Kurt, and Rachel were surrounding their NYADA letters. They made a pact to open them together. There were moments before Kurt and Rachel’s future would change forever.

“Who should go first?” Rachel asked.

“I will.” Kurt slowly picked up his letter and ripped it open before turning away to read it.

“What does it say?”

“I…I got in, RACHEL IM GOING TO NYADA!”

“Oh my god Kurt! That’s great! I knew you would, you nailed your audition. Ok I’ll open mine now.”

Rachel opened hers but she didn’t. Rachel didn’t get it.

“What does yours say?”

“I…I didn’t get in” Rachel started bursting into tears. Kurt hugged her. He felt bad, Rachel was amazingly talented but her dreams were ending here and now.

 “Don’t you think its time we had the talk?” Blaine asked Kurt, sitting down next to him.

“Oh god no. Please Blaine can’t I just have the last 2 days of my high school life not having to worry about this. We can do it later.”

“No Kurt, you are graduating soon, this isn’t some far thing in the future. You are going off to NYADA!”

“Fine…”

“Look we both saw The Notebook, long distance relationships never work.”

“Look Blaine, in MY ending of The Notebook I am sitting in a rest home, (retired) talking about the love of my life, saying every single detail as if it mattered. But in MY ending he is there with me, telling me to shut up so he can watch American Idol. And anyways I’m not going to NYADA or New York this year. I’ll go next year, WITH you.” Kurt answered staring Blaine straight in the eyes with a big grin on his face.

But Blaine didn’t have the reaction Kurt hoped for.

“Kurt, no you can’t do that, you can’t stay here for me. I’m not worth it.”

“You are to me, you are the love of my life, I told you I’m never saying goodbye to you. We have shared so much, you are a part of me now. With out you I am not complete. So we can be together forever just like we planned.”

But Blaine wasn’t too happy with this. Kurt had to go New York without him…

“Hey Kurt, can you come home with me today, I need your help to study for my final exams tomorrow?”

“Anything to spend time with you.” Kurt whispered placing a sweet kiss on Blaine’s lips before walking off.

Blaine new what he had to do. There was only one choice.

Kurt got into Blaine’s jeep thinking he was going to Blaine’s house…

“Babe, your house isn’t this way. Where are we going?”

“Just be patient.”

But when they pulled up outside of the train station Kurt was certainly curious.

“W…What are we doing here Blaine?”

“This is the train to New York. You’re getting on it and you’re going to New York and going to NYADA. Don’t waste you’re time here with me. I already told Burt about this and he thinks it’s the right thing to do as well.”

“No Blaine what? I told you I will go next year. I’m not going, not without you.”

“Kurt you are going to be a star you don’t need me.”

“I do Blaine, I don’t care, I want to be where you are, where ever it is!” Kurt said starting to cry.

“So you wanna be in Iraq?”

“Wait, Iraq? Blaine you can’t join the army not even next year! Are you insane?” Kurt was breaking down by now.

“No Kurt, I want to do good in this world. And when you are famous I will be able to say, ‘That was my boyfriend!’ And this is harder for me, do you know how many nights I have lied in bed crying over this?”

“Wait, was? Are…Are you breaking up with me?”

“Look Kurt I will always love you…Always and forever remember? Just like the song, and one day if we met again maybe we are meant to be. But you need to be set free.”

“NO BLAINE PLEASE, I LOVE YOU PLEASE BLAINE DON’T.” Kurt screamed.

“So you are going to get out and take your suitcase with you. I packed one for you. And you are going to go to New York and have the time of your life ok? And you need to forget me, and like I said, if we are meant to be we will find our way to each other if its here in Ohio or on the other side of the world.” Blaine replied, tears in his eyes.

Kurt unwillingly got out and Blaine got out too. They walked hand in hand to the train.

“Blaine you can’t join the army, please.”

“I supported your dreams, can’t you support mine?”

Kurt gave Blaine a hug, which lead to a kiss. What if this was the last time they saw each other?

Blaine’s hand was tightly in-twined in Kurt’s and didn’t want to let go. But he had to.

“Goodbye Kurt.”

“Goodbye Blaine.” Kurt replied tears streaming down his face.

Blaine ran along with the train for a few meters but then he was gone. Kurt had lost Blaine and Blaine had lost Kurt.
