Chapter 2

The next morning, Blaine woke up finding he was alone in bed. He took Kurt's pillow without even opening his eyes and brought it to his face, inhaling his boyfriends' scent. He didn't like waking up without Kurt by his side, so he decided to wait there for him. A few minutes later, Kurt appeared in their bedroom carrying a tray with their breakfast, and smiled at the image of Blaine hugging his pillow. He placed the tray on the bed and leaned in to whisper in Blaine's ear.

"Hey sleeping beauty" he said, before kissing his boyfriend's temple.

"Hmm hi..." Blaine answered, sleepy. He opened his eyes and looked up at Kurt, who was now lying on his side, playing with Blaine's curls absent-mindedly.

"Did you sleep well?" Kurt asked, smiling.

"Mhmm, yeah" Blaine nod. "Where were you?" He set aside the pillow and reached out a hand pulling Kurt closer to him.

"I woke up earlier so I made breakfast" he sat up and took the tray, Blaine's arm still around his waist.

"Aw... you didn't have to, you're spoiling me" Blaine said, looking at the tray.

Kurt giggled and brought a raspberry to Blaine's lips. "Want some?" Blaine opened his mouth and Kurt slid the fruit in. "Delicious" Blaine said, sitting up.

They ate their breakfast in bed, enjoying each other and talking about their plans for the day.

"I think we should finish unpacking my things, there are a couple of boxes left" Blaine said, sipping his coffee.

"Yup. And then maybe we can go out and have lunch?" Kurt asked. "I know an italian restaurant I want to show you".

"Sounds like a plan. Now go and take a shower, I'm doing the dishes".

After showering and dressing up, the couple was sitting on the sofa, opening the last two boxes. Blaine took a bunch of music sheets and started putting them on a shelf with Kurt's. Kurt opened a box, and the first thing he saw was a stuffed dog, the one he got Blaine on his Senior Ditch Day. He chuckled and took it out of the box. "Margaret Thatcher's dog?"

Blaine turned around to look at Kurt. "Were you expecting me to leave my cute little puppy in Ohio?" he said with a grin on his face.

"Oh no, of course not" Kurt answered shaking his head, and placed the dog on the sofa.

And then he saw it. A smaller box, decorated with bowties and scarves drawings, and two big letters on the top of it: K and B.

"Blaine? What is this?" Kurt asked (although he actually knew), placing the box in his lap.

Blaine walked to the sofa and sat next to him. "Um that's a... that's a memories box" he said, blushing a little.

"Can I open it?" Kurt said, looking at him.

"Of course you can, it's just-there are a couple of silly things in there".

Kurt opened the box and started to take things out of it. Some photos of them, cinema tickets, Teenage Dream music sheet...

"Blaine this is so sweet... Oh, your Dalton tie?" he asked, taking the red and navy accessory.

"Actually it's yours" Blaine said, containing a playfully smile.

"Mine?" Kurt frowned. "I had two Dalton ties and I still have them".

"Yup. Do you remember that night we spent rehearsing "Animal" for our sexy week?"

"Yes I do, I fell asleep in your bedroom and I woke up the next morning completely embarrassed" Kurt said, biting his lip.

Blaine giggled. "Exactly, you ran away before I even got up. But you fell asleep earlier than me, so I exchanged our ties. You left with mine and I got yours".

"What?" Kurt laughed. "So you did it on purpose, but why?"

"I don't know" Blaine shrugged. "I liked you, and I thought it would be funny?"

"You're crazy" Kurt shook his head.

"I'm crazy about you" Blaine said, touching Kurt's nose with his own.

"Cheesy" Kurt rolled his eyes.

"You love it" Blaine said, and gave him a quick peck.

Kurt kept taking things out of the box, while Blaine explained some of them to him. There was a Lima Bean cup, the one Blaine had in his hands when he first said "I love you" to Kurt, the flower he wore on his jacket in junior prom, and two more flowers, a red one and a yellow one, from the bunch Kurt gave him after his audition for West Side Story. There was also the ticket of the rink where they were ice skating last Christmas, and the hotel room key-card from Valentine's Day. Kurt took the card and smiled remembering that night.

"Fun night, huh?" Blaine asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Yeah, it was" He said, giggling and blushing. Blaine loved how he still could make his boyfriend blush.

"We danced... we sang..." Blaine said, taking Kurt's hand and running his thumb over his knuckles. "What else? I can't remember"

"You're so dumb" Kurt said, slapping Blaine on the nose with the card.

"Dumb? Why? Oh I see... You can't remember either" Blaine sighed.

"I do!" Kurt complained.

"Do you remember..." Blaine approached and whispered in his ear "...the car?"

Kurt shivered. "A-ha, I do. It was a Prius".

"Do you remember how small the backseat was?" Blaine said, nuzzling his nose into Kurt's neck.

Kurt licked his lips and sighed, closing his eyes. "Y-Yeah, it was so small".

"It was so small you had to..." He placed a kiss in Kurt's neck. "...lie on top of me".

"Mhmm..." was Kurt's answer.

