*Elizabeth's P.O.V*

She was beyond excited; her dad had gotten them a gig at their favorite coffee shop ‘Cup –a-Joe'. Blaine had taught her how to sing and play guitar when she was 6. They've been playing together ever since. But they have never had an audience before, so she was nervous too.

Daniel said that she would be fine and she believed him.

“I'm just so nervous Danny! What if I mess up? What is I forget to sing?!?” Danny just gave her a look.

“What? Oh, wait! I'm sorry we can't all be glee club superstars!” Elizabeth looked hurt.

“Lizzy, sweetheart, I tried to get you to join. So that one is on you.” He joked. It was obviously the wrong thing to say.

“Baby, look at me. You know you are amazing and you are going to kill it up there with your old man. And I'll be there, in the crowd, cheering for you. You are going to blow us all away.” He looked are her and then leaned in to kiss her. She broke away from the kiss and just wrapped herself in his arms.

“I love you.” Daniel looked down at his girlfriend.

“I know. I love you too. Now we need to get you back to your dad so we can all head down to the shop.” He lifted her up, spun her around, and kissed the top of her forehead.

“Okay, goober. Let's go.” She said through giggles.

*Blaine's P.O.V*

‘Where is she? We have 10 minutes until we have to be there!' Blaine thought to himself. Today was the first time in forever that he would be singing in front of an audience again. He was just relieved that he would have Lizzy by his side through it all. Sebastian was also coming to see them, so that helped too. He and Sebastian have been dating for about 1 month, but it hadn't gotten too serious yet. They haven't made it past hand-holding and cuddling. Bastian was fine with it, because he knew about the past. He knew about Kurt, and what he had done to Blaine and Lizzy; and he hated it.

“Hey daddy!” Elizabeth exclaimed, while letting go of Daniel's hand to run into her father's arms. Blaine let his little girl in and hugged her before responding.

“You're running late.” Lizzy looked up and explained.

“I was flipping out and Daniel was calming me down. I didn't mean for our walk to talk that long.” Blaine looked to Daniel, then back to Elizabeth.

“It's okay sweetheart. Let's get going.” They all walked inside to grab the guitars and sheet music that required the piano.  Then they set out on the 5 minute walk from the apartment to the coffee shop.

Once they arrived, Blaine handed Daniel his guitar and headed to the bathroom to put some cold water on his face. He was beyond nervous. While he was washing his face, Sebastian came in and asked.

“Are you okay, babe?” Blaine looked up and nodded. Sebastian didn't believe him.

“I know when you're lying to me. What's wrong?” He reached over, turned off the water and handed Blaine a paper towel.

“I'm just nervous as hell. What if I mess up and let Lizzy down? You know I haven't been in front of a crowd in 20 years!” Blaine exclaimed, his voice slightly rising. Sebastian just took the shorter man in his arms and rubbed his back.

“Listen, you are amazing and you are going to be perfectly fine up there. Breathe. You got this; I believe in you. Now go warm up with that daughter of yours.” Blaine looked up and nodded, then left the bathroom.

*Kurt's P.O.V*

‘Ugh I forgot how much I hate flights.' He thought to himself after he landed. This was the first time in 18 years that he would be back in the city. He hoped and prayed that Blaine had moved somewhere else, because the chance of running into him near a theatre was extremely high.
18 years ago, he left his ex and daughter. He felt underappreciated and over worked.  Blaine was never home and he suspected that he was having an affair. But he never talked to Blaine about any of this. He just packed up his bags and left. A year later he filed for a divorce, married Elliot, and moved to L.A. with his band. He was shocked to have gotten the role in the musical, but he was thrilled, until he remembered who he left in the city. Kurt often thought about his daughter and if she knew about him. Did Blaine even keep her? Was she even alive? Okay, those are terrible things to be thinking about, but he couldn't help it. He hadn't thought about it until he had landed in NY.

‘God, I need a coffee.' Kurt complained. He pulled out his phone and looked up the nearest coffee place.

