He could hardly wait.
He, Kurt Hummel, was going to LA, to stay the weekend with a famous TV star.
Kurt still pinched himself sometimes to make sure he wasn’t dreaming.
No longer was his communication with Blaine limited to twitter messages and emails. Ever since Blaine’s first text and subsequent phone call, they’d done nothing but text and call each other since.
Kurt had never been happier. He almost didn’t even mind when one of his regular bullies, a jock named Dave Karofsky, shoved him into a locker on their way out of school. He just adjusted the strap of his bag on his shoulder, and continued out to his car.
He had more important things to worry about – like if he’d packed for all the possible contingencies.
*
Kurt’s first time on an airplane was nothing like he’d thought it’d be. Firstly, because Blaine had bought his ticket (after fierce arguing on Kurt’s part, Blaine had worn him down), and that meant Kurt was sitting in first class. Because he was seventeen, it also meant the flight attendant was checking on him fairly often, which meant he didn’t want for anything.
Saying goodbye to his parents and Finn had been a weird experience, and he’d panicked when he’d had to check his luggage (terrified it wouldn’t reach LA along with him), but once he was finally on the plane and they were in the air, he relaxed.
Until he remembered where he was going, and then proceeded to freak out all over again. He was going to see Blaine in a matter of hours. He was going to be staying with Blaine at his place for several days. Blaine had even arranged for Kurt to join him on the set.
Deciding he needed to just take his mind of everything, he pulled out his laptop and opened it. He connected to the internet, scrolling through Tumblr while listening to his Dalton playlist to pass the time.
Before he knew it, they were landing, and Kurt had to pack up his stuff. He gripped the armrests of his seat tightly during the descent (he didn’t know if he’d ever get use to that feeling), and then shuffled his feet anxiously as he waited for his turn to get off the plane.
He made his way through LAX, before finding the luggage carousel. His bags had made it (much to his relief), and he grabbed them off the line before looking around. Blaine had said someone would be waiting for him – and there was a guy in a uniform with his name on a sign.
“I’m Kurt Hummel,” Kurt said after approaching the guy.
“Very good, sir,” the guy answered. “I’m Charles. I’ll be driving you to Mr. Anderson’s place.”
“Okay,” Kurt replied. He had no idea what to say after that. Charles took his bags wordlessly and led him out to the car. Kurt had to hold in a gasp. The car wasn’t a limo, but it was a very high end vehicle, and he was actually a little afraid of touching it.
Charles let him get settled in the back before closing the door and loading his luggage in the trunk. As they drove through the streets of LA, Kurt pulled out his phone and sent Blaine a text.
In the car. Be there in a bit. :)
Blaine’s reply was immediate.
Can’t wait to see you.
The car pulled up in front of a tall apartment building, several stories high. Charles got out and opened Kurt’s door for him. Kurt couldn’t help but stare at the building in awe (which is how he’d spent most of the drive, if he was honest), while Charles unloaded his bags. The doorman approached them.
“Mr. Hummel?” he asked.
“That’s me,” Kurt answered, feeling breathless.
“Mr. Anderson is anticipating your arrival,” the doorman said, picking up Kurt’s bags. Kurt knew he was supposed to tip his driver, so he slipped Charles some money and a thank you before following the doorman inside. The doorman took him to the elevator, pressed the button for the penthouse, inserted a key, and the elevator slowly rose.
Of course Blaine lived in the penthouse. Of course he did.
Kurt bit his lip, butterflies migrating in his stomach. When the elevator dinged and the doors opened, he gasped. Blaine’s entryway was gorgeous, sparsely but beautifully decorated. He stepped out of the elevator, the doorman setting his bags out behind him.
“Have a good day, Mr. Hummel.” Then the doorman was gone. Kurt was alone. He took one step forward and then Blaine’s door flew open.
*
Blaine couldn’t help himself. When he opened his door and saw Kurt standing there in the hall, it was like he’d lost control over his own body – he moved quickly, gathering Kurt into a tight hug.
Blaine hadn’t realized how much he’d missed Kurt until he’d seen him.
