Kurt felt really nervous as they arrived at his old apartment. His heart was beating faster; maybe because of the fact that he'd finally be able to go through with his and Adam's divorce after he'd signed the papers.
"Kurt? Are you sure you don't want me to come with you?" Blaine asked softly, reaching out to take Kurt's hand into his and squeezing it gently.
"No... Really, like I said. It's fine," he said and shook his head as he looked over at Blaine. "I'll be right back," Kurt smiled and leaned up to press a small kiss to his lips before he got out of the car and walked over to the entrance of the building. He got up the stairs to Adam's apartment, knocking onto the door a few times and waited for his husband to open up.
"Come in," Adam said as he saw Kurt and smiled a little as he stepped aside so he could come in which he did right away.
"Here... I got the papers. Just... please just sign them. Blaine's waiting for me and I really-"
"Oh, you just want to be done with me so you can go back to him and make love to him all night long. Is that what you want?" Adam rolled his eyes and quickly snatched the papers from him, walking into the kitchen.
Kurt sighed, "Stop that. That's not true, okay?" He crossed his arms over his chest as he watched him.
"Whatever," Adam shrugged as he took a pen and quickly signed the paper before handing it back to Kurt. "There. You're free. I'm sure you can go and celebrate now."
The 22-year-old shook his head and took the papers from him. "I wouldn't have married you if I'd known how everything would turn out. You've become so... cruel. Coldhearted," he breathed out and bit his lip as he looked up at his ex-husband.
"Oh? You wouldn't have married me?" Adam asked, stepping dangerously close to Kurt and forcing him up against a wall as he gripped Kurt's shoulders.
"No, I wouldn't have. It feels like I don't know you anymore," the younger one whispered, his eyes welling up with tears; again.
"And I don't know you anymore. May I kindly remind you that you cheated on me," Adam said, "Oh, but wait. You didn't just cheat, you let another guy fuck you without a condom and got pregnant." He laughed half-heartedly and shook his head. "You're disgusting."
Kurt bit down on his bottom lip hard, a tear escaping his eye and rolling down his cheek at Adam's harsh words. He'd never talked like that before and it was really hurting him. Why did he marry such an arrogant and cruel man?
"How could you do that to me?" Adam yelled, his fist hitting the wall next to Kurt's head. "You promised me you'd never do such a terrible thing!"
"A-Adam, please..." Kurt whispered, squeezing his eyes shut as he ducked his head, not wanting to look into his ex-husband's eyes.
"This could be our baby. Our baby. Do you get it? We could've been a happy little family," Adam laughed, swallowing thickly.
"We could've never been a- a happy family!" Kurt's voice got louder as he glanced up through his tears again. "It wasn't me. I cheated because you didn't give me anything. I've never felt loved! I've never felt like I was special to you. You... You treated me terribly and I- I hate you!" Kurt sobbed uncontrollably at the end of his sentence.
A wide smile spread on Adam's face as he let go of Kurt for a moment. The 22-year-old tried to control his breathing as he looked up into the older one's face, frowning as he saw the smile and his eyes glistering weirdly. "What-" Before Kurt could finish Adam crashed their lips together, pressing and pinning Kurt up against the wall again as he angrily moved their lips together.
Kurt's eyes were wide as he tried to push him off of him; failing miserably. He struggled, hitting Adam's shoulder with his hand. When the older one finally pulled away, Kurt's hand shot up and hit his ex-husband's cheek with one loud slap.
Quickly he grabbed his papers and took advantage of Adam holding onto his cheek as he stormed out of his apartment and rushed down to his car as more tears started rolling down his face – his vision getting blurrier and blurrier.
When he reached the car he tossed his bag onto the backseat took a deep breath, his eyes not meeting Blaine's as the 25-year-old asked why Kurt was crying.
"Don't," he said sharply as Blaine reached out for his hand. "Please don't touch me... I just wanna go home," he whispered quietly, turning around so he was looking out of the window.
"Okay," the curly-haired man said softly before starting the car. He didn't know what had happened up there just a few minutes ago, but he needed to know why this beautiful man next to him was crying. What did this asshole Adam do to him?
*
Since Kurt and Blaine got home the younger one had been sitting in his room, crying quietly. Blaine didn't know what to do. What was he supposed to do? Kurt didn't want to talk to him or anyone else – but it was already two hours ago that they got home. He wanted to hold Kurt in his arms and tell him that whatever happened; everything was going to be fine.
Adam had done something to him, he knew it. They'd been alone for only 10 minutes, though. So what was it, that really happened up there?
Blaine sighed as he walked over to the guest room, about to knock on his door as he heard Kurt's voice talking to someone.
"H-Hi dad..." Kurt whispered, another sob escaping his lips. "I... I need to talk to you. I-" He trailed off, squeezing his eyes shut as he took a deep breath.
"Son? What happened? Is it Adam again? What's wrong?" Burt's voice was worried as he heard his son sobbing quietly.
"Adam signed the divorce-papers... He- but..." He let out another quiet sob, more tears forming in his eyes again as he thought about the kiss.
"But? What did he do?" His father asked curiously and Kurt could tell that he was raising his eyebrows.
"He- He kissed me, dad... I didn't want him to. And he just... I couldn't move and now I- I can't get it out of my head... I just feel so bad for letting him kiss me..."
Burt took a deep breath at the other end of the line. "Kurt," he then said, "It's not your fault if he kissed you against your will." Burt said seriously. "Just try and calm down, will you buddy? It's going to be just fine," he said soothingly.
"O-Okay," Kurt breathed out and rubbed his forehead, wiping his tears off of his face.
"Now, have you talked to Blaine about it? That's his name right?" His father asked slowly.
"No... I- I couldn't. I didn't really... t-talk to him at all..." Kurt whispered softly. "I... I don't want him to- to get into a fight with Adam again..." He breathed out, clutching the pillow in his hand which he'd been holding to his chest the entire time.
"Again? That means they already had a fight?" He asked.
"Yeah... At Blaine's bar... Blaine... Blaine punched Adam." He said, biting his lip nervously.
Burt sighed. "Okay, look Kurt. Maybe you should just go to sleep now or take a nap, alright? Talk to Blaine about it tomorrow maybe – I promise he won't be mad at you. He'll understand."
Kurt nodded to himself as a small smile appeared on his face. "Thank you dad. I- I don't know what I'd do without you..." He whispered before he hung up and tossed his phone aside.
Blaine, who'd been listening the entire time, sighed as he walked back into his room. He figured Kurt wouldn't come to him today, so maybe he could take a nap too. Of course he wasn't happy about the fact that Adam kissed Kurt (on the lips most likely) – he was rather angry and furious about it. He wanted to punch the damn grin out of this guy's face. But he wouldn't do that of course, for Kurt's sake.
With another sigh he closed his eyes and let himself fall back against the pillows, drifting off to sleep; not happy about the fact that Kurt wasn't next to him in his arms.