‘Cup-a-Joe is only a few streets away, I can walk it.' He thought, as he started off in the direction of the shop. It took him 10 minutes, but he made it and ordered his coffee. While he was waiting, he heard someone clear their throat and speak.

“Good afternoon everyone. Thank you all for coming. Uhm this is my first time preforming, so I hope you enjoy it. Anything you want to add, daddy?” Kurt got his coffee and turned to see who was preforming.

“Sure. Okay guys, we are covering a few songs that really hit home for us, but next time we'll have some original songs. You ready sweetheart?” He could NOT believe his eyes. Blaine Anderson, his ex-husband of all people. He contemplated weather or not he should leave, or sit down. His curiosity got the better of him, so he went and found a table he hoped would keep him out of Blaine's view. As he sat down, the music began and Blaine's voice filled the café.

*Blaine's P.O.V*

Ive been roaming around
Always looking down at all I see
Painted faces, fill the places I cant reach
You know that I could use somebody
You know that I could use somebody

Blaine looked up from the piano to watch his daughter sing.

Someone like you, and all you know, and how you speak
Countless lovers under cover of the street
You know that I could use somebody
You know that I could use somebody

He scanned the crowd to see where Sebastian and Daniel were sitting. Once he saw them, he looked back to Elizabeth and came back in.

Someone like you
Someone like you

Off in the night, while you live it up, Im off to sleep
Waging wars to shape the poet and the beat

They came in together and their voices fit perfectly.

I hope its gonna make you notice
I hope its gonna make you notice

Blaine saw Elizabeth turn to him, then back to the crowd. She looked at home.

Someone like me
Someone like me

Someone like me, somebody
Im ready now
Im ready now
Im ready now

Im ready now
Im ready now
Im ready now
Im ready now

Im ready now

Ive been roaming around
Always looking down at all I see
Painted faces, fill the places I cant reach

You know that I could use somebody
You know that I could use somebody

Once the song was over and the clapping has stopped, they started with their next song choice. Scanning the crowd quickly again, he saw a face he had hoped he would never see again. Kurt Hummel had the nerve to watch them. Apparently, Elizabeth noticed her dad tense up, so she walked over to him and asked if he was okay. He nodded, and then began.

When the days are cold

And the cards all fold

And the saints we see

Are all made of gold

When your dreams they fail

And the ones we hail

Are the worst of all

And the blood's run stale

 I wanna hide the truth

I wanna shelter you

But with the beast inside

There's nowhere we can hide

No matter what we breed

We still are made of greed

 This is my kingdom come

This is my kingdom come

When you feel my heat

Blaine looks at Kurt and makes eye contact.

Look into my eyes

It's where my demons hide

It's where my demons hide

Don't get too close It's dark inside

It's where my demons hide

It's where my demons hide

At the curtain's call

Its the last of all

When the lights fade out

All the sinners crawl

So they dug your grave

And the masquerade

Will come calling out

At the mess youve made

Dont wanna let you down

But I am hell bound

Though this is all for you

Dont wanna hide the truth

No matter what we breed

We still are made of greed

This is my kingdom come

This is my kingdom come

When you feel my heat

Look into my eyes

It's where my demons hide

It's where my demons hide

Don't get too close It's dark inside

It's where my demons hide

It's where my demons hide

They say its what you make

I say its up to fate

Its woven in my soul

I need to let you go

Your eyes, they shine so bright

I wanna save that light

I cant escape this now

Unless you show me how

When you feel my heat

Look into my eyes

It's where my demons hide

It's where my demons hide

Don't get too close

It's dark inside

It's where my demons hide

It's where my demons hide

Blaine stands up and says;

“Okay guys, we have two more songs for you. But it's up to you which order we sing them in.” He looks over at the set list, and then looks back to the crowd.

“Your choices are ‘Wake Me Up' or ‘Let Her Go'.” The crowd all yells at once, but Blaine sees Daniel raise his hand, so he hushes the people and point's to him.

“You, sir. Which one?” Daniel laughs at him, then responds;

“'Let Her Go'” Blaine winks at him then turns to Lizzy.

