Holy Fuck.
Kurt snapped out of his fantasy when he realised that he was almost late to his little meeting with Adam and Dave. He shook his head slightly and nodded before mumbling an apology before quickly rushing to the elevator and went down to the fifth floor. He walked to the conference room of the fifth floor to find a man bigger than him, actually sporting a beard- not a full grown beard but the beginning of one. Kurt grinned as he entered.
“Karofsky!” Kurt announced his entrance, shocking the other man but quickly recovered and his lips broke into a smile as he approached Kurt. “How are you?” They both pulled each other into a bear hug. Kurt actually spoke to Karofsky a year after they graduated high school, they ended up talking and mending the past as Karofsky came to term with his sexuality and landed Kurt as a good friend but in the end, Karofsky moved to Washington making it difficult to contact Kurt and that ended their friendship.
“Im great, Kurt,” Dave replied after he pulled away from the hug. They both sat down on the chairs around the conference table. “Man, its been a while.” Kurt nodded and asked how his life has been going which made Dave really smile. “Oh, its been great! I actually met someone,” Kurt grinned and continued to listen. “His name is Charles and weve actually been together for five years.”
“Thats amazing, Dave, Im glad that your life has been going amazing,” Kurt told him honestly. “Youve been through a lot, we both have and now look where we are, were achieving things weve always wanted.”
Karofsky nodded but couldnt talk more as Adam burst in with his laptop and a bunch of papers and his grin making Kurts heart lift a bit.
Kurt walked back to his desk, sighing in frustration because he was an hour behind his work thanks to Adam who decided to make Kurt finish the meeting as Adam had to go back to his department. Kurt had explained a lot to Dave and set up a meeting as to what Dave is supposed to do and when hes supposed to come back for the photo-shoot. This pissed off Kurt because he was supposed to be doing some other thing for Mr. Anderson and now hes worried about getting fired, maybe his friends were right. Shit.
He quickly logged back on, noticing that Misty has gone away which means that Mr. Anderson would have noticed his absence, he checked whether there was any messages or phone calls that was missed; he clicked the button to find five missed phone calls, he dialed up the numbers and spoke to the clients and wrote down information that he got from them.
Once he was done, he saw Misty walking towards him with a smile which he returned. She stopped in front of his desk as Kurt gave her the notes that he has gathered, “Tell Carter to finish up the models, there are managers who are coming in around two in three days so I need Carter to have the charts ready. Penelope has to have her stats updated. Cleo has to have her ideas ready by Wednesday.” Kurt looked down at his list before looking at Misty. “Anndd Harry must have the accounts ready by nine so I can give it to Mr. Anderson.” Misty nodded and walked off to inform everyone on their task.
He sighed and rubbed his temple as he pulled out excel to start a proper schedule for Karofsky when the phone rang, Kurt looked at the numbers and noticed that it was number 1 blinking which meant that the call was from Mr. Anderson. Kurts heart thumped as he picked up the phone, “Good Afternoon, Mr. Anderson.”
“Mr. Hummel, I need to see you in my office.” Click.
Kurt slowly put the phone down, getting up and smoothing his outfit as he walked over to the main door of Mr. Andersons office. He felt like his world was ending, this must be it. He raised his arm and knocked on the door, waiting for an answer. It was directly after his first knock when he heard a faint come in from within, he started to shake. He pushed the door and walked in, not facing his boss yet as he closed the door shut; he walked into the big office, walked further in to find his boss staring at a bunch of papers before him with a pen in his hand and a frustrated look on his face. Kurt gulped and stood close to the chairs that is placed in front of Mr. Andersons desk.
“Mr. Hummel, please sit.” Kurt looked confused but obliged. Cooper looked up with a straight face, “Ive heard that you are helping the other departments as well as staying and doing your job as my PA...”
“Mr. Anderson, I am so sorry... I thought I could help around and-”
“Quiet.” Kurt shut up and stared at his boss, his heart beating so fast and could feel that he would start crying.
“Jesus, Coop,” a voice behind him spoke, he didnt even know there was someone else in the room. Kurt turned around to find the man that he bumped into, a few hours ago, sitting on the black leather couch in the corner of the office. He was drinking a glass of scotch as he stared at the two men before him. OMG, he was gorgeous. He smirked and got up from the couch, moving to the extra chair in front of the desk and sat, watching Kurt with such intensity.