"You looked gorgeous that night. I couldn't take my eyes off of you. Do you remember the room? We had some fun in there".

Kurt swallowed, unable to articulate any word. Blaine took Kurt's chin with his free hand and began to kiss him intensely. He ran his hand through Kurt's face and finally placed it in the back of Kurt's head, pulling him closer. Kurt unbuttoned his jeans, feeling the pressure of his growing erection when suddenly, they heard a knock on the door.

"Well this sounds pretty familiar to me" Kurt said, frustrated.

Blaine laughed. "Coming!" He said while standing up and going to the door. "Rachel!" Blaine smiled and hugged her. "Come on in".

"Hi Blaine! I heard you were moving in these days so I came to say hello!" She said. "Hi Kurt, how are you?" She walked to the sofa and kissed Kurt on the cheek.

"Hey Rach" Kurt answered, taking a cushion and placing it on his lap, trying to hide his boner. "I'm fine, we are almost done with the unpacking".

"Aaw you two look so cute, like newlyweds".

"Wow, not so fast" Kurt said, chuckling. Blaine looked down to the floor, smiling to himself.

"We were going to have lunch at that Italian restaurant near here. Wanna come with us?" Kurt asked their friend.

"Sure, I hadn't any plans" She answered, nodding.

Rachel, Kurt and Blaine had a great Italian meal chatting about New York and NYADA, most of the time Kurt and Rachel giving advice to the soon NYADA freshman. They talked about extra-curricular activities, Miss July's dance class, schedules, warnings, everything. They also talked about Midnight Madness and Blaine seemed really into it.

"I'd love to participate in a Midnight Madness, sounds great" Blaine said, enthusiastically.

"Well it's fun, but you know, it's not that awesome" Rachel frowned.

"You're only saying that because I blew you away that night, Miss Berry" Kurt said with a grin.

"Okay, I won't deny that" Rachel said, giving Kurt a bitch glare.

"I would have killed to be there, I've never seen a HummelBerry diva-off" Blaine said, pouting his lower lip.

Rachel and Kurt looked at him and then to each other with a knowing look.

"Maybe one day, sweetheart" Kurt promised Blaine.

After the meal, Rachel decided to give the couple the rest of their day alone. She had to meet Finn at 4 to go to Ikea and get some furniture they needed for their new apartment, since Kurt kept almost everything from Bushwick. The couple hugged her goodbye and headed back to their apartment.

Blaine's memories box was left on the coffee table. He gathered all the items inside it and turned to Kurt. "So where can I place this?"

"It can live with my own memories box" Kurt said, smiling. He took the box from Blaine's hands and walked to the bedroom.

"You have one too?" Blaine asked, following him.

"Do you not know me, Blaine? Of course I have one. I've been collecting things since the day we met. I mean, I'm not saying that I always knew we'd become boyfriends someday, but... well, sort of". Kurt said, glaring at Blaine. He took a box from under the bed and showed it to him. It was a little bigger than Blaine's, and instead of their initials, the word "Klaine" was written on it.

"Can I take a look?" Blaine asked, extending his hands.

"Sure" Kurt said, handing him the box and sitting on the bed.

Blaine kicked off his shoes, sat on the bed and leaned against the headboard. "C'mere" he said to the taller boy, smiling widely.

Kurt took off his Prada boots and placed them carefully beside the bed, before climbing up and sitting in between Blaine's legs, his back against his lover's chest. Blaine kissed Kurt on the head and opened the box.

"Wow you have a lot of things here" Blaine said.

"Well, it's been more than three years, hon. I never stopped collecting things, even when... you know" Kurt said hesitatingly, he didn't like to remember being apart from the love of his life.

"That's so sweet, I thought you kinda... hated me" Blaine said, a sad look starting to form.

"I've never hated you, Blaine. Never". Kurt turned around to look Blaine right in the eye, before kissing him softly. "I love you, okay? I've never stopped loving you, I just... I didn't know for a while".

"I love you too" Blaine said, tightening the embrace and containing the tears. He still felt guilty sometimes.

"And don't feel guilty, it was a year ago. Okay?" Kurt said, caressing Blaine's cheek with his palm.

"Okay". Kurt knew him so well, Blaine thought.

Kurt was taking things of the box and looking at them happily. He showed to Blaine some decorations he kept from Pavarotti's casket, a notebook page with their names written on it inside of a red heart, his Prom Queen crown...

"Oh, this is my favourite. Do you remember?" Kurt said, showing Blaine a little red box. He opened it to reveal the paper promise ring.

Blaine laughed. "Yeah, I do remember making this..." He took the ring carefully and smiled.

"Do you know what I'm remembering right now?" Kurt said, narrowing his eyes.

"What?"

"You promised to bake me cookies at least twice a year, and well... It's August 21th and you haven't done it yet" He said, teasingly.

Blaine couldn't help but laugh. "Okay, okay. I'm baking you cookies tomorrow" He said, and kissed his lovely boy on the shoulder. He felt truly happy.

This was so much fun. It was great to see the boys spend time with Rachel and to see them go through the items in their relationship memory boxes.
