March 2032

It's embarrassing. Blaine's embarrassed. The room is so....sterile and clinical, and yet there's a magazine rack full of porn and a DVD player – though he is pleased to note the variety of...pairings. He guesses this clinic gets a lot of same-sex couples needing their services.

But, seriously. This is so un-sexy. And the nurse, she knows. She knows what he's in here to do. The whole waiting room knows what he's in here to do. Maybe he should have taken Kurt up on his offer to come in for “inspiration”. Although, that probably would have been equally unsexy. Because then everyone would know what they were doing anyway.

He just needs to get a grip. Don't say grip. He needs to just shake it off. That sounds vaguely dirty too. This is just a necessary – he won't say evil, because nothing in the hopeful creation of their future children should ever be evil – but this is just a necessary thing that has to be done, and he can be a grown up about it and just do it, for god's sakes. He just needs to lie back and think of England, or something.

He turns the DVD player on – doesn't matter what's on, doesn't matter who's in it, or how fake their bodies look. For crissssake, just do it, Anderson.

20 minutes later, a red-faced Blaine exits the room, having left a small cup on the strategically placed tray. Please let it this work this time, because Blaine really doesn't want to have to do this again.

January 1, 2032

The 2pm New Year's “brunch” at the Hummel-Andersons was an old tradition, but a fun one. Blaine was on pancake duty, Kurt made sure the drinks were always fresh and everyone just lounged and had a good time. There was always laughing, and some singing when the hangovers didn't get in the way – though, as they'd gotten older, at least the hangovers were fewer.

At 1:30, their doorbell rang. Blaine, wiping his hands on his apron, ran to open it – Kurt was still finishing his last minute prep.

“Tina! Hi honey! And hello Grace” Blaine's grin was large and warm. He rubbed noses with the tiny girl in Tina's arms.”

“Tim's parking the car; he'll be right up.” Tina stretched to give Blaine a kiss on the cheek. “Come in, come in! We're just getting finished!” Blaine took Grace from her mother's arms so Tina could remove her coat. The little girl grinned and babbled at Blaine, showing off the grubby bear in her fist.

“Fourteen months old, and already a story teller!” Blaine cooed proudly at Grace. “Tell me more, sweetpea. What's the bear going to do now?”

Grace very seriously babbled nonsense at her Uncle – they were the best of friends. “That's right, my love, that's right. Why don't we go find Uncle Kurt? He's going to want an update on Bear as well! Come on, Tina!”

Tina grinned and followed Blaine through to the large living room. Kurt had laid out a blanket on the floor, age-appropriate toys and blocks and few books just for Grace. Kurt breezed in, having let Tina's partner, Tim, in. Kurt had a kiss on the cheek for Tina, a tickle on the stomach for Grace.

“Actually, I – well, we --- I wanted to talk to the both of you.” Tina sat on the edge of the couch. Tim sat beside her, and took her hand.

“Uh-oh. Sounds serious.”

Tina smiled.“Well, sort of.”

Kurt and Blaine sat on the opposite couch, as always, so close they were leaning on each other. Kurt put his arm on the back of the couch behind Blaine's shoulders.

“Umm. So. Well, you two mean the world to me. I don't think I would have made it through Senior year without Blaine” Blaine's eyes found Tina's – they both knew they wouldn't have made it through without the other. “And then after the accident and Mike....” Tina's voice trembled. Tim's hand tightened on hers. She swallowed hard. “You really pulled me through that. All the funeral arrangements, all the details – and then checking up on me, just being there for me. The both of you. I wouldn't have --- I wouldn't have gotten out of bed – or left my apartment– or gone to that stupid Christmas party of yours and met Tim – if it weren't for the two of you and your love.”

Kurt's eyes glistened as Blaine reached up to wipe away a tear.

“I can't tell you how much that meant to me. I can't tell you how that saved my life. And I can never thank you enough or repay--”

“Tina, honey, no. There's no absolutely no need for ---” Kurt interrupted.

“But there is something I can give you. There is something I can do for you and it would mean the absolute world to me, if you'd let me.”

Kurt and Blaine glanced at each other questioningly. “Anything, honey, anything you need, you know that.”