Cooper broke into a grin, “Fine. I was kidding. Thats actually brilliant that youre helping with the company, the different departments- man, no other PA of mine would do that!” Kurt could feel the bubbling pride warming in his heart. “But other than that, I called you in here to ask you to help me with something.”
Kurt nodded, pulling out his work phone and opening up the notepad app which Cooper noticed and felt so happy. “Well, I need you to help with the advertisement for a movie thats coming out very soon. The movie company wanted us to use their actors, the main ones, for a photo-shoot and maybe come up with a movie poster.”
“But shouldnt Adam be here instead,” Kurt wondered out loud, Coopers eyebrow rose. “I mean he is head of the Media Departments subsection for Photography and Art.”
“Yes, well I honestly would like to call him up but hes MIA,” Cooper replied, opening up his laptop to a new web browser. “He apparently left around twelve and didnt come back,”
“Oh.” Kurts heart started to beat faster. “He just went to gather some things,” he lied, Cooper staring at him. “We had a meeting with an old friend of mine who is going to model for the sports page of this seasons magazine.”
Cooper nodded and hummed, typing up something onto his laptop. He stood up, excusing himself as he left his office to head downstairs leaving the two men alone. Kurt sighed and rubbed his temples, clearly worried for Adam and wasnt very aware of the other person until they spoke aloud.
“You are absolutely gorgeous.” Kurts eyes snapped wide open in shock, his hand froze and he looked up at the man before him who just stared at him with a smirk, sipping the scotch without any reaction. “I swear I am completely hard for you right now.” Kurt glared at him, sitting up straight. “Oh what I would do to just fuck you against this desk.”
“How dare you?” Kurt hissed, glaring at the man before him. “That is an inappropriate and completely wrong way to speak to a stranger!”
The man set down the glass, leaning forward whilst sitting. “It works.”
Before Kurt could have said anything else, Cooper came back with a bunch of papers in hand. He smiled at Kurt, pushing a few papers with pictures and names on it towards him. “These are the people that will be coming to New York from LA- all of them are main characters.”
“Uh Mr. Anderson, it says that there are five people on the list but only four people are on it and all of them are males, so is there any females-”
“Females are already done, they found another place in LA but noticed that it took a long while which is why they only did the girls.” Cooper smiled, Kurt nodded as he read the first actors info. “And there is only four there because this is Blaine, the fifth actor-” Kurts eyes locked with the man in front of him who smirked. “Hes also my brother.”
Well crap.
“Hey gorgeous,” Blaine flirted, leaning on Kurts desk. “How are you doing this fine evening?”Kurt rolled his eyes, continued to type up emails that would be sent to the managers of all the actors about when the photo-shoot will take hold. Blaine grinned at the porcelain boy, staring at the beauty before him. “Aw, your hurting me...”
“Mr. Anderson, Im currently busy with work so I appreciate if youd leave me alone to finish my work.” Kurt replied, ignoring any sort of movement that Blaine made. Blaine picked up a pencil from Kurts desk and walked away. Kurt thinking that he left for good, he was relieved until he heard a scraping of a chair; he looked to the left where he could see Blaine dragging a chair towards Kurt which made him groan in frustration. Blaine plopped the chair in front of Kurts desk, grabbing a notepad off of Kurts right side and tore off a page to start a doodle on. “Mr. Anderson, what are you doing?”
“What does it look like Im doing, sweet-cheeks?”
“Mr. Anderson, Im currently in the middle of my-”
“I know,” Blaine answered, not bothered to look up as he continued to doodle random things on the paper. “Thats why Im here, doodling and not having a conversation with you because Ill wait until youre done working.” Kurt was taken back by the answer, he met Blaines beautiful eyes when Blaine looked up. “Ill be right here, sweet-cheeks and nothing you do will make me go away until I find a reason to leave you.”
With that Kurt went on with his work, answering phone calls and sending emails with Blaine sitting close to him doing random things but has not bothered Kurt at all which he was thankful for. It was around seven at night when Adam approached him with his cute British self making Kurt smile, and Blaine looked at the two.
“Hello, Love,” Adam smiled at Kurt who decided to hold all his calls, Kurt turned his chair towards Adam. “Everything is going wonderful, the meeting was fine and I got the information that you sent down. I cant even thank you enough,”
“Oh, its no problem.” Kurt answered, Adam chuckled and took Kurts hand in his, causing Kurt to hold his breath. “Um?”
