Chapter 3
The next day Blaine woke up earlier than Kurt, which was really unusual. Blaine rarely got the opportunity to watch Kurt waking up, so he decided to enjoy the moment. He looked at his boyfriend, who was lying face down with an arm below the pillow, the blankets covering half of his bare back. They usually slept only in their pajama pants, especially in summer time. Blaine wanted to rub that perfect and pale skin, but he refrained because Kurt was a very light sleeper; just one touch and he'd be awake. Blaine took a look to their bedroom and spotted his phone illuminating on the vanity. It could be something important, since he was waiting a call from NYADA to confirm some last minute details, so he began to slid out of the bed very carefully to grab his phone. He had one leg hanging on the edge when he felt something grabbing the elastic of his pants.
"Don't you dare" Kurt mumbled without opening his eyes, his face half buried in the pillow. He had grabbed Blaine's pants and started pulling.
Blaine chuckled and turned around. "You're awake?"
"Sure I am, and I know you've been watching me sleep for several minutes" he sighed.
"I like watching you while you're sleeping"
"I know. Creepy"
Blaine giggled and leaned in to give Kurt little kisses on the small part on his face that wasn't covered by the pillow. "Open your eyes" he whispered, kissing Kurt's eyelid.
"Mmm no" he said moving closer to him, resting his head on his chest and entwining one leg with Blaine's.
Blaine hugged him and began stroking his hair. "You're the cutest thing when you're sleepy" he said, and kissed the top of his head.
Kurt kissed Blaine's collarbone softly and took a deep breath. This felt like heaven. The two of them loved this kind of moments, when they were just themselves, just Kurt and Blaine. And this was only the first of many perfect moments they would share in that apartment.
The couple stayed in bed for half an hour more, and after sharing a long shower they decided to go out for brunch. They walked hand in hand under the hot sun, looking for a nice café.
"Wow it's so hot" Kurt said, waving his free hand near to his face. He was wearing a white thin linen shirt and the sleeves were rolled up to his mid-forearms.
"Yes, isn't it great?" Blaine said happily.
"No, it's not. It's so hot I can't wear any jacket, or foulard or a simple tie, I feel naked without my accessories" he complained.
"You don't need them to look perfect, though" Blaine said, giving a squeeze to Kurt's hand.
"Yeah, look who's talking. The bowtie whore" Kurt laughed.
"You're so evil! I'm not a bowtie whore... anymore" They both burst into laugh.
They saw a pretty neat café and walked in, the smell of freshly baked bagels filled the room. Kurt chose a table near the window and immediately started reading the menu while licking his lips hungrily.
"Someone's hungry, huh?" Blaine said, taking a look to his own menu.
"Mmm I think I want poached eggs, and a bagel... ooh the strawberries look delicious" Kurt said, lifting his head and looking at the bar were the food was. "... and maybe a little piece of cheesecake later... and coffee and orange juice for sure".
"Okay, same for me" Blaine said, raising his eyebrows and smiling.
The waiter noted everything and after fifteen minutes they were enjoying their meals.
"Well, well, well... Look who is here" a really familiar voice came from behind Blaine's chair. Kurt looked up and almost choked in his juice. Blaine turned around.
"Sebastian?" He said, surprised. "Wh-what are you doing here?"
"Hi Blaine, Kurt" Sebastian said with his usual cocky smile. "I was in the neighborhood and I suddenly spotted a pair of familiar hazel eyes through that window" he pointed to Blaine's eyes and to the window as he spoke. "But the real question is, what are you two doing here?"
"Having brunch?" Kurt said sharply, faking a smile.
Blaine took Kurt's hand on the table, trying to comfort him.
"I got accepted at NYADA and we're living here now. Together" Blaine said, and winked at Kurt.
"Aw, isn't this cute?" Sebastian said, looking at their intertwined hands with a grin on his face. "I thought you did break up last year".
Kurt felt the impulse to punch him right in the face. He pressed his lips together before shooting a death glare to Sebastian.
"We got back together a few months later" Blaine said, feeling the tension in Kurt's hand.
"Oh I see... and you are living together? Where?"
"Well, we live..." Blaine began to say, but Kurt interrupted him "Not far away from here". He glanced at a confused Blaine.
Sebastian immediately noticed it. "Fine... I have to go, I hope I see you soon" he said, running his fingers surreptitiously trough Blaine's arm and finally tapping him on the shoulder. Kurt watched him leave the café wishing he could actually push him onto the floor with his gaze.
"What. An. Asshole" Kurt said, when the couple came back to their apartment. "I really thought for a moment that I wouldn't have to see that little meerkat face never again" he complained, almost throwing his bag onto the counter of the kitchen.
