He was walking by a classroom with two cheerleaders standing outside when one of them said, "Hmm... hey new guy!" Blaine turned and saw the pair looking him up and down. The one who yelled for him stepped closer, almost pressing her chest against his shirt and said, "You are new here, right?" Blaine nodded and she smiled and said, "Want me to show you around?" He shook his head and said, "I think I've got it. Thanks." He was about to walk away when the girl put her hand on the side of his face, bringing him back to look at her. She smiled and said, fully pressing herself against him, "No really, I don't mind. I think we could have a lot of fun..." Blaine took her hand and put it to her side, saying, "No thanks."
Thus making himself the first person to turn down Santana Lopez.
Blaine walked to his Spanish 101 class. He was surprised when he saw no one was in their seats. They were all either standing or sitting on the desks. A few were even standing on the desks. Blaine sat down at a desk in the front row. A man walked in and said, "Alright everyone. Settle down." He looked at Blaine and said, "Well, here's a face I've never seen before. Are you new?" Blaine nodded and the man put his hand out and said, "Well I'm Mr. Shue." "Blaine Anderson." "Very nice to meet you." He walked to the front of the class and said, "Okay guys, settle down." A guy with a mohawk who was sitting on one of the desks turns and says, "Mr. Shue, are you really gonna make us do stuff on the first day of school?! Isn't that illegal or something...?" "No it's not illegal, but I wasn't planning on making you do any Spanish today. So sit down! Or I'll actually make you do work!" Immediately, everyone sat in a seat.
Mr. Shue smiled and said, "Hey everyone, I hope you had a nice summer. We have a new student with us. Blaine, do you want to introduce yourself? Say where you're from and something interesting about yourself?" Blaine nodded slightly and stood up and walked to the front of the class. He smiled and waved a little. "Hey, I'm Blaine Anderson. I'm from... well, all over I guess. I move around a lot. And something interesting about me? Uhm... I sang in the choir in my last school." "Sing something." A girl in the back stood and repeated her demand. "Just sing something, right now!" Mr. Shue sighed and said, "Rachel, sit dow-" "Oh come on Mr. Shue," The girl said as she walked to the front of the class. "We need new Glee club members!" Blaine took a chance and said, "I really don't mind Mr. Shue." He looked shocked, but said, "Okay, great." The girl, Rachel, sat down right in front of Blaine and said, "Have you seen Wicked?" Blaine suppressed the fact that he had seen it fourteen times and instead just nodded. She smiled and said, "Sing the Wizard and I." Blaine smiled and said, "With pleasure."
''Did that really just happen?
Have I actually understood,
that this quirk that I've tried to suppress or hide,
is something that could help me meet the wizard,
if I make good.
So I'll make good.
When I meet the wizard, my whole life will change.
Cause when you're with the Wizard, no one thinks you're strange.
No father is unproud of yo-"
Blaine was cut off by Rachel squealing. She then started her rant.
"He'd perfect! Don't you think he's perfect, Mr. Shue? Although I must stand by my boyfriend and say Finn is the best singer, I think Blaine is perfect. I don't know if Kurt will appreciate us bringing in another guy to steal the spotlight, but we'll work that out." She then put her hand out and said, "Welcome to the New Directions, Blaine Anderson. I'm Rachel Berry." Blaine shook her hand and she started telling him about when the next Glee club meeting would be.
Blaine went through his next few classes, unimpressed that the rest of his classes failed to live up to his Spanish class. Then, he had lunch. He walked into the cafeteria, unaware that the next few seconds would change his life.
