I finally was able to work through the block I was having with this chapter! Yay!
“Yes you did.” Kurt insisted as the couple headed back to his hotel room. “I’ve been getting a gift every day since the tour resumed, they have to have been from you.”
“I’m telling you I haven’t sent you anything, maybe I should have but I’ve been so busy with NYADA and getting ready for Columbia. Maybe your dad has been the one sending them?”
“No. They all had a card that read ‘love your soulmate.’”
“Ok…ok, someone has been sending gifts on my behalf...which I guess is sort of sweet in a messed up way… Maybe it was Cooper?” Blaine offered.
“Maybe what was Cooper?” the aforementioned man asked entering the room.
“Did you send me all those gifts?” Kurt asked.
“Nope, that was all Blainey.”
“No it wasn’t.” Blaine informed his brother.
“What?”
“I didn’t send any of the gifts.”
“Who did then?”
“That’s the million dollar question.” Kurt piped up.
Blaine picked up the journal that Kurt put all the cards in and started flipping through it.
“Umm…all these cards are in the same hand writing.” He observed causing the others to look at him. “If someone was ordering the items from local businesses the cards would be in the handwriting of whoever filled the order. Which means they should all be in different handwriting.”
“Fuck.” Kurt muttered. “How did I not notice that?”
“You probably never looked at them all at once.”
“Are you saying what I think you’re saying?” Cooper asked.
“What I’m saying is…” Blaine started but Kurt interrupted.
“I have a stalker.”
“I could be wrong, I’m not a handwriting expert by any means but in all honesty I think we need to contact the police.”
“Oh god.” Kurt put his head in his hands. “This can’t be happening.”
Blaine called the police and convinced them to send an officer to take the report instead of Kurt having to go to the police station, they had evidence at the hotel room that Blaine reasoned it would be best if they didn’t touch it any more than necessary.
When the officer arrived Kurt told him all about the presents and how they were showed up on every stop of the tour. He then handed the officer the book with the cards.
“Mr. Hummel, all these cards say they are from your soul mate. I really don’t see the problem.” The officer said putting the book down.
“The problem is that Blaine here is my soul mate and he didn’t send me any of these things.”
“Is that a fact?” The officer asked.
“It is.” Blaine confirmed.
“Ok then. Do you have any idea who could be sending you these items? Any past lovers who you thought could be your soul mate or anyone who thought they were your soul mate?” the officer asked.
“I never thought I had a soul mate before I met Blaine and I know my ex-boyfriend doesn’t think I’m his soul mate. I’ve been racking my brain and I haven’t been able to come up with who it could be.”
“Ok, tell me about the day you got the first gift, what happened that day, what did you do, who did you talk to?”
“We did a show…it was all pretty normal….oh! except there was a guy who waited outside the stage door for me. He was harmless though.”
“Did you talk to him?” the officer asked, Kurt nodded. “What about?”
“He thought he was my soul mate but I set him straight…oh god it’s him isn’t it?”
“He seems to be the most likely suspect at this point. What was his name?”
“um….Adrian? no Adian. It was Adian.”
“Ok and his last name?”
“He never told me.”
“In all honesty I think he’ll get bored and leave you alone when you leave Texas, I don’t think he’ll follow you past state lines.”
“He already has, it started in Arizona.”
“I see. In that case this is a matter for the FBI, I’ll send them a copy of the report we started here today. I will need a copy of your soul mate certificate for the file.”
“We don’t have one.” Blaine told the officer.
“Alright, just contact the testing facility you went to and have them send me a copy.”
“Actually we never took the test.”
“You should have mentioned that from the start. For all we know this is just a case of one soul mate trying to romance the other.”
“No. Blaine is my soul mate not Adian!”
“Unless you have a certificate that states that you two are soul mates then there really is nothing that can be done. I can still pass the file on to the FBI but without his last name and proof he isn’t your soul mate there is nothing we can do.”
“Is there a testing facility nearby?” Blaine asked the officer.
“We agreed not to get the test done Blaine.” Kurt reminded his soul mate.
“Because we didn’t need to do it, but if getting it done is the only way to keep you safe from some crazy stalker then of course we’re going to do it Kurt.”
Kurt turned to the officer. “You’re certain that the FBI won’t do anything without the certificate?”
“I don’t think even with the certificate there’s much they can do at this point however, if you have the proof you aren’t soul mates with this Adian character then maybe it will get him to stop. And if not then it will make any future case against him all that much stronger.”
“Ok, I guess we’re going to go get the test done.” Kurt sighed.