"Honey calm down, you're overreacting" Blaine said, extending his hands to Kurt' shoulders.
"Blaine, please. And you almost said to him where do we live, I don't want him to know that" He lift his hands to stop Blaine before he could touch him. He leaned on the counter and Blaine sat on the table in front of him, looking at the taller boy sadly.
Kurt sighed and closed his eyes. "I'm sorry" He approached Blaine and hugged him tightly. "I'm so sorry baby, I'm not mad at you".
Blaine pulled away to look at his boyfriend in the eye. "It's okay" he kissed the tip of his nose. "You haven't seen him in almost a year and a half, your reaction is totally comprehensible. I guess I'm used to him, I mean I have seen him a few times in the Lima Bean during the year, but..."
"So he still lives there" Kurt said, the corner of his lips raising a little.
"I think he does, yes" Blaine laughed.
They pressed their lips together and smiled into the kiss. Kurt circled Blaine's neck with his arms and sighed.
"Hey, wanna watch a movie? Then I can bake you those cookies I promised yesterday" Blaine said in a low voice, gripping Kurt's hips gently. "How does that sound?"
"Sounds perfect" Kurt answered with a wide smile.
They cuddled on the sofa and watched "500 days of summer", one of their favorite movies.
Watching a movie with Kurt was always a challenge, he really liked to make comments and he always memorized the dialogs, sometimes he also liked to say every line of his favorite scenes aloud. Most people would find this annoying, but Blaine loved it. So Kurt spend most of the time quoting and making dozens of comments like "we should totally play like that at IKEA one day", "I always wonder what they are doing exactly in that shower" or "god, that girl is such an attention whore". They both were sitting and Kurt ended up lying with his legs on Blaine's lap, who was caressing them without even noticing.
When the movie ended Blaine yawned and stretched, resting his head on the back of the sofa and closing his eyes. Kurt sat up and straddled him, making Blaine's eyes open in surprise.
"Hey you" Blaine said, and lift his head to kiss Kurt.
Kurt pulled away and put a finger on Blaine's lips. "Cookies" he said.
Blaine laughed and kissed Kurt's finger. "Okay" He grabbed Kurt by his tights and got up, carrying him.
"Blaine! What are you doing!?" Kurt exclaimed, as he embraced his legs around Blaine's waist.
"Nothing, sweetheart" He walked to the kitchen area and sat Kurt on the counter before giving a little kiss to his cheek. "I need your help".
"No you don't, you know how to bake cookies" Kurt said, shaking his head.
"But you're an expert chef, and I get bored every time I cook, and most important, you look really cute with an apron" Blaine pouted, and gave Kurt those damn puppy eyes.
"Flatterer" Kurt said, glaring at Blaine. "I can wear an apron, sit at the table and read Vogue. Do you want me to read aloud so you don't get bored?" He said with a sarcastic look.
"No... I like the photos but I don't actually read the articles" Blaine said, knowing that this would annoy him.
As he expected, Kurt gave him a bitchy glare. "Then put on some music, stop complaining and bake. Go!" He said, snatching his fingers (on purpose, of course) and containing a smile.
"Bossy. I'll put disco, ha!" Blaine said, with a diva face.
Kurt laughed. "Well played, Anderson, well played" he nodded.
"Blaine 1, Kurt 0" Blaine smiled to himself with that little proud face he used to make every time he won something. He put some music on and started gathering ingredients.
"Hon, you have like four different types of flour in here, which one should I use?"
"The one on your left" he said, without taking his eyes from the magazine.
"I need both white sugar and brown sugar, right?"
"Right, baby"
"Do you want some white chocolate chips mixed with these or...?"
"Those are okay" Kurt sighed.
"Where do you keep the greaseproof paper...?"
"Enough. I'm helping you" Kurt said, tossing the magazine on the table and taking his apron.
Blaine smiled like a little kid who had just won playing a silly game, and Kurt couldn't help but smile too.
They baked their cookies and played a little with the ingredients, both of their faces ended up stained with flour and Kurt grumbled a couple of times, when he saw Blaine sitting on the counter not doing anything but eat chocolate chips.
"You're such a child" he said, removing the plastic bag from his hands.
"But they're delicious! There, take one" Blaine said, approaching a chocolate chip to his boyfriend's lips.
Kurt took it with his teeth and bit Blaine's fingers.
"Ouch! Are you trying to eat me or what?"
"Yes, I wanna eat your..." he waited for Blaine to fall into the trap.
"My...?" Blaine whispered seductively.
"Cookies!" he exclaimed, and then burst into laugh. "Kurt 1, Blaine 1".
This was so cute. It was so much fun to see them be domestic and to see them baking cookies and joking around with each other. I loved the "bow-tie whore" comment.
