Author's Notes: I apologize profusely for taking so long to update. I had tech week for a play that I was in, and then opening weekend, and I just had no time to write. I also apologize for how short this chapter is, considering how long you all have had to wait for the update. But hopefully you enjoy! I'll try not to take so long to update this time.

Kurt couldn't sleep that night. He had too much on his mind.

He got up out of bed, walking quietly past Dave, who was sleeping outside his room, trying to be sure he stayed safe during the night. Kurt appreciated it; He did. But he didn't need anyone looking after him. He was old enough to take care of himself.

He hurried down the stairs and out the front door, deciding to spend his restless night at the cemetery, visiting his parents' grave.

He gave some money to the carriage driver and went to grab a cloak, seeing as how he had left his room in nothing but his nightclothes.

Little did he know, that when he got back, the man driving the carriage was not the driver at all, but in fact, the Angel of Music.

He instructed who he thought to be the carriage driver where to go, and they set off in the direction of his parents' grave.

David awoke suddenly from a sound sleep and noticed that Kurt's door was hanging wide open. He got up, running into the room just to be sure Kurt wasn't there, and saw Kurt heading off somewhere in a carriage before barelling down the stairs.

He never should have gone to sleep. Never should have left Kurt without a watchful eye on him.

He ran into the carriage driver as he came out the doors of the opera house. He seemed to have a nasty bump on the back of his head, but David had no time to worry about that now.

"Where are they headed?" He asked in a rush.

"The cemetery." The carriage driver informed him.

David grabbed a horse from the stable, jumping on it and riding as fast as he could after the carriage.

The road to the cemetery was long, and Kurt was somewhat cold, but he needed to go visit his parents' grave. He thought perhaps talking to them, even if they didn't talk back, would help him clear his head and figure out what he needed to do.

He still hadn't made up his mind on whether he wanted to be with Dave or the Phantom. They both had their good points and their bad points. Though, admittedly, the Phantom had more bad points than Dave. But that wasn't the question. The question was did the bad points outway the good. Kurt didn't think they did.

The carriage stopped and Kurt hopped out, opening the gate to the cemetery and walking inside.

The cemetery was large, and the grave belonging to Kurt's parents was at the very back.

As he walked through the cemetery, he looked around him, and he couldn't help but feel that his parents were out of place here. It was dark and dismal, and his parents were always warm and smiling. They made him feel happy, no matter how bad he had been feeling. But this. Here. This didn't make him happy at all. It made him cold, lonely, maybe even a little bit tired.

All he wanted in the whole world ws to be able to speak to them. Hear their voices one more time. But he knew he never would.

He knew it was a waste of his time and energy, wanting them to come back to him, and yet he couldn't help it.

Maybe if they were still around...Maybe then, things would be easier.

He could go to his mother for advice, and his father for support.

Of course, he still had Brittany and Ms. Hudson, and he thought of her as a mother. But it just wasn't the same. Wasn't the same as having his real mother and father back.

He continued to walk towards his parents' grave, and it began to snow. He looked up at the sky for a moment, just breathing gently, trying to clear his head.

He arrived at the grave, sitting down on the steps that led up to it, and looking up at the name "Hummel" engraved in the stone.

He closed his eyes and allowed himself to cry, if only for a moment.

He heard his name being sung softly from inside the grave and looked up. It sounded as if it were the Phantom. But it couldn't be, could it? How would he have gotten into the grave? He never even left the opera house. And yet that was undeniably his voice.

"I am your angel of music.
Come to me angel of music."

The voice sang, and it was the same song the Phantom had sung to Kurt that first night he had appeared in his mirror before taking him down to the depths of the opera house. It must be him.

Kurt stood up, once again mesmerized by the Phantom's song, and began walking ever closer to the grave.

"I am your angel of music.
Come to me angel of music."

The Phantom sang again.

"Kurt! Kurt, wait!"

Kurt heard Dave shouting from behind him, and the trance was broken.

"Kurt, stop! He's dangerous." Dave yelled, as he ran past Kurt up the steps to the grave.

