." He closed his eyes, trying to calm himself down before he spoke again to Blaine. "Uh, yeah." He spoke softly at first and ended up giggling as he continued on. "I've got to go." Kurt pointed off behind Blaine and started to make his way past him.
Before he went on his way, Blaine placed his hand gently on Kurt's shoulder. This made Kurt stop dead in his tracks. "No you don't." Blaine smirked, shaking his head. Kurt knew he was dead. He sighed quietly to himself and turned back around to face Blaine. "I don't?" Blaine removed his hand from Kurt's shoulder and shoved it into his pocket. He started walking slowly around Kurt, looking at him up and down. "Well seeing as its half way into fourth period, you're not carrying any books, and you were on your phone, I say you actually have nowhere to go." He was correct. Kurt didn't have anywhere to go but he knew he wanted to get as far away from Blaine as he could. He couldn't take another minute of embarrassment.
"God Blaine, you're either a psychic, a descendant of Sherlock Holmes, or my personal stalker." Blaine of course had a quick answer to this. He always has an answer to everything. "I can pick out the obvious." Blaine shrugged, tiling his head to the side. "And yeah I'm your personal stalker." Kurt couldn't help to laugh and Blaine joined him. They stood there laughing for a few seconds until Blaine finally asked Kurt what he was really doing in the hallway. "So what are you doing besides not watching where you're going?" Kurt shrugged, looking up at Blaine. "I was roaming the halls aimlessly if you must know. It's what I do during my free period." A light bulb went off in Blaine's head and his face lit up. "Ah, free period. What a coincidence? Come on." Blaine grabbed Kurt's hand and led him down the hallway. It was like the first time Blaine took Kurt's hand on the staircase. The butterflies in Kurt's stomach began fluttering wildly and he followed Blaine.
"Um excuse me, but where are you taking me?" Kurt didn't mind Blaine randomly whisking him away but he did want to know where he was being taken. Blaine looked over at Kurt, flashing him a sweet smile. "Don't worry about it." Whenever Kurt daydreamed about running off somewhere with Blaine it only ended in one thing, and he was pretty sure it wasn't going to end like that. "This is it." Blaine stopped in front of a large, oak door. It was something you'd see out of a home dcor magazine. "I'm guessing this is some sort of a room?" Still confused on where Blaine had taken him, Kurt had gone to open the door but it was locked. "Let me rephrase that. You led me to a locked room?" Blaine swiftly moved in front of Kurt, facing the door. He dug into his pockets, searching for something. Kurt leaned forward, watching Blaine with anticipation. Finally, Blaine pulled a long, silver key out of his pocket. "I have to open it first, Kurt." He stuck the key into the hole and unlocked the door. Blaine slowly turned around and smile. "Now you may open the door."
. Kurt rolled his eyes and once again gave the handle a turn. This time Kurt was successful in opening the door. Strangely, Kurt had never seen this door or room before. It was like it was a secret room of some sorts. Kurt slowly walked into the room, observing it closely. The walls were painted a dull white. Hanging from them were framed autographed playbills and pictures of people who were strangers to Kurt. In the corner sat a vintage, ratty old couch that looked like it had been there since the 1970. A Dalton Academy sweatshirt lies on the arm of it. Next to the couch was a desk completed with a chair. Scattered on top of the desk were a few textbooks. "My own personal study." Blaine closed the door behind Kurt. "Well, my personal study every fourth period curtsey of the drama department."
Blaine moved his way over to the couch and sat down. He patted on the seat next to him, inviting Kurt to sit. "How did..." Before Kurt could finish his sentence, Blaine raised his hands to his chest, his palms facing Kurt. "How did I manage to wing this?" Blaine brought his hands down to his lap, looking over at Kurt. "I was slacking off in my Intro to Theater class. Not by my choice I might add. Just Warbler practice, taking care of Pavarotti, and the rest of classes stressed me out. I needed somewhere private to study. So my professor offered to lend me her office during fourth period for the rest of the semester and that's it." Kurt pursed his lips for a moment and squinted his eyes. "If you're slacking, I don't think I should be here. I don't want to be a distraction." Blaine panicked. "No!"
Kurt began to get up when Blaine grabbed his hand. "You really need to stop doing that." Kurt raised an eyebrow at the touch of Blaine's hand. "Doing what?" Blaine pulled Kurt down to sit and didn't let go of him. "You need to stop walking away from me. I mean, do I bother you that much?" Kurt shook his head as he simultaneously closed his eyes. When he opened them, he noticed Blaine's face change. His mouth formed into a little adorable pout and he was staring at Kurt with these dark brown puppy dog eyes. Blaine was being serious. Kurt didn't expect this from Blaine. Kurt knew Blaine as the guy who was always cracking jokes, laughing, and most of all flirting but Kurt never thought of it as anything serious.
"You 'don't bother me at all." Kurt traced his thumb over Blaine's hand, trying to comfort him in some way. "Why would you think that?" Blaine finally removed his hand from Kurt's and placed it on his knee. "I don't know. You always try to leave when I'm talking, so I'm guessing you don't really want to be around me as much as I want to be around you." Blaine's tone became softer and quieter as he continued. "And I constantly flirt with you, just like before in the hallway..." Kurt sat there in amazement. He couldn't believe what was coming out of Blaine's mouth. "I noticed you flirting back and I was going to go for it. I chickened out halfway into kissing you because I don't think you want me..." Kurt thought his eyes were going to pop out of their sockets. He felt like he was going to throw up. This couldn't be happening, could it? "But then I noticed you turned red and maybe you were embarrassed of me coming onto you in public so I brought you here…" Blaine nodded his head in self reassurance and turned towards Kurt. "I'm tired of joking and I want you to take this serious, because I am. I guess you don't pick up on the real flirting I do behind the jokes. You don't seem to notice the real me. So this is it. I'm waiting for some kind of reassurance that I'm not the only one swooning in this room. I'm right here you know!" Without hesitation, Kurt placed his hands on both sides of Blaine's face and pulled him in closely. He planted a passionate, full kiss on Blaine's lips. Before this, Kurt only imagined what Blaine's lips would feel like against his. They always looked so soft and delicious and god, did they taste better than expected. Within a minute Kurt finally pulled away, keeping his hands on the sides of Blaine's face. For the first time Blaine was red, not him. It felt great to know that Kurt wasn't the only one who was hoping for a real kiss. Kurt quietly laughed, looking into Blaine's eyes he said the only few words that came to his mind. "I know that now."