“I wanna take you out for dinner,”
“Oh.”
Blaine had a straight face, getting up without being noticed and walked off.
Kurt fixed his shirt and stared at himself in the mirror, this was his first date after his breakup with Cody and he was nervous. Being with Cody for a year does something to a person, Cody was his first boyfriend and hes explored many things with Cody which did involve a threesome but with a girl. Yes, Cody Tolentino was bisexual and Kurt did love him so much that he agreed to the threesome except he didnt think it would be a girl.
It was rather awkward for Kurt. He and Cody had started it off together whilst the girl sat there watching them, stroking herself but Kurt didnt pay that any attention, he sort of ignored the other gender. He started to go down on Cody when the girl came over and made out with his boyfriend, Kurt not think of it because the kiss could be the heat of the moment. It wasnt under Cody was eating her out that Kurt was kind of disgusted and turned off, so he pulled away and left the room. Cody didnt even bothered- was that cheating? Kurt wouldnt know and understand.
It was two months after that, he found out that Cody slept with not only the same girl but three other people! Kurt was furious and kicked the bastard out of his home. Kurt decided to move out and find a new place, his lease should have been renewed within a month so finding a new place would be fantastic and he did.
So six months later, here he was, getting ready for a first date with Adam.
He checked his watch and noticed that Adam was actually ten minutes late but thats not a big deal. He went to the kitchen and poured himself a glass of wine as he wait for his date. He sat on his couch and sipped away his wine.
Kurts eyes blinked open, he fell asleep- shit! His eyes widen and noticed that he actually slept, he leaped up and ran to his phone to check if there was any calls or messages. He looked at the time to find out that he slept for just twenty minutes which means he waited for thirty minutes for Adam to arrive but to his surprise, he did not get anything from the man.
The confusion was set. Maybe he was stuck in traffic? Kurt sighed, rubbing his temple before unlocking his phone again to check out the other social apps; he opened Instagram to find that Adam had uploaded videos and pictures which is strange but Kurt checked them out anyways. He scrolled through and saw that Adam was at... a club? What? Kurts heart dropped. Ouch. He needed to call up Chandler.
“Well good morning, gorgeous!” Blaine announced, walking up to Kurt who worked at his desk, his face showing frustration. “Even with that annoyed look on your face, you are still drop dead gorgeous and I think Im falling in love.” Kurt rolled his eyes, turned to look at Blaine with a straight face.
“Good Morning, Mr. Anderson.”
“Hmm, that sounds amazing...Im sure thatll be appropriate when were in bed,” Kurt continued to stare at the curly man before him, he was amazed and annoyed at the presence of such being that could make him want to punch someone so bad. Blaine winked at the porcelain boy and sat on the desk. “But out of the bedroom, call me Blaine.”
“Mr-”
“Blaine.” Blaine corrected him.
“Im sorry but you are the brother of my boss and we are not friends in anyway and calling you by your first name would be quiet rude since you are technically a sub-boss,” Kurt explained. “So, calling you Mr. Anderson would be appropriate.”
“Im sure Cooper would like his brother to be comfortable in his own workplace, and I wont feel comfortable until you call me by my name,” Blaine replied. “Im sure you wouldnt want to deal with my brother with such a silly little thing, now would you?”
Kurt sighed and glared to the floor. “No, Blaine.”
“Hmm... say that again.” Blaine smirked making Kurt shake his head. “Now now, my brother dear is inside his office which is a minute walk so say it.”
Kurt was about to say it when Adam comes into his view, Adam smiled at Kurt and nodded at the younger Anderson. Kurt smiled back, his heart dripping with pain at the sight because Adam did, in fact, forget about the date.
“Morning, love,” Adam greeted. “Where were you yesterday?” Kurt looked at him confused. “I was talking about dinner, I waited at the little diner down the street with a bunch of the art department- we all went for the celebration and I got lucky last night as well,” Adam winked and let out a chuckle, Kurt felt sick. “But aside from that, I was wondering why you wouldnt join us.”
“I um..” Kurt stuttered out, clearly embarrassed into thinking that someone like Adam would like him. “I uh.. I was busy.”
“Really?” Adam questioned. Blaine watched the two interact, he observed the way Kurt held himself and Adam acted like an ass.
