Both the boys stood in their own silence surrounded by other peoples noise. Neither of them moved. Blaine looked at Kurt but not just the regular way you would look at someone. He really LOOKED at him to see him for real.
Blaine couldn’t believe he was finally meeting him. He had planned this scenario so many times in his head but nothing could equate to how magnificent Blaine was feeling. Kurt’s skin was flushed red and he still had the phone to his ear. His jeans were skin tight (Blaine had defiantly noticed this) and he wore an expression on his face that said more than words.
Blaine was first to break away from the look they were sharing between them but only to take his hand away from his ear and to pocket his phone. Kurt mirrored his actions.
“Kurt” Blaine whispered. He had been holding his breath without even realising it.
“Hi” Kurt repeated as he came closer to Blaine. They now stood about a foot apart from each other.
“You’re real…” Blaine couldn’t help but say to himself. Kurt gave a giggle, “Of course I am you dork.”
“Hey! I told you I’m not a dork” Kurt laughed.
Blaine tried to remember this moment. He tried to savour every second of it. From the light soprano of Kurt’s laugh to how amazing Kurt really did look in those pants.
“Thanks for not leaving” Blaine whispered nervously.
Kurt winked and gave him a smile that seemed to be glued to his face causing Blaine to smile as well. It was infectious. “I’m glad I didn’t” Kurt stage whispered back whilst pulling Blaine into a hug.
The boys collapsed into each other breathing in to familiarise themselves with the other boy.
The point where two friends would pull away from a hug had been reached but neither Blaine nor Kurt did so. But they weren’t two ordinary ‘friends’ Blaine thought.
“Well,” Blaine said after finally let each other go. “I bought you a treat” He smiled a toothy grin again and Kurt felt like he was on the edge of tears.
“I thought we were finished with that by now?” Kurt questioned though he couldn’t stop grinning.
“Never”
Blaine went to grab Kurt’s arm just as Kurt did and their hands brushed slightly injecting an ever growing amount of red into Kurt’s cheeks. He was nervous. Kurt never felt nervous yet the butterflies in his stomach proved him wrong. Blaine grabbed Kurt’s hand and pulled him over to a quieter part of the park and under a huge tree in the shade lay a picnic.
It was complete with at red and white checked rug and a basket full of goodies.
“Blaine...” Kurt started
“Shhhh” Blaine retorted winking at him. “This didn’t take me to long believe it or not. I am however a master chef and the food is amazing”
“Oh I’m sure. Wait, is that...” He said trailing off.
“Yeah, that’s Oscar...” Blaine said feigning guilt and hanging his head in mock shame.
Kurt nudged Blaine’s side with his hip teasing them as they sat down and Oscar came to lie beside them.
Both Blaine and Kurt were sat next to each other with their backs against the tree arms almost touching and they began rifling through the picnic basket.
“And you must be Oscar” Kurt said ruffling Bradshaw’s fur. “If I had known this was a play date Blaine...” Kurt mocked.
Blaine wiggled his eye brows then laughed. “Don’t be jealous of Oscar Kurt.”
“Me? Jealous? I don’t think so! My cat is number one priority here! Sorry Blaine!” He teased sticking his tongue out at Blaine.
Blaine had got everything out of the picnic basket and was laying it out on the rug as both the boys dug in and the convocation flowed freely.
Oscar had wandered off behind the tree and both the boys could hear him digging a hole into the ground.
“That, Blaine Theodore, was truly amazing. And it is lovely to finally meet you might I add” Kurt announced as he finished.
“Pleasure is mine Kurt Hummel.” Blaine said taking his hand in his grip squeezing it tight. “Oh stop, my head will get to big” Blaine joked. “But all seriousness Kurt, you are the one looking gorgeous this afternoon. I’ve been waiting so long to see you and hear your voice and here you are.” Blaine spoke slower locking eye contact with Kurt.
“Blaine” Kurt said. “I’m here. And you’re here. Everything’s perfect now.” Kurt was well aware the park had emptied and Blaine and he were alone. Well besides from Oscar.
Blaine half smiled. “Like I said, my head is getting bigger by the second.” He laughed but Kurt could tell his heart wasn’t in it.
Kurt raised an eyebrow and turned to face Blaine so they were both sat opposite one another with their legs crossed.
Blaine took Kurt’s hands in his and Kurt gripped tightly.
“Don’t let go.” Kurt said, barely audible, looking down.
“Never” Blaine whispered as he leant forward and their lips touched.
Kurt smiled into their kiss as he felt his heart give a squeeze. Blaine kissed him like Kurt had never been kissed before and their lips melted into one another’s
Blaine’s tongue traced Kurt’s upper lip before brushing Kurt’s tongue.
Blaine felt Kurt’s soft hands stroke his face and as they moved to run his through his hair and Blaine did the same thing. Blaine retraced Kurt’s lips as if he was trying to memorise every detail about the boy in his arms who he loved.
Blaine pulled away from the kiss as Kurt mock pouted his lips so he planted another quick kiss on Blaine and Blaine grinned.
“I’m glad my friends are so nosy they set us up” Kurt said smiling and shuffling round to lean against the tree weaving his finger through Blaine’s.
“Me too” Blaine said grinning the cheesiest grin Kurt swore he had ever seen.
They continued to stay under their tree occasionally stealing kisses from each other and laughing at things they each said until their sides hurt and before they knew it, it began to get dark.
They slowly packed up the picnic, put the leash back on Oscar, and made their way from the park hand in hand.
Kurt waited with Blaine for a Taxi home.
Kurt could see a yellow Taxi rounding the corner and coming towards them.
Blaine put down the picnic basket looping Oscar’s leash around his wrist allowing him to wrap his arms around Kurt’s waist.
“Meet me tomorrow?” He said quietly.
“Of course” Kurt said smiling. As the taxi pulled up Kurt leaned in to kiss Blaine.
Kurt moaned when Blaine pulled away. “I’ll text you” Blaine said as followed Oscar into the taxi.
“I’ll be waiting love” Kurt said smiling as their hands broke away and the door closed.
The yellow car pulled away and Kurt stood there watching it go with Blaine waving out the back window.