Just as Kurt was about to argue, tell Dave that he was perfectly safe with the Phantom, he jumped down from above the grave, sword in hand. Dave pulled his sword out of its sheath quickly, ready to defend himself.

Kurt let out a gasp.

This couldn't be happening. He didn't want them to fight. It was especialy awful, because he was nearly certain they were fighting over him.

This wouldn't be happening if he could just make up his mind and pick one of them once and for all.

Kurt watched on in horror as the Phantom swung at Dave, who ducked, and then lurched forward, obviously attempting to stab the Phantom.

Kurt wanted to stop them. Run between them and tell them that this was ridiculous. That they had no reason to fight. But he knew that Dave would never listen to him. He was determinded that the Phantom was a danger to Kurt, and could not be persuaded otherwise no matter how many times Kurt argued with him.

The Phantom probably wouldn't listen to him either. Kurt knew that once he felt endangered by someone he would stop at nothing until it had been taken care of.

That was one of his flaws, but also addmitedly, something that Kurt admired about him.

Dave ran down the steps leading up to the grave, his feet nearling slipping in the new fallen snow. The Phantom swung at him again, but this time, he swung lower, and Dave jumped over his sword. He spun around quickly, swinging his sword wildly in the Phantom's direction, but missed.

Their swords clashed with each other as the moved around the graves, one of them taking a quick stab forward every once in a while, but neither of them ever making contact with the other's body.

Dave was walking backwards as the Phantom advanced on him, their swords still clashing loudly, and then Dave was tripping over a tree branch, falling backwards and scrambling quickly to right himself again, blocking a fierce swing from the Angel of Music.

Their swings became more violent, less controlled. Kurt was worried for their lives now. He had no clue what Dave was capable of, but he knew that the Phnatom was capable of murder.

He didn't want either of them to die, or even become seriously injured.

He was wracking his brain for a way to get them to stop. Listen to him. But he didn't know how. Didn't know if he would be able to move from his spot, even if he came up with a way. He was frozen in his place; Scared.

Dave ran behind a largehead stone losing sight of the Phantom, from what Kurt could tell.

He was just about to shout for Dave to watch out when the Phantom came up behind him. Luckily, though, it seemed as though Dave had heard him, because he turned around just in time, blocking the Phantom's sword with his own.

Dave was walking backwards again, the Phantom seemingly having full control over this fight as their swords clashed and clanked together. The Phantom swung his cape in Dave's face, momentarily diorienting him long enough for the Phantom to slash a large cut into his upper arm. Dave let out a shout, and Kurt gasped as he saw the blood begin to gush from the wound.

Surely that would be enough. They would stop now. Wouldn't they?

Apparently not. Dave was angry now. He began swinging at the Phantom with a new found fury. This was no longer just about Kurt, now it was personal.

He swung angrily, knocking the Phantom half to the ground where he was able to kick his sword away with his foot, disarming him entirely.

He put a foot on the Angel of music's chest, holding him down as he raised his sword above his head, ready to go in for the kill.

Kurt was not about to let this happen. He would not; Could not let this happen.

"Dave!" He shouted, and he saw Dave's resolve begin to falter. "Please, please don't."

Dave stepped back, sheathing his sword and breathing heavily.

He grabbed Kurt and helped him up onto the horse with him, and they galloped away.

As they were leaving, Kurt watched the Phantom get himself up off the ground. He gave him a sad look, wishing he could say something, but knowing that, at this moment, he had to go with Dave.

The Phantom was furious. He couldn't let Karofsky get away with this.

Kurt was his. Had been his since he had moved to the opera house as a young boy.

Of course, his feelings for him had obviously not been romantic back then. They had grown to be so over the years, and he couldn't just let Karofsky swoop in and take him.

He knew Kurt reciprocated his feelings. He just knew it.

So why was it that he was riding away on the back of Karofsky's horse right this very moment?

He brushed the snow from his body, breathing heavily; Nearly panting.

"This means war." He muttered to himself darkly, gazing in the direction they had just ridden.