“A friend of mine got stood up, well he thought they were going to go on a date but turns out he hoped for nothing and getting ready was done for nothing so,” Kurt swallowed, trying to keep himself calm. “So, he needed me and I was there.”
“Hmm, well thats a dip.” Adam remarked, sighing but then reached in his bag and pulled out a sheet of paper. “Kurt, would you ring up Mr. Anderson as I need to speak with him...” Kurt nodded, and pushed the call button which Cooper allowed the small meeting. Adam bid his farewell and stalked off to the office, leaving Blaine and Kurt.
“So is he your type?” Blaine asked, staring at Kurt with no specific emotion on his face. Kurt looked back at Blaine confused. “I mean, the type: tall, blonde, with an accent?” Kurt sighed and ignored him, getting back with his work. Blaine shook his head and walked off, probably towards his brother.
“But the heart wants what it wants The heart wants what it wants You got me scattered in pieces Shining like stars and screaming Lighting me up like Venus But then youd disappear and make me wait.”
The song in the background singing out, and Kurt sat on his couch with Chandler crying at how stupid he was and all his best friend could do was comfort him. Chandler knew everything that has happened between Cody and Kurt, the others knew but not the full story.
“Why am I so stupid, Chandler?”
“You arent. Theyre all just stupid,” Chandler whispered, pulling his best friend closer to him, petting Kurts hair. “They dont know what theyre missing. Youre special-”
“Chandler, I know you like Elliot.” Kurt murmured into his best friends chest causing the other boy to freeze. Kurt looked up to find his friend with those cute hipster glasses staring at him in shock. “Well, its true. Ive noticed ever since the welcome home party for Santana.”
“Uh, babe,” Chandler started, eyes widen. “Thats like almost eight months ago.”
“Well, Elliot had just gotten a new tattoo and you couldnt stop with the staring and the questioning,” Kurt said, smiling slightly. “I think its cute and that you should go for it.” Chandler sighed and moved Kurt so he could stand up. “Whats wrong? I was the one thats sad-”
“You dont understand, Kurt.” Chandler blurted out, his tone sounding like he was in the verge of tears. Kurt sat up worried, his own problems evaporating; he motioned his bestie to come and sit next to him. “We didnt tell anyone....”
“What happened, babe?”
“We slept with one another.”
“What?” Kurt looked at him, shocked.
Chandler sniffed, pulling his legs to his chest. “It was during the welcoming party, we all got pretty drunk and I went to Elliots place because he spilled a drink on himself and needed to change, I was there because he was supposed to drive me home. I couldnt ask you nor San because the two of you were out of your mind and were at the stage where you couldnt walk far before you would have collapsed.”
Kurt remembered that morning, he couldnt move as he felt like the earth punished him by making his body feel like a 14 inch dildo was shoved up his ass. Kurt had to call in sick to work which Cooper happily allowed him to take the day or two off, and he was very thankful for that. He and Santana stayed at his place until Elliot and Chandler came back, looking awkward but Kurt was too hung over to realise.
“Anyways, we were at his place and he was a bit drunk so he took off his shirt in front of me and I was also intoxicated and I … Im pretty sure I attacked him with kisses?” Chandler shakes his head and runs his fingers through his hair in frustration. “Things led to a hook up and Ive felt this way ever since! I mean, weve talked about it and put it behind but I cant... hes just..”
Kurt pulled Chandler in his arms and they both hugged each other and slept with the new song playing in the background.
“Somebody speak to me Cause Im feeling like hell Need you to answer me Im overwhelmed I need a voice to echo I need a light to take me home I need a star to follow”
Chandler and Kurt ended up talking about Adam and Elliot throughout the following morning, Kurt had messaged Cooper that he was going to be late due to an emergency (Chandler and himself) which Cooper was okay with meaning that Kurt had the whole morning off.
Chandler had told Kurt that he should forget Adam and move on, there was nothing there anyways. Adam was using Kurt and that Kurt could have so much better, a person who could actually cherish him which led them to the Elliot topic; Kurt needed to find a way to get those two locked up in a room together to finally sort things out, but of course, Kurt needs to know if Elliot felt the same way.
It is now around two in the afternoon when Kurt strutted in the office, more specifically the twenty-fifth floor, where he was then attacked by phone calls once he had sat down and opened up the computer. Blaine was walking out of Coopers office, talking on the phone sounding very angry as he stalked off towards the elevator, completely ignoring Kurt- who kind of felt sad about it? Kurt shook his head and picked up a call, speaking to the client.
