Author's Notes: So this is the second chapter; I uploaded it the next day because I've nothing better to do with my life.Hope you enjoy it.

"So," Kurt begins; sipping from his drink; across from Blaine who's sipping his ever so gently. "What brings you to Lima – of all places? Based on your family and your house; you seem pretty wealthy."

Blaine shrugs, "I guess it's because my family's the type of family who like the peace and quiet. Yeah, we've got money but that doesn't mean we have to live in penthouses overlooking the city with maids and butlers on their knees before us shouting if you want your bath ran with added bubbles or if you want your breakfast in bed to be pancakes with maple syrup or yogurt with raspberries and mango."

Kurt giggles slightly, hiding it behind his cup.

"But I think the main reason why we moved here was because of my chair. My Mom and Dad were constantly worrying about me when we lived in the city. With all the cars; black ice when it was winter and of course, the people. The busy people who didn't care if you were blind; handicapped or homeless – as long as they were getting to where they needed to be; everything was peaches and cream."

Kurt nods, "Where did you live before?"

"New York," Blaine sighs.

"New York? New York?" Kurt splutters, slightly choking on his coffee.

"Yes...why so shocked?"

"Because it's New York. My God, you could have died! What with all the business and constant shoving, just-"

"Hey, Kurt," Blaine giggles; gently placing his hand over Kurt's on the table, "That's why I moved remember?"

"You're right," Kurt exhales, relaxing back into his chair. "Sorry about my worry. I just get a little protective over my friends." He says sheepishly.

"Don't worry about it, I'm used to it." Blaine smiles warmly, making Kurt feel gooey on the inside.

How one little hobbit of a boy in a wheelchair could make someone feel on Cloud Nine in a little more than week of knowing them, Kurt does not know but Blaine was a master at it.

Kurt does nothing but stare.

He stares at the boy across from him.

Is this what having a good friend feels like? Surely not because he would of felt something like this with Mercedes or Rachel; but maybe, this is what having a best friend feels like...couldn't it?

Kurt knows it's crazy; they only met two weeks ago but still; there was something about Blaine that just made Kurt turn into mush on the inside.

"You're like peas and carrots..." Kurt's conscience confides. "You're orange and he's green."

"Just shut up!" Kurt suddenly snaps at his conscience; not realising he had said it out loud.

Blaine looks up, bewilderment and confusion etched upon his brow, "You don't like the sound of a bucket list? They are the most amazing thing in the world!"

"Oh," Kurt says, unaware that he had blanked out. Damn Blaine with his cherub baby looks. "Bucket lists sound awesome, I don't have one personally because I know I'll eventually not come around to them because I'd keep changing my mind and so on, so forth."

Blaine giggles, "I have one. It's really stupid and I know most won't come true but still, I can dream can't I?"

"Oooh!" Kurt coos, "Let's take a look!"

"No!" Blaine laughs.

"Aw, come on! You're the one who bought it up! You can't not show me now!" Kurt says, his eyes wide and glistening with excitement.

"Ergh, fine. But don't make fun of me!"

"I'd do nothing of the sort, sweetie."

There's that word again.

Sweetie.

The word that makes Blaine feel like he is sitting across from someone who he's know for so long, someone who he knows will be in his life forever.

Sweetie.

It's such a simple word yet it could mean so much to someone.

Especially the way Kurt says it; with that hint of tease at the end; the one that makes Blaine's legs feel like jelly – well he's sure they would if he could feel them.

"Earth to Blaine?" Kurt drawls.

"Oh, yeah, sure," Blaine says, digging into his pocket and revealing a crumpled piece of paper with seen scribbles and marks. "Don't laugh at me."

"Come on, you know I wouldn't." Kurt beams; taking the paper from Blaine's fragile yet rough fingers.

"Number one," Kurt reads aloud; trying to make Blaine as embarrassed as possible.

"Sing a song really loud in a public place. Well, that's fun!"

"No, Kurt, it's really embarrassing and-"

"I been sleeping for forty days, and I know I've been sleeping 'cause this dream's too amazing!" Kurt suddenly screeches at the very top of his lungs, causing the majority of The Lima Beam to face the boys' direction.

"Oh my God, stop it!" Blaine hiding his face in his hands.

"She's got gold doorknobs where her eyes used to be, one turn and I've learned what it really means to see..." Kurt shouts again; raising his eyebrow, silently asking for Blaine to join in.

Blaine rolls his eyes, but eventually joins in,

"Ah – It's the magical mystery kind! Ah – must be a lie. Bye, bye to the too good to be true kind of love, Oh – I could die. Oh now I can die."

The boys' voices mingle and dance around each other so effortlessly. This startles both boys as they slowly fade out to inform the public that their explosion has finished.

"Sing a song really loud in a public place? Check!" Kurt grins wildly; breathlessly as he takes out a pen from his bag and draws a tick next to the first point.

"You're so crazy!" Blaine laughs; still coming to terms with what they had just done.

"You loved it."

Blaine shook his head, "No..."

Kurt gives him a sceptical look to which Blaine replies with a rumble of laughter.

"I loved it, thank you!"

"No problem Blaine, that's what friends are for."

Blaine grins; his eyes glisten with excitement.

"Do you want to get out of here and carry on with some more buckets?"

"Boy, would I?" Blaine laughs, wheeling himself out from the chair after Kurt's up and ready to push him along.

"This is so exciting." Blaine squeals as they exit the coffee shop.

Kurt grins to himself. Yep, this is what having a best friend feels like. He's know that for definite.

End Notes: The song they sing is '40 Daydream' by Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros - just in case anyone wants to listen to my amazing taste in music;)Feedback is always grateful.
