“I have nothing to wear.”

Blaine looked at Kurt who was staring down at a mound of clothes on the bed. He combed the last of the gel through his hair and then approached Kurt. “There are tons of clothes here.”

“Yes, but none of them are right to wear on national television, Blaine,” Kurt explained. “Is that what you’re wearing?”

Blaine glanced down at his outfit - jeans and a polo shirt with loafers. “Yes?” It came out as a question because he was kind of afraid of Kurt’s reaction.

Kurt hummed under his breath, and then smiled. “I know just the thing!” he crowed, digging through the pile on the bed. Soon he was dressed in a pair of distressed jeans, a white long sleeve shirt and a black vest.

They set off for, arriving in plenty of time to be ushered into hair and makeup. “What did your parents say when you told them about the interview?”

Kurt had called his parents that morning to tell them about it – Blaine had even spoken to them, and they’d congratulated him on his win.

He’d forgotten what it was like to have a father be proud of his accomplishments and it was a little startling for Kurt’s dad to be so enthused about it. “They were excited, though my dad is nervous that too much exposure is a bad thing.” Kurt replied. “Carole says she’s going to tape it. She taped everything she could get hands on last night, and spent time online downloading stuff too.”

“Wow,” Blaine laughed.

“I know, but hey, it’s not every day you’re interviewed by Ellen or Ryan Seacrest or admit that you’re dating a TV star,” Kurt teased Blaine.

“Funny,” Blaine muttered.

“I thought so.”

A knock on the door interrupted them. Ellen popped her head in after Blaine called out that it was okay to enter. “Hey, boys,” she greeted, stepping inside.

“Oh, my God,” Blaine heard Kurt murmur under his breath.

“How’s it going, Blaine?” Ellen asked, shaking Blaine’s hand.

“Good,” Blaine answered. “Ellen, this is my boyfriend, Kurt.”

“It’s so nice to meet you,” Kurt said, shaking her hand as well.

“We’re going to keep it simple – talk about the Emmys, talking about Dalton coming back, talk about the tour, then bring out Kurt and talk about you guys for a few.” They both nodded. “Are either of you opposed to singing today?”

Blaine glanced at Kurt. “We haven’t really planned anything,” Blaine told her.

“Here’s a list of songs we’ve got the rights to – look through it and let me know.” Ellen’s producer handed them the list. “We’ll see you out there, in the meantime, have fun with the cameras.”

“Cameras?” Kurt asked, once she’d left.

“Flip cameras in the green room. We can make our own little movies.”

“Ah,” Kurt commented. “So, song?”

“Ladies and Gentlemen, Blaine Anderson,” Ellen introduced. Kurt accepted the quick kiss Blaine planted on his lips and then Blaine danced his way out to greet Ellen. “A lot has changed since I saw you last,” Ellen began as soon as they were seated.

“Yes,” Blaine laughed. “A lot of things.”

“For one, you are now one of the youngest Emmy award winners.”

“I am,” Blaine agreed.

“What was it like, when they called your name?”

“I couldn’t believe it,” Blaine answered. “I think was in shock for about thirty seconds and then I remember I had to go up on stage to get it.” The audience laughed.

“We actually have a clip of that,” Ellen said, and a screen popped up in between them. Blaine sat there and watched as his name was called, how he kissed Kurt and then went up to give his speech. “Your speech was amazing.”

“That’s crazy,” Blaine said. “I look insane,” he laughed again. “I haven’t had a chance to see this yet.”

“Now that you’ve got your Emmy, where are you going to put it?”

“I’m not sure yet,” Blaine admitted. “It might get its own spot of honor in the living room somewhere.”

“I have one in every room in the house,” Ellen said, and the audience laughed. “My cats are so tired of tripping over them.” More laughter. Blaine chuckled as well. “Let’s talk about Dalton for a second,” Ellen steered the conversation. “You guys just came off the tour.”

“We did!” Blaine exclaimed. “We had a forty-five city tour and it was amazing. We met so many great fans and the cities we stopped were fantastic.”

“And copies of one of the performances, I think the Cleveland show, are available on DVD, right?”

Blaine nodded. “I think it’s that one, yes.”

“So what’s coming up for James this season?”

“Well, he’s just settling in and finding out what it’s like to have a boyfriend,” Blaine replied. “And of course, singing and dancing and general Warbler mayhem.”

“The cast went crazy tweeting you congratulations last night,” Ellen commented.

“They did,” Blaine confirmed. “It was amazing.”

“So let’s move on,” she continued, “And talk about Kurt.” Blaine grinned. “Who is Kurt?”

“Kurt is my boyfriend,” Blaine managed to get out before the audience exploded into cheers and screams.

*

Kurt had pretty much held his breath the entire interview, waiting for this moment. In the rehearsal they’d done earlier, he hadn’t been this nervous. He suddenly felt like he couldn't breathe, like he'd forget how to speak the moment he went out there. Then Ellen called his name.

He didn't remember if he danced or not as he headed out onto the set, amidst the audience going insane. Blaine stood up and took his hand, kissed him on the cheek before Kurt sat down next to him.

“Hi,” Ellen greeted him, and the audience cheered again.

“Hi,” Kurt managed to reply. Blaine was holding his hand tightly. He and Blaine were both smile and blushing. Kurt hoped that he didn't look as red as felt – that would be terrible to show up that way on television.

“We're just gonna jump right to the chase here,” Ellen began. “How long have you two been together?”

“On and off since Christmas,” Blaine replied. More cheers from the crowd.

“You said last night during your interviews that you two actually met on Twitter.”

