Chapter 2

Kurt was sitting in chemistry when the tannoy tinkled into the atmosphere.

"Kurt Hummel to Coach Sue's office!" Becky Jackson's voice came over the speakers, in a half scream.

Kurt glanced around the room, searching for Kurt Hummel, before realising, it was in fact him. He fumbled his books into his bag and threw it over his shoulders before straightening his Cheerios uniform and striding out of the class room. The teacher, who had stopped her lecture to scowl at the boy walking out, muttered a few obscenities to Sue Sylvester under her breath for taking out her best student yet again, before gathering her thoughts and continuing with her lesson.

Kurt worried his bottom lip between his teeth as he walked down the corridor to Sue Sylvester's office. He had no idea what she wanted, he'd set up more than enough Cheerio practices and his grades hadn't slipped in the last three years. It was always a tricky situation to unravel when Coach Sue demanded his presence in the middle of the day. Kurt concluded, nodding to himself, he was probably there to receive some award or commendation that just could not wait until lunch. Kurt dropped down into the plastic fold out chair in the hallway leading to Sue Sylvester's office, before reaching for his phone, noticing the purple flash indicating a message from Santana.

3 New Messages

Kurt quickly scrolled through the messages. Santana was just plain rude at times but she was powerful and talented and, as much as Kurt hated to admit it at times, his best friend. He typed a quick message to her explaining that he didn't know what was happening and that, yes, he'd find her at lunch to tell her what had happened.

Kurt pushed his phone back into his bag and leaned back, resting his head on the glass window and breathing slowly. It was unusual for Coach Sue to be taking so long to drag him into her office. He scanned the glass panel that usually allowed a view of her office. The blinds were shut. Strange, but not totally unheard of.

Sue Sylvester was a rather cunning character who could be known to plot and scheme against various causes, so her shut blinds weren't a total give away. Kurt guessed that she had something up her sleeve, but what did it have to do with him?

At that second the door opened, the coach stepping out.

"Porcelain."

"Coach." Kurt acknowledged her with a small nod.

She flicked her head and turned on her heels, motioning for him to come into the spacious office. Kurt followed her, straightening his uniform and checking his hair in the glass. He wanted to look especially good if he were accepting any sort of award.

Kurt looked around the room, seeing nothing out of the ordinary at first before glancing to see another person sat in one of the chairs opposite Coach Sue's desk. She sat herself behind the desk and motioned for Kurt to be seated in the second chair. Glancing at the person next to him, he realised it was in fact a boy with insane amounts of gel gluing his hair to his head dressed in an obviously brand new Cheerios uniform.

"Kurt Hummel, meet Blaine Anderson. Your new co-captain."
