Chapter 5

Kurt was walking down the street with two big brown bags, after making his purchases at the grocery shop. He had planned a French menu for tonight, so he got different types of cheese for the appetizer and decided to make two quiches as main course, one of them vegetarian for Rachel; and finally a chocolate soufflé for dessert, which was one of his specialties. He would have loved buying a bottle of champagne, but he knew he shouldn't waste so much money. NYADA was very expensive and his dad had had a bunch of medical bills last year.

He felt so happy, though. It had been almost a month since the last time he saw Santana and Quinn, and he really missed them. Specially Santana, he had had so much fun mocking Rachel when they were living together. Kurt smiled at the memory and got lost in his thoughts, just feeling the happiness filling his body.

He arrived home and put the bags on the counter, before looking for Blaine. "Blaine?" he asked, wandering the house. He went to the bedroom and found Blaine in bed, well, he found a lump in the shape of Blaine under the covers.

"Baby, you still in bed?" he sat near him and uncovered his head. Blaine grunted and closed his eyes tightly, before covering them with his hand.

"Hey, what's wrong?" Kurt asked.

"My head... I woke up with this terrible headache and the light is killing me" Blaine whined.

"Oh... my poor Blainey" Kurt kissed his forehead and stood up to close the curtains. "Better?" he asked. Then he took off his shoes, went back to the bed and began to rub Blaine's back.

"Aha..." Blaine said, and relaxed his eyelids. He wrapped one arm around Kurt's waist and rested his head between his belly and his chest. Kurt stroked his hair softly.

"How went your shopping?" Blaine asked, still with his eyes closed.

"Great, you're going to love the food tonight" Kurt whispered. "Listen, I'll get you some Advil and then you'll try to sleep for a while, okay? Have you eaten anything?"

"No... I haven't moved since you leave, but I'm not hungry" Blaine said.

"Okay. I'll be right back, honey" Kurt helped him to put his head on the pillow, walked out the bedroom and came back with a pill and a glass of water and handed it to Blaine.

"Now try to sleep" Kurt said.

"I can't, it hurts so much..." Blaine pouted.

"You're such a baby" Kurt smiled. He lay on his side facing Blaine, caressed his cheek and began to hum a sweet melody.

Five minutes later Blaine's breath became deep and he fall asleep. Kurt's heart melted at the sight, Blaine looked like a puppy when he was sleeping. He got up carefully, covered his boyfriend's shoulders with the blankets and kissed him on the cheek one last time, before going to the kitchen to start making the dough for the quiches.

Blaine slept for almost two hours. It was 1 pm when he woke up and walked to the kitchen still in his pajamas, his stomach grunting. Kurt stood leaning in the counter and reading vogue while some vegetables were boiling in a pot.

"I'm hungry" Blaine said, looking at all the food that was displayed on the kitchen.

Kurt looked up at him and smiled. "Hi beautiful, do you feel better?" he asked.

"Yeah, but I'm hungry" Blaine responded and licked his lips.

"You already said that" Kurt laughed. "Why don't you take a shower while I make you something for lunch?"

"You're doing so many things today, I feel guilty" Blaine approached him.

"Don't be silly, you know I love cooking and taking care of you" Kurt smiled, resting his forehead on Blaine's. "Salad and sandwich is okay?" he asked.

"Mmm yummy..." Blaine smiled.

"Go take that shower then" Kurt said, and slapped Blaine's butt.

"Hey!" Blaine laughed, and hopped to the bathroom happily.

Evening came and their guests started to show up around 6 pm.

"Girls!!" Kurt exclaimed when Quinn and Santana walked through the door, and hugged them tightly. "Aww, how I've missed you!"

"Hey lady Hummel" Santana smiled, and then went to hug Blaine.

"Oh my god I missed your nicknames" Kurt laugh.

"Kurt, can I say that you look more handsome each passing day?" Quinn said smiling widely.

"Liar" Kurt smiled and kissed her on the cheek.

"Don't listen to him, you're absolutely right" Blaine said, and hugged her.

Kurt rolled his eyes and blushed a little. "Come on in, Finn and Rachel are here already".

A while later, the six of them were gathered at the table enjoying the meal.

"Jeez Kurt, I missed so much your delicious plates" Rachel said, after swallowing her last bit of quiche.

"Yeah, my little bro is the best cooker ever" Finn said, tapping Kurt on the shoulder.

"Finn, we are the same age" Kurt laughed.

"Wow, this apartment hasn't been so full of people since last winter" Santana said. "Do you guys remember those days we were locked here because of the snow?" she asked, and took a sip of his water.

"Ugh please, no memories" Rachel said with a grin. "I don't want to remember".

"Me neither" Kurt said, shaking his head.

Quinn, Finn and Blaine looked at each other a little confused. "Why not?" Quinn ventured to ask.

"Oh I'll tell you" Santana said. "Those were the days Rachel thought she was pregnant from plastic boy and Kurt was in denial about his feelings".

"Santana!" Rachel said.

"Well thank you so much!" Kurt said at the same time.

"What?" Santana asked, faking confusion. "Didn't you tell your sweethearts about that?"

