Blaine’s Harmony and Counterpoint professor assigned the class to work in pairs for the next assignment, which of course made perfect sense as person can’t harmonise on their own. Blaine was talking to his partner Shawn as they left the classroom. He smiled brightly when he saw Kurt standing in the hall waiting for him.

                “Hey baby! What are you doing here?” he asked giving Kurt a small kiss.

                “My class got out early so I figured I would I’d come by here so I could walk with you back to your place, who is this?”

                “This is Shawn, we’re partnered together for an assignment. Shawn this is my boyfriend Kurt.”

                “Nice to meet you Kurt.” Shawn said extending his hand for a handshake.

                “You too Shawn.” Kurt shook his hand very quickly.

                “I’ll see you Saturday Blaine.”

                “Yup, see ya then.”

When Shawn left Kurt turned to Blaine, “Saturday?”

                “We need to work our assignment and that’s the only time we were both free.”

                “He’s good looking.”

Blaine shrugged.

                “Is he gay?”

                “I don’t know and I really don’t care. Kurt you don’t have to worry, you can come along with us while we work on it if you want.”

                “You know I can’t this Saturday Blaine, you know I have to go into the office.”

                “Then send Rachel anything that will set you mind at ease.”

                “She’s going to Lima this weekend. What about Alex, maybe he could go with you.”

                “He’s got to work.” Blaine said shaking his head, “maybe I could see if Dr. White would be willing to sit in.”

                “I don’t think we should impose on her like that…oh…I can’t believe I’m going to suggest this…”

                “What?”

                “Maybe you can work at that diner where Sebastian works, that way if this Simon guy is gay then Sebastian will be all over him and will hopefully distract him from you.”

                “Ok, firstly his name is Shawn not Simon and secondly even if he is gay and tries to hit on me nothing will happen. I love you and I won’t cheat on you again.”

                “I want to believe that but I just can’t yet.”

                “I know.” Blaine sighed, “we’ll go to the diner this week since we’re pretty much only going to pick the song but next week when we start singing I don’t think they’ll let us do it there.”

                “I know but next week either I’ll be able to join you or Rachel will.”

                “Yeah ok.

                “Why didn’t you tell me about him sooner?”

                “Baby, we just go paired up today and before that I had never even talked to him, I could’ve passed him on the street without knowing it.”

                “Really?”

                “Really, you know how little I pay attention to my classmates and how Alex is always telling me to learn people’s names and socialize.”

                “True. Sorry, I thought maybe you were hiding him from me.”

                “I’m not hiding anyone or anything from you that’s why I’ve given you all my passwords.”

                “I know, I’m being irrational.”

                “That’s fine, you’re allowed to be.”

                “I just wish things were the way they used to be.”

                “I know I do too, I wish I had a time machine so I could go back and prevent myself from doing it. I wish we weren’t apart the last year and a half. That’s not going to happen but we will get back to how we used to be.”

                “No, we’ll be better, stronger.”

                “I love you Kurt.”