*Kurt's P.O.V*

‘Fuck, he saw me. And did he really just wink at a boy that looks like his is no older than 18? What?' Kurt thought to himself. He wondered if Blaine had moved on, and if so, with whom?

*Blaine's P.O.V*

Blaine looks to Elizabeth, and then starts strumming along with her.

Well you only need the light when its burning low
Only miss the sun when it starts to snow
Only know you love her when you let her go

And you let her go

Staring at the bottom of your glass
Hoping one day youll make a dream last
But dreams come slow and they go so fast

You see her when you close your eyes
Maybe one day youll understand why
Everything you touch surely dies

But you only need the light when its burning low
Only miss the sun when it starts to snow
Only know you love her when you let her go

Only know youve been high when youre feeling low
Only hate the road when youre missing home
Only know you love her when you let her go

Staring at the ceiling in the dark
Same old empty feeling in your heart
Cause love comes slow and it goes so fast

Well you see her when you fall asleep
But never to touch and never to keep
Cause you loved her too much and you dive too deep

Well you only need the light when its burning low
Only miss the sun when it starts to snow
Only know you love her when you let her go
Only know youve been high when youre feeling low
Only hate the road when youre missing home
Only know you love her when you let her go

And you let her go
Oh oh oh no
And you let her go
Oh oh oh no

Cause you only need the light when its burning low
Only miss the sun when it starts to snow
Only know you love her when you let her go
Only know youve been high when youre feeling low
Only hate the road when youre missing home
Only know you love her when you let her go

Only know youve been high when youre feeling low
Only hate the road when youre missing home
Only know you love her when you let her go
And you let her go

Blaine looked around and everyone was in tears, including his daughter. He stood up off his stool and went over to hug her. She held on to him tightly, and he rubbed her back.

“You are amazing, darling.”

“Thanks daddy. You are too.”

“You ready?”

“Can I cover the piano part?”

“Of course” He kissed the top of her forehead, and then moved up to the front mic. He looked back to her, and she started play while he started singing.

Feeling my way through the darkness

Guided by a beating heart

I cant tell where the journey will end

But I know where to start

They tell me Im too young to understand

They say Im caught up in a dream

Well life will pass me by if I dont open up my eyes

Well, thats fine by me

So wake me up when its all over

When Im wiser and Im older

All this time I was finding myself

And I didnt know I was lost

So wake me up when its all over

When Im wiser and Im older

All this time I was finding myself

And I didnt know I was lost

I tried carrying the weight of the world

But I only have two hands

I hope I get the chance to travel the world

But I dont have any plans

I wish that I could stay forever this young

Not afraid to close my eyes

Lifes a game made for everyone

And love is the prize

So wake me up when its all over

When Im wiser and Im older

All this time I was finding myself

And I didnt know I was lost

So wake me up when its all over

When Im wiser and Im older

All this time I was finding myself

And I didnt know I was lost

I didnt know I was lost

I didnt know I was lost

Feeling my way through the darkness

Guided by a beating heart

I cant tell where the journey will end

But I know where to start

Once they finished, everyone was on their feet applauding the duo. Elizabeth ran up to her dad and hugged him, then ran off the stage to hug Daniel. Blaine took that as his cue to thank everyone.

“On behalf of my daughter and I, thank you! Have a nice day!” He looked around and saw Kurt was still staring at him. He needed to find out why the hell he was here, only worried he wanted to take his daughter away from him.

*Elizabeth's P.O.V*

She ran and jumped into Daniel's arm and held on like her life depended on it.

“I told you that you were going to be perfect!” Elizabeth looked up at her boyfriend.

“Okay, okay fine. You are right, just this once.” Daniel smirked at her.

“I'm going to need that in writing.” Elizabeth rolled her eyes.

“I'll be back.” She kissed him. “Love you!” She walked off, so Daniel yelled back.

“Love you too, baby.”

Once Elizabeth was back on the stage, she noticed her father was packing up quickly and then running off. What the hell was going on?
