On Monday Cooper insisting on driving Blaine to school claiming he wanted to see Blaine’s school but he really had a different motive.
“Kurt! Wait up!” Cooper called seeing his brother’s ex-beau walking down the hall.
Upon hearing the unfamiliar voice calling him Kurt sped up.
“Kurt!” Cooper called again jogging to catch up with him.
“Oh hi.” Kurt said when he saw who it was calling after him.
“I want to talk to you for a second.”
“Ok, about Blaine I presume.”
“Of course.”
“I doubt I could stop you so go ahead.”
“I just wanted to thank you.”
“Thank me?”
“Yeah, Blaine and I…we aren’t close in age but we were always pretty close when he was growing up. But then…um…did he tell you about camp?” Cooper paused, Kurt nodded. “Ok, well camp changed him, he became so introverted and I…I just didn’t know how to talk to him anymore. He changed so much, I barely recognized him and we lost touch. But then he met you and when he called me to ask how to win you back I had a feeling he was the old Blaine again. When I got here this weekend I saw that I was right, so thank you for giving me my little brother back Kurt.”
“I don’t think I did anything.”
“But you did Kurt. He’s used to people seeing who he is and rejecting him because of it, you saw who he is and wanted to be with him. I know you two aren’t together anymore but you still gave him his confidence back.”
“Did he tell you why we broke up?” Kurt asked biting his lip.
“Yeah, I mean I know he left something out but he told be the basics that a homophobe made you.”
“Then you know there’s no point asking me to get back together with him, not while we live here.”
“Did you hear me ask you to take him back?”
“Well, no.”
“Look Kurt, I’m sure you are a great guy and I know Blaine thinks the world of you. And yeah you’ve done a lot of good for him but I’m not here to ask you to take him back. I came here to thank you for everything you’ve done for him and to tell you that I understand why you want to wait but if you take too long it might be too late because while it won’t be right away eventually he will move on and find someone else.”
Kurt looked at Cooper in shock; he knew that Blaine was wonderful and gorgeous and that he could probably have any gay guy he wanted but it never occurred to Kurt that one day Blaine might actually want someone other than Kurt.
“What I’m trying to say Kurt is you need to decide if you want him or not before someone else takes away your option. If you don’t want him then honestly that’s your loss but if you do want him then go after him, don’t let the bullies win Kurt.”
“Thank you Cooper.”
“Anytime Kurt.”