“It's not something I need. It's something you need.” Tina's smile was suddenly sweet and joyous. “I know you guys are talking about children – having babies. And I want to be your surrogate. Please let me be the mother of your child.”

Kurt's jaw dropped open. He wasn't expecting this – neither of them were. And they'd only just started talking about children – hadn't really talked any of it out. But he met Blaine's eyes – and saw such love and joy – and hope there. He had to admit, this was a perfect option. Kurt nodded.

Tina continued “Tim and I have done a lot of talking about it, so he's absolutely on board, and my pregnancy with Grace was textbook perfect, I know how everything's most likely going to go, even my doctor says I'm a great candidate for surrogacy – so everyone's on board. You guys just need to say yes or no.”

Blaine couldn't believe she was really offering this – and yet it was just so her. Tina, the person who, aside from Kurt, knew him best in the whole world. The one person, aside from Kurt, that he didn't have to be any particular way for. Her heart was a big as her smile, and twice as warm. One of his favorite people on the planet – level-headed, calm, seriously funny. So much fun to be around. Tina as the mother of their baby. This was perfect.

Blaine's voice was choked– he cleared his throat, “Tina, this is amazing. You're amazing. I – we don't know what this all entails, but ---- yes. Yes. Please. That would be wonderful.”

Blaine was crying. Kurt was crying. Tina was crying. They all stood in the center of Blaine and Kurt's living room, arms wrapped around each other, tears of happiness streaming down their faces.

Tim pulled away, to step back and snap a photo of the two men wrapped around Tina. “Your newest family photo.” He smiled quietly at them.

At the brunch, later on, after everyone had eaten and were lounging around, they decide to announce it to the room filled with their friends – their family.

Kurt clinked his fork gently against his champagne flute. “Everyone? We have something we'd like to tell you.” Blaine took his hand tightly.

“Blaine and I ----” he took a deep breath, his grin bursting out, “Blaine and I are going to have a baby.”

“With Tina” Blaine added with a light-filled smile. “Tina's offered to be our surrogate.”

“I KNEW IT!” Santana called raucously from the floor where she'd been playing with Grace. “I CALLED IT! THEIR SENIOR YEAR, I SAID THAT ANDERSON WAS GOING TO GET HER KNOCKED UP! I CALLED IT!”

Kurt snorted. “Yes, yes. We all heard your numerous theories about what was going on with them Senior year. None of them panned out.” He paused for good effect. “Honey, do I have to draw you another diagram...”

Everyone laughed. Even Santana. She winked and blew them both a kiss – bitchy as she might appear to be, they were her boys, and she was overjoyed to see them so happy.

Late April

Blaine and Kurt are sitting on the edge of their bed, gripping each other's hands so tightly their fingers are turning white. Blaine is staring at the bathroom door where Tina is, as if he can make it positive, just with the power of his mind. Kurt has his eyes clenched shut.

Tina calls, “Tell me again why we didn't get the pee on a stick ones? 'Cause this peeing in the cup thing, this is gross. These cups should not be warm. This is gross.”

“These are rated at a higher sensitivity. Earlier results.” Kurt calls back, not opening his eyes.

“Okay,” They can hear some rustling. “Okay, dunking now. Wait, do I dunk it, or kind of swish it around or......ohhhhhh”

Kurt's eyes snap open. Blaine's biting his lips. “Oh? Oh what?” Tina clears her throat. They both stand up as she opens the bathroom door, her face beaming, her eyes full of tears.

“What are you boys doing in January?” She laughs at their dumbfounded expressions, mouths agape.

Kurt and Blaine launch themselves at each other, colliding with an audible thud, both laughing and crying. After a moment, they both turn to Tina, whose hands are splayed over her belly, eyes streaming.

“Oh my god,” she says. “We're really doing this! We're pregnant!” and begins to laugh.

“You okay, sweetie?” Blaine asks as Kurt reverently takes her by the elbow and leads her to the edge of the bed.

“Fine. Completely fine. Already feeling a bit nauseous, which is supposed to be good sign.” “Would you like some hot milk? Some green tea? Some ginger?” Kurt is nearly fluttering in his need to help, gingerly touching her back.

