Blaine was the most clearheaded he’d felt in days when he woke up the day after Kurt left. He was still on pain medication, but not nearly as strong of stuff. His mother doted on him, bringing him everything he wanted (and some stuff he didn’t) before leaving Blaine to lounge around and watch movies.

Kurt had gotten together a collection of, as he’d put it, “Finn Hudson approved pirate movies” and Blaine set about watching them. He hated this – he couldn’t really read which meant that texting, the internet, books and all that were totally not options for him to pass the time. He was off work indefinitely, production still on hold until the cast was healed up.

Basically Blaine had movies and TV to entertain him and, oh, was he bored after the first few hours.

It also annoyed him that he kept falling asleep. He found it a struggle at several points to stay awake, repeatedly drifting off throughout the day. Blaine was a go getter, a ‘doer.’ He wasn’t the type to lie around helpless in bed and being reduced to that was going to drive him insane, he just knew it.

Needless to say, he was a little stir crazy when his mother came in and told him that Kurt had called, requesting that she help Blaine log on to Skype so they could talk. Blaine bounced on the bed, excited as his mother hooked up the laptop, logged in for him, and then handed it to him.

Kurt’s smiling face was all he could see.

“Hi,” Blaine said. “I miss you.”

I miss you, too,” Kurt replied. “How are you doing?

“’I’m bored, mostly,” Blaine told him. “I’m basically stuck in bed and I can’t read or be online because my depth perception is messed up. I’m stuck with movies and TV, and did you know there is absolutely nothing on during the day?”

Kurt chuckled. “It’ll just be for a few weeks, Blaine. I’m sure you’ll be up and around in no time.

“Yes, but I had all these plans…” Blaine muttered. The Golden Globes were coming up, and he had had intentions of taking Kurt as his date – that was out now, as well as any thoughts of him flying to Ohio for Valentine’s Day. He sighed.

I know,” Kurt murmured. “You’ll make it though. I have faith in you.

“You have no idea how much I needed to hear that,” Blaine sighed.

When do you go back to the doctor?” Kurt asked. That hadn’t been scheduled before he’d left and Blaine had a feeling Kurt had been worrying about it.

“In a couple of days,” he answered. “They want to check the swelling and stuff like that.”

Call me after and let me know how it goes,” Kurt requested.

“You don’t even have to ask,” Blaine said. The conversation faltered for a moment and then Kurt bit his lip. “What’s going on?”

I have something to tell you,” Kurt replied.

Kurt took a deep breath, wondering how Blaine would react to the news. “Well now you’re just freaking me out, so tell me already.” Blaine looked worried.

“When I got home yesterday, there were two letters waiting for me.” Kurt had waited almost a whole day before calling Blaine and telling him the news. He’d wanted Blaine to get settled at home, let some of the horror of his surgery wear off before hitting him with this.

Still, there were deadlines and decisions to be made and Kurt had to tell him.

NYADA?” Blaine whispered.

Kurt nodded. “And UDACA.”

Did you open them?” Blaine asked, leaning forward.

“Yeah.” Kurt felt breathless, lifting the letters with trembling hands. “I got in.”

Kurt, that’s amazing!” Blaine cheered, grinning. He looked kind of rakish with the eye patch and the wide smile. Kurt felt himself grin too. “To both places?

Kurt nodded again. “Yeah,” he confirmed. “I have to call and schedule my auditions with them. He frowned, thinking about how this would go – because it meant that UDACA could no longer be a secret.

He had to tell Rachel.

What?” Blaine wanted to know.

“I have to tell Rachel,” Kurt replied. “And she’s going to be upset. Upset that I applied without telling her, upset that I might go to California without her.”

She’ll understand, Kurt,” Blaine reassured him. “She might be upset at first, but if she’s really your friend, she’ll support you no matter what.

“You think so?”

Blaine smiled. “I really do.” He laughed. “This is amazing.

“It is, isn’t it?” Kurt let out a laugh of his own. “You should have seen my dad when I told him. He danced around the living room. I’ll be scarred for life because of it.”

Blaine was still laughing, but it sounded forced and Kurt knew that Blaine was thinking of his own father, and how Carl Anderson had never supported any of his dreams. Kurt sighed. “Have you heard from your dad?”

Blaine shook his head. “No, and I don’t want to.” He was frowning now. “I’m done with him. He doesn’t want to support me and the life that I want, so he doesn’t need to be a part of it.

“What does your mother say?”

She says that I need to give him time,” Blaine muttered. “I’ve given him time - three freaking years of time, Kurt.

“I know, sweetie,” Kurt consoled him. “I know.”

It doesn’t matter,” Blaine brushed it off. “What matters is us and our future together, and that you get into both of those schools.

“Oh, gee, no pressure,” Kurt teased. Blaine looked a little shameful.

Sorry, I just… I’m excited and I want everything to work out so we can be together,” Blaine told him. “I’ll be proud of you and love you no matter what happens.

“Same here,” Kurt replied, feeling a little teary. It had been a long week – Blaine’s accident, the daunting idea of actually going to college, the possibility of everything he’d dreamed of just falling into his lap – and it had been overwhelming, to say the least.

They talked for another hour, exchanging audition ideas (Kurt was leaning toward Phantom of the Opera, Blaine suggesting ideas from Wicked) until Kurt noticed that Blaine was struggling to stay awake.

“I should let you get some sleep,” Kurt told him.

No,” Blaine protested, dragging out the word. “I slept all day, I don’t need sleep.” Kurt watched with a fond smile as Blaine choked back a yawn.

“Yes, you do,” Kurt said. “I need to do my homework anyway. I’ll call you tomorrow, okay?”

Blaine mumbled his agreement. “Tell me how it goes with Rachel.

Kurt promised he would and then logged out of the chat. He picked up his acceptance letters and let out a quiet shriek of excitement.

His dreams were so close he could almost taste them.

LOL, thank you! :D

Can I just say I both love and loath knowing the when you update this fic. I love it because then i know exactly when to cme back and check for more supurb updates, but I hate the waiting inbetween the days. the wait from Wednesday to Monday is particularly brutal but then there is a glimmer of joy reading the next chapter, folowed by the knowlege that I need to wait to catch tha next glimmer of joy. So in a slightly drawn out way of saying it, this fic is awesome and I anxiously await the next installment

Me? Have something up my sleeve? Perish the thought. :) Thank you!

Oh Kurt. Honey. Let me hug you. At least he got two acceptance letters. But I can understand that he's really not looking forward to having that conversation with Rachel xD Too bad Blaine won't be able to make it to the Globes or in time for Valentine... Though I have a feeling you might have something up your sleeve for that xD Main thing is that they stay as cute as they are right now xD

I just knew he would get into both schools!

You'll have to wait and see!! :) Thanks!

What a great distraction from my studying! I'm really interested to see how Rachel reacts to the news. I'm sad about Golden Globes and Valentine's day, but I'm hoping you'll do like the show did and Blaine pops up unexpectedly to see Kurt on Valentine's day. Great update! Can't wait for next week!

LOL, he'll get into a college. :DThanks!

If he doesn't get into NYADA in here too I might just punch a wall =.= Please please please fix what Glee did and let him get into his dream colleges? He deserve it; he's totally good enough, and we all know it.Also - tumblr reactions *-*

I was disapointed with this chapter. very boring.

I'm sorry you felt that way. Thanks!

I debated long and hard about what school Kurt would get in to. :DThanks!