"Yes, we did" Rachel said, annoyed. Kurt stayed silent and stood up to pick dessert. Blaine noticed there was something he hadn't told him, but let it go.

"Anyone wants dessert?" Kurt said with a smile, hiding his insecurity, when he got back to the table. He sat down and felt Blaine's hand in his thigh. Kurt looked at him in the eye. "I'll tell you later if you want" he said with a sad smile.

"It's okay" Blaine said, and kissed him on the cheek.

"Well, changing the subject" Finn said. "How are you girls doing? Quinn? We haven't talked in a while".

"I love Yale" Quinn smiled. "Sometimes I still can't believe that I'm there! The classes are hard but great, and I've got some pretty good friends already".

"Does it look like in 'Gilmore Girls'?" Blaine asked.

Quinn laughed. "Well, sort of! It's a beautiful place. Oh, and I met a blonde guy called Logan. You can imagine all the jokes around him" she laughed again.

"Oh, Logan... I was so in love with him. Honey, we need to do another 'Gilmore Girls' marathon" Kurt said to Blaine, who nodded and smiled.

"Aw, look at that. When are you getting married?" Santana said mockingly.

"Santana..." Kurt shook his head but smiled. Of course he wanted to marry Blaine, but it was too soon, they were so young and... well, they were so young.

"They totally look like they're already married" Finn pointed out.

"I agree, I told them a few days ago when I came to visit" Rachel said.

"Okay, okay, we get it" Blaine raised his hands and smiled. He had always dreamed about them getting married in the future, but it was before the break up. Now he wasn't sure if Kurt still wanted to even think about it.

After dessert and a friendly talk that lasted for at least 2 hours, the guests left the apartment. Santana tried to convince the boys to go out and have a drink, but they politely rejected the offer and promised they would go another day before the school started. Kurt had had woken up so early and had spent the whole day cooking, so he was a bit tired. After saying goodbye to the girls and Finn, he went to the table and began putting plates in the sink.

"Nope, you're not doing anything more" Blaine said, and took a plate from Kurt's hands and putting it on the counter.

"But we'll finish earlier if we both-" Kurt said, but Blaine interrupted him.

"Nope" Blaine responded, and gave him a peck.

"But" Kurt insisted.

"Nope" Blaine repeated. He placed his hands on Kurt's shoulders and pushed him to the bathroom. "Go brush your teeth, moisturize and whatever else you do in there every night, put on your pajamas and I'll join you in bed later".

"Best boyfriend ever" Kurt said, and walked to the bathroom. He actually liked the idea.

After finishing the dishes and brushing his teeth, Blaine went to the bedroom and got into the bed with his boyfriend. Kurt hugged him and entwined his legs with Blaine's.

"Thank you for that amazing dinner" Blaine said, and kissed Kurt on the lips.

"You're welcome" Kurt smiled.

"And thank you for taking care of me this morning, you're my favourite nurse in the whole world" he said.

"It was nothing" Kurt giggled. He hugged Blaine tighter and began to kiss him open-mouthly, his hands caressing his back and his hair. They made out for a few minutes until they had to stop for breathing. Kurt looked deeply in Blaine's eyes and sighed.

"A penny for your thoughts?" Blaine said.

"Do you want me to tell you about those things Santana said at dinner?" Kurt asked.

"Only if you want to, baby" Blaine responded, caressing his cheek.

"I do" Kurt said.

"Tell me, then" Blaine said, taking Kurt's hand.

"We spent a snowy day at home last winter. Rachel, Santana," he swallowed before continuing "Adam and me" he stopped and waited for Blaine's reaction to that name, but he found nothing. Blaine kept staring at him with big heart eyes, rubbing his knuckles with his thumb.

"We watched Moulin Rouge" Kurt continued.

"I love that movie" Blaine pointed.

"I know, me too" Kurt smiled. "We watched it and you know, when 'come what may' started I just... I started crying because all that was in my mind was you. I pictured the two of us in the rooftop, decorated just like the elephant in the movie, wearing tuxedos with a black bowtie for you and a white one for me".

"What a detailed dream" Blaine smiled.

"That's because I was imagining..." Kurt continued.

"Our wedding" Blaine smiled.

"Yeah" Kurt smiled too. And that smile was the only thing Blaine needed to confirm that Kurt still wanted to build a life with him, he still dreamed about them getting married and he still thought they were soulmates. Blaine would keep that precious smile in his memory, the one that gave him the knowledge of that he was in front of his future husband.

"It's going to happen" Blaine whispered.

"It's going to happen" Kurt repeated.

I think this was my favorite chapter so far. I love Santana and her snark. It was awesome to see them bring up the weekend they were snowed in and to mention "Come What May". That performance was one of my all-time favorite Glee moments and definitely my favorite Klaine duet. I was happy to see you add it in the story and I can't wait to see what happens next.

Thank you so so so much for your reviews! I'm so sorry I'm not writting right now, I was busy and couldn't find any inspiration... I'm trying a new chapter this weekend :) I'm so glad you like it, that means a lot to me, thank you! :D