Though her hands are still shaking, Tina glares at Kurt. “Okay, Hummel, we're going to get this straight right here right now. The immaculate vessel, mothers-to-be must be pure, etc etc etc – that's total crap, and we're not going to do that. I'm fine, the baby's fine – really just a collection of cells at this point – so there's no need to freak out. Everything's going to be okay.”

Tim arrived a few minutes after Tina's called him with the news, bringing bagels. He shooed Kurt and Blaine away – “Grace is with the sitter. I'll make the coffee. You guys should go back and celebrate.”It was a testament to how much Kurt thought of Tim, that he left him alone in the kitchen.

Blaine's grin never left his face – Kurt smile looked permanent. This was it. They were going to be fathers.

In the living room, Tina had her dayplanner out. “So, tomorrow I'll call my doctor to make a confirmation appointment – they won't see us until 8 weeks, but then we'll go in for all the initial paperwork and checkups. Blaine, they've already got your medical history, right?”

“Complete medical history, Rh factor determined, samples of multiple bodily fluids...you name it, they've got it.” Blaine said drily.

“Is it too early to start a registry?” Kurt's eyes were wide and unfocused – a sure sign he was already designing the nursery.

“Umm. It's really up to you guys. Some people are superstitious and don't want to register or get any baby things until after the 1st trimester is over.”

“Why?”

“If you make it through the 1st trimester, the chances of miscarriage decrease significantly.” Kurt and Blaine stared at each other. They hadn't thought of that. That there was still danger – that not everything was home-free – that they could still lose this thing that they hadn't even known they wanted so badly.

“But,” continued Tina, “I am not superstitious and we have no reason to think that this is going to be anything less than a perfect pregnancy. We're going to take this on a day-to-day basis. We're pregnant today, and that's amazing. We'll worry about tomorrow when it gets here.”

The bottom still hadn't returned to Kurt's stomach, but he smiled at Tina. “We're pregnant. You keep saying that.”

“Well, we are. It's not just me. It's us. This is a team effort. We're pregnant. Though, I have to tell you, “she grinned saucily at Tim bringing in the food, “the means of becoming so this time around were significantly less fun.”

“You should know,” Tim added in a mock whisper, “Tina gets a little punchy when she's pregnant. She cracks a lot of bad jokes – a lot puns. It's best just to laugh and nod your head.”

Kurt sighed. “I think that might be to Blaine's undue influence and I must apologize to you for that.” Tina and Blaine both whacked him with a pillow. “You see, I left them alone together for far too long.”

Blaine whacked him again. “Undue influence, my ass. Just because someone else shares my love of witty repartee and appreciates my comic genius. Noooooo, no tickling Kurt!”

Tina laughed loudly, shaking her head at the two of them, now rolling on the carpet, firmly entrenched in a tickle-fight. “You guys are still 17. And I love you.”

“Love you too, Eena” Blaine managed to gasp from where he was temporarily pinned.

“I never get the chance to ask – what's up with “Eena?” Tim carefully avoided the rumpus on the floor to curl up next to Tina on the couch with a mug and a bagel.

“That was Senior year,” Blaine was breathless with laughter, warily eyeing his husband, now back on the couch, to see when – not if – he was going to pounce again. “Senior year, on the AP History fieldtrip – no, on the bus on the way back from it – we were both so tired – we'd been awake for nearly two days – and we were sitting together on the bus--”

“-- like we always were” Tina interjected.

“-- talking and laughing –“

“-- like we always were”

“and it just popped out – Eena” he wrinkled his nose at Tina. “And it just fit. My little cutsey pet name for her.”

“Only, I had objections –"

“-- like she always did,” muttered Kurt to Tim, who laughed.

“-- and only agreed to its “cutesy” use if I could call him something “cutesy” that he equally disliked.”

Kurt nodded, “To this day, Tina's the only one who can call him 'Blainers' and he'll answer. Not even me.”

“So, we were just Eena and Blainers. Blainers and Eena. Just weird. And goofy.”

“Like us!” Tina giggled and joined Blaine on the floor, snuggling up against his shoulder.

“You'd be surprised at the number of people who were actually convinced they were secretly shagging.” Kurt noted. “The two of them were shockingly schmoopy with each other --”

“What do you mean “were””, Tim smiled fondly at Tina and Blaine cuddling. “But, it's good. It's good to see her so happy.”

“It's good to see them both so happy.” Kurt replied.