“Andersons office, may I help you?” Kurt hummed as he jotted down points on meetings and calls when he saw Adam coming towards him, his aura feeling very tensed. Kurt stared at the older man as he continued to talk.
“Kurt, what the hell?” Adam spat out angrily, Kurt raised an eyebrow not knowing what he had done. Adam rolled his eyes, “Mr. Anderson gave me a fucking warning, a warning!”
“Um Ms. Wright, is it alright if I put you on the line with Mr. Anderson or will that be a problem?”
“Sure, thats fine.” She spoke back through the phone, “I need to have a word with him anyhow with the magazine.” Kurt put her on hold, clicking Mr. Andersons number and telling him that Ms. Wright was on line three before hanging up completely and turning his attention to Adam who was beyond pissed off.
“Yes, Adam?”
Adam rolled his eyes and glared, crossing his arms. “Mr. Anderson comes down to the department asking for the pictures of the pre-models and the coming up photo-shoots and guess what? I didnt receive the information by you last night! He gave me a warning, Kurt. A warning about how I should start doing my job-”
“Youre causing a disturbance.” A voice called out from behind them, Kurt stared at Blaine who stood there with his arms crossed, his face lacking of any emotion. Adam rolled his eyes and snapped back at the curly haired beauty.
“Oh fuck off, mate, Im having a conversation with a co-worker of mine-”
“Co-worker?” Blaine questioned, he stepped closer. “What floor do you work on? Because I never saw you on this level.”
Adam glared at the shorter man, “On the fifth, that doesnt matter. Mind your own business,” Adam turned back to Kurt and continued to belittle him, “Hummel, where are the papers? God, you do nothing right!” Blaine had enough, he walked in front of Adam and glared. “What the fuck, dude? Who are you? You dont even work here, get yourself away from something that doesnt involve around you.”
“Let me get this straight first.” Adam sighed in frustration and leaned against the wall as Blaine continued. “You work on the fifth floor, with the media department but you dont do your job properly as you are yelling at a worker on the twenty-fifth floor who is working under Cooper Anderson, who is the CEO of the company. You are yelling at a worker on the twenty-fifth floor who has nothing to do with your work. So tell me, Mr. Crawford, how is this his fault when you gave him your work- Im sure he has a better things to do for himself and for Coop than your job which you clearly arent doing based on the amount of times you had over your assignments to Kurt and you always come in late.” Blaine reasoned. “Now, tell me. How is it Kurts fault?”
Adam glared, getting off the wall and walking towards Blaine, pushing him. “Who the fuck do you think you are?”
“Hes my brother, Mr. Crawford.” a voice boomed behind them. The three turned, to find Cooper standing there with a straight face. “Mr. Crawford, I hired Kurt to be my PA not yours, I havent even known that you have been asking my PA to do your work.” Adam broke a sweat, he was in deep shit. “It wasnt until my brother, Blaine, came to me yesterday speaking about what youve done in the past to Kurt. He overheard from the different co-workers, both on the twenty-fifth and the fifth floor- Im sure you are aware that he doesnt work for you,”
“Yes, sir.”
Cooper sighed, “Mr. Crawford, Kurts work for the past two months had increasingly rose and Ive noticed that he has much more paperwork on his desk, which is strange as the only paperwork hes supposed to have is faxes, printed emails and documents on certain individual that I have assigned.”
“I can expl-”
“No, come to my office, Mr. Crawford, we need to have a chat.” Cooper walked off with Adam following, his heart sinking which each step he takes.
Blaine looked at Kurt who stared at his computer screen, his face showing no emotion and Blaine couldnt help but admire him. Sure, shit just got real but Kurt looked as beautiful as usual. Blaine needed to ask him if he was alright or not, but Blaine was sure that he was happy that British Fuckface is gone for good.
Blaine smirked in his head, as he pictures Adam on a plane flying away from the US and back to the UK with Blaine standing there with his middle finger up.
“Hey, you okay?”
“Hmm?” Kurt snapped out, looking at Blaine. “Yeah, sure.” Kurts fingers went into automatic mode as he started clicking and replying to emails, completely ignoring Blaine afterwards but Blaine was totally okay with it because hell do this, hell get Kurt to speak to him and theyll end up being friends- Blaine wanted more than friends but hell fix his goal as being friends with the one and only: Kurt Hummel.
