Kurt turns around at the sound of his name and he can’t really believe it when the boy with the hazel eyes - the one with the smirk, the curls and the motorbike - is walking towards him from across the hall. The bell has already rung and people are hurrying away to their last lesson of the day.
“How do you know my name?”, Kurt asks and puts up his usual faade as soon as the boy stops in front of him. And he is really close, isn’t he? All up in Kurt’s personal space. And Kurt notices, how can he not when the boy is so close, that there is a slight height difference between them. A high difference in his favor. It is not much though, but the other boy is actually a bit shorter than himself, and somehow this makes Kurt regain a bit of his confidence, makes him straighten.
“How do you know my name?”, he repeats, forcing himself to not back away.
“I asked someone.”, the boy answers simply, tilts his head to the side without breaking eye contact and-
Wait what? Had he asked someone for Kurt’s name?
“So did you want something?”, Kurt asks, and he hopes it is with a superior and uninterested tone, even though it is hard to tell if he succeeds. Because Kurt can’t fully concentrate on what is happening since the other boy really is close, he thinks, extremely close. And it makes his heart pound in his chest.
“No, not really.”, he says, and there is a pause. “I was going to compliment you, but then I realized you probably already know. Know how good those jeans make your ass look when you wiggle it past the other boys in the hallway.”
And there the smirk is again and Kurt can’t do anything but stare, mouth agape, as the boy walks away.
Later Mercedes tells him it is true, the new guy is indeed a transfer from Dalton Juvenile Hall. Whether or not he has killed someone is however still unclear.
“His name is Blaine Anderson.”, she says. “He’s in our year.” And Kurt should probably say something then, but doesn’t tell her he has already talked to him. To be honest he is not even sure it actually happened, it might as well have been a dream. A very strange and surreal dream, he decides.