“We did,” Kurt surprised himself by answering. “Someone,” he gave Blaine a pointed but teasing glance, “doesn't know how to direct message people. He ended up tweeting his phone number.”

“Hey, you called it,” Blaine teased right back.

“Is that true?” Ellen wanted to know.

“One of my friends took my phone and dialed. Blaine actually answered – I didn't know what else to do, so I talked to him.” Kurt replied. “After that we became friends and things just... grew from there.”

“Why don't we talk little bit about you for a moment, Kurt,” Ellen suggested. “You're a straight-A student, you're on the cheerleading squad, and you're in your high school glee club.” Kurt nodded. In the background, Kurt could see them running pictures of him in his uniform and with the glee club. “On a scale of one to ten, how crazy has this all been for you?”

“Honestly, I expected most of this,” Kurt told her. “I've been a fan of Dalton since it started, and I know how crazy fans can be – and I mean that in the best way! It has been a little overwhelming though, seeing my name next to Blaine's.”

“Do you think you'll end up on Dalton at some point?” she asked.

Kurt shook his head. “I don't think so,” he answered. “That's Blaine's show. Besides, my living in Ohio would put a crimp in filming time.”

“So you're not planning a career in acting?” Ellen pushed a little further.

“I've kind of always wanted to go to New York, maybe end up on Broadway one day,” Kurt finally said. There was cheering and Kurt couldn't help but grin.

“My producer tells me that you two have one more surprise for us,” Ellen continued.

“We do.” Blaine grinned. “We'd like to sing something for you, if we could.”

He got up and Kurt followed him, letting Blaine lead him over to where the band was set up, two microphone stands waiting for them.

The familiar strains of the song started and Kurt let himself get lost in Blaine and music, and forgot everything else.

*

Because you're perfect to me,” They sang in harmony. Blaine couldn't help catching Kurt up into a hug as the song came to a close. He and Kurt had just sung together on national television. It was like a dream come true. Ellen popped over, hugging them both and then sending them to the credits with information about when Dalton would be returning to TV screens (they were only a few weeks from the premiere and Blaine couldn't wait).

Excited and wound up, Blaine took Kurt's hand and they nearly ran back to the dressing room. It was thankfully deserted, because Blaine couldn't wait any longer. The moment the door shut, Blaine had Kurt pressed up against it, kissing him soundly. Kurt moaned against his lips, and Blaine's tongue swept into his mouth.

“Blaine,” Kurt gasped out, wrenching his mouth away. “We can't, oh, God,” he cried out in the middle of his protest. “Not here.”

“Where then?” Blaine asked, his voice rough and demanding.

“You can't wait until we get back to your place?”

Blaine shook his head. “There's not enough time before your flight leaves,” he reminded Kurt.
“Let's just go,” Kurt breathed. They grabbed their things, said good-bye to the producers and crew quickly and then made their way outside. There was a mob outside the stage door, and Blaine stopped short.

“Okay,” he murmured. “A few autographs and we're gone.” The crowd was screaming his name, as Blaine moved from person to person, signing. He wasn't shocked to hear the crowd calling out for Kurt as well. Kurt didn't seem to know what to do. Blaine shot him a smile, and gestured with his head. Kurt's eyes widened, realizing that people actually wanted his autograph. Blaine grinned. It was always a heady moment when that realization sunk in.

He moved quickly, signing as much as he could and then pulling Kurt away after second. The two of them waved good-bye and then climbed into the limo.

Blaine pounced the moment the door shut, kissing Kurt soundlessly. “Here?” Kurt asked in a strangled whisper.

“Here,” Blaine confirmed, unfastening Kurt's pants and slipping his hand inside, past the elastic of Kurt's underwear. Kurt cried out when Blaine wrapped his hand around his cock, and Blaine's heart soared. He loved that Kurt fell apart when Blaine touched him. Kurt chanted his name and Blaine kissed him again. Sure, the partition was up, but he didn't know how soundproof it was.

It only took a few more moments before Kurt keened, Blaine's mouth capturing the noise as Kurt spilled onto his hand. Kurt slumped forward, his head resting on Blaine's shoulder as he breathed heavily. “You have the best ideas,” he gasped out, reaching over and cupping Blaine through his pants. Blaine groaned. He was already so close; it wouldn't take much. He glanced out at the passing scenery.

“Ten minutes,” Blaine managed, letting Kurt know how much time was left. Kurt sank to his knees on the floorboard of the limo, reaching for the button on Blaine's pants.

“Plenty of time.”

*

“I wish you were coming to the airport with me,” Kurt said quietly. He and Blaine were hugging in the entryway of Blaine's penthouse. It would take all Kurt had to walk away from him again.
“You know it's safer if we don't,” Blaine reminded him. Kurt nodded.

“I'll call you when I land,” he promised. Blaine kissed him hard on the mouth.

“You better,” Blaine replied. “I love you.”

“I love you more,” Kurt uttered, drawing a sad smile to Blaine's lips. Kurt forced himself to pick up his carry on and grab the handle on his wheel suitcase. Blaine reluctantly let him go as the elevator dinged its arrival.

With a wave, Kurt stepped in the elevator and the doors shut on Blaine's anguished face.
He didn't let himself cry until he was safely seated on the plane, a blanket hiding his face.

End Notes: In an upcoming chapter, thanks to a prompt on Tumblr, Kurt and Blaine will be doing a "livestream". If you're interested in being a part of that chapter of the story, drop me a question for the boys to answer, either here in the comments or on my Tumblr(slayerkitty.tumblr.com).
