Blaine hoped he’d be able to pay attention in his class this morning, the prof was notorious for giving extremely hard exams, Blaine had even heard about people leaving the examination room in tears, apparently last year someone even threw up, so he knew that if wanted to do well he couldn’t afford to zone out in class, he did record the lectures but he couldn’t ask questions while listening to a recording. He got to class a bit early and placed his recorder on the front desk with all the others and then took his seat in the middle row.
“Morning Blaine.” His seatmate, Alex, greeted him.
“Morning Alex.”
“Sorry I bailed on you yesterday, something came up.”
“No worries, I got a lot of studying done on my own & caught up with an old friend.” Blaine couldn’t help the way his face lit up at the thought of Kurt.
“An old friend, huh? Would this be an old sex friend?”
“Alex!”
“So that’s a yes.”
“It was my ex.”
“Uh, your ex who you aren’t over.”
Blaine nodded, there was no point lying Alex didn’t know Kurt.
“So tell me all about her, is she gorgeous?”
“Um…Alex I’m gay.”
“So tell me all about him, is he gorgeous?”
“Yes he is. His name is Kurt and he is…he’s just amazing…”
“So why did you two break-up?”
“Because I’m an idiot.”
“Good morning class.” The professor’s deep voice boomed as he took his place at the front of the class.
Both Blaine and Alex immediately stopped talking as they both knew this is one class you didn’t want to be caught talking in, on their first day of class a girl asked someone to borrow a pen and well she ended up fleeing the class and never returning.
About an hour into the class Blaine noticed Alex was nodding off so he quickly elbowed the boy next to him, Alex jerked his head up and shot Blaine a grateful smile before adjusting his position so that maybe he would be able to stay awake. Neither Blaine nor Alex knew what would happen if someone was caught sleeping in class and they weren’t eager to find out. As soon as the prof dismissed the class the boys headed for the coffee kiosk that was thankfully located in the building their class was in. Alex got the largest, strongest coffee he could and Blaine got his usual medium drip.
“Why are you so tired today?” Blaine asked Alex.
“One of my neighbours…I don’t know…they killed someone or robbed a bank or something…anyway the cops were all over the building yesterday questioning everyone to see if we know anything about him like who his friends are, that sort of thing. When they finally left the hooker who lives next door got in this huge argument with her pimp ‘cause he thought she called them and they didn’t stop all fucking night.”
“You really need to move out of that place.”
“I know but it’s all I can afford.”
“I have a two bedroom apartment.”
“Are you just bragging or are you offering me a place to stay?”
“Just bragging….no, of course I’m offering a place to stay.”
“That’d be awesome, are you sure?”
“Well it’s either that or I have to worry about you getting murdered in your sleep.”
“That would really suck for you.”
“It would, I’d have to go and try to make a new friend and I just don’t have that kind of time.” Blaine agreed.
Both boys laughed.
“Well, in that case yeah I’ll move in with you.”
“Good, I’ll get a key cut for you and you can move in whenever you want.”
“Awesome, I have to get to my next class I’ll see you later.”
“Bye Alex.”
Blaine found that he was able to through the rest of the classes that day with only a minimal amount of Kurt related zone outs and he was actually quite excited to have Alex move on with him, he would sometimes go the whole weekend without seeing or talking to anyone and having Alex live with him would fix that.
