Kurt who still looked as beautiful as ever, Kurt who was starring right at Blaine as if he saw a ghost. Blaine cursed himself for not being dressed better, he was dressed in jeans and a hoodie with his hair only lightly gelled and he was wearing his glasses.
“Hi.” Blaine said weakly.
“You’re in New York.”
“Uh…yeah.”
Both boys were mentally kicking themselves for sounding so stupid in front of their ex.
“How long?”
“Since September.”
“September…so like six months”
“Yeah.”
“You didn’t call.”
“I didn’t think you would want me to.”
“Hi Blaine.” Rachel said giving a little wave.
“Hi Rachel.”
“I have to go now.” She said awkwardly.
“We just got here.”
“I know but I have that… thing… that I forgot about until just now.”
“Well, that’s convenient.” Kurt muttered as she left.
“Do you…uh…do you want to join me?” Blaine asked gesturing to the empty chair.
“I don’t want to take anyone’s seat.” Kurt said eyeing the two coffee cups on the table.
“What? Oh no those are both mine I’ve been here for a while.” Blaine said as he noticed what Kurt was looking at.
“Uh, yeah I can join you for a bit I guess.”
“Good, let me just clear off some of these books.”
Kurt grabbed one of them off the table and looked at the table.
“Psychology Blaine?”
Blaine nodded taking a sip of his coffee.
“You didn’t let your father pressure you into this did you?”
“No, it was actually my idea.”
Kurt raised his eyebrows.
“Really?”
“Really. I want to go into Music Therapy and this is the best way to do that, plus I actually enjoy it. ”
“Music therapy? Don’t get me wrong that’s actually really perfect for you but I’m surprised you never even mentioned that when we were together.”
Blaine shrugged.
“I didn’t really know what I wanted back then other than…”
“Other than?”
“Other than you. Sorry, I probably should’ve said that.”
“Ok, moving on. How’s life outside of school?”
“There’s life outside of school?”
Kurt laughed.
“Seriously, I don’t think I’ve done something that wasn’t school related since I got here.”
“Well that’s just sad.”
Blaine shrugged again.
“You did at least explore the city before school started right?”
“I didn’t have time, I got here the day before orientation.”
“Blaine Devon Anderson! I am shocked and disappointed!” Kurt said in mock horror, “This just won’t do! You need to get to know this beautiful city of ours.”
“I know and I will…when I get time.”
“Am I going to have to force you?”
“It’s possible, if it isn’t school related I have a hard time remembering to actually do it.”
“Give me your number, I’ll text you and bug you until you do it.”
“I still have the same number.”
“Ummm….yeah I still need it I…uh…I deleted it.”
“Oh.”
“Yeah.”
“I still have yours I can text you, unless you changed it.”
“No, I didn’t.”
“Ok, good.” Blaine sent Kurt a quick text and noticed the time when he did.
“I actually need to go, I have a music class in an hour and it’s across town.”
“Do you want to meet up for coffee sometime?” Kurt asked
“Yeah, that’d be great. Does Saturday work for you? I’m sure I’ll need a study break.”
Kurt nodded.
"Yeah that sounds good."
"Great, I'll see Saturday then."
"Bye Blaine."