“Hi,” he murmured in Kurt’s ear.
“Hi,” Kurt mumbled into his shoulder. He couldn’t get over the way Kurt smelled. Blaine could just bury himself in the scent, and he knew that probably wasn’t healthy.
“Is this your stuff?” Blaine asked, pulling back a little.
“Yeah,” Kurt answered. “I’m sure I over packed, but I didn’t know what our plans were, so…” Blaine couldn’t help but chuckle.
“It’s okay,” he said. “I’ll just tease you about it.”
“Hey, I want to look… like I’m not a tourist from Ohio,” Kurt told him.
“Have I told you that you’re adorable?” Blaine commented as he led Kurt inside, and shut the door, locking it.
“No.” Kurt looked at him, cheeks flushed. A little embarrassed, Blaine felt his own cheeks turning pink.
“Well, you are,” Blaine said. “So what do you think?” He gestured to his living room.
“I think I would love to steal your decorator,” Kurt exhaled, staring. Blaine laughed.
“Come on, I’ll give you the tour.” Blaine took his hand, and showed Kurt around – the kitchen (where Kurt promised him a home cooked meal to make up for all of the take out Blaine confessed to consuming), the bathroom (where Kurt drooled over the shower fixtures, much to Blaine’s amusement), and finally, Blaine’s room.
“So, this is… my room,” Blaine pulled Kurt inside. Kurt took in the light green walls, old fashioned furniture, and other accessories.
“It’s amazing,” Kurt breathed out. They locked gazes, and Blaine thought his heart might have skipped a beat. Kurt was here. Kurt was in his bedroom. Blaine moved toward Kurt, and he wondered what his face looked like, because Kurt’s eyes went wide.
“I can’t believe you’re actually here,” Blaine spoke quietly, reaching out and taking Kurt’s hand in his.
“Me either.” Kurt let out a nervous, airy laugh. Blaine’s eyes dropped to Kurt’s lips – he couldn’t help it. Kurt licked his lips and Blaine fought back a groan. Kurt had no idea what that did to him. He moved a little closer, unsure if this was something Kurt would even want, when a loud growling sound filled the room.
“Oh, God,” Kurt covered his face with his free hand, sounding horrified. “I’m sorry.”
“You’re hungry,” Blaine said, smiling. “I should feed you.”
They ordered a ton of Chinese food, and then ate and talked until Kurt could barely keep his eyes open. He yawned in the middle of his sentence, and Blaine laughed. “I think you need to head to bed,” he told Kurt. “We’ve got all weekend to talk.”
Kurt nodded, looking reluctant. He grabbed some pajamas and a toiletry case out of his bag and disappeared into the bathroom. Blaine took that time to pull out his couch bed and make it up with clean sheets and blankets. Thirty minutes later, Kurt came out of the bathroom in a set of silk pajamas, complete with robe.
Blaine’s mouth watered a little.
Okay, admission time. He had it bad for Kurt and he wanted nothing more for Kurt to sleep in his bed.
*
“Kurt?” He looked up as Blaine got his attention.
“Yeah?” Kurt answered, walking over to where Blaine was standing, next to the pulled out couch.
“This might sound… Well, you can say no if you want…” Blaine began. Kurt waited for him to get to the point. “You can sleep out here if you want, but I… I kind of… would you sleep with me instead?” Blaine finally asked in a rush of words. Kurt felt his eyebrows shoot up in surprise.
“What?”
“I want you to… sleep with me,” Blaine repeated. “Just sleep,” he hastily added. “Nothing else, I promise.”
“You want…” Kurt trailed off. “Okay.”
“O-okay?” Blaine’s eyes lit up and Kurt knew he’d made the right decision.
“Yes, Blaine,” Kurt was the one laughing this time. Seemingly excited, Blaine took his hand and let him into his bedroom. He turned on the TV perched up on the dresser and handed Kurt the remote.
“Here, why don’t you put in a movie?” he suggested. “I’ll be right back.”
Kurt looked through the movies before settling on one and putting it in. He bit his lip, looking at the bed, before sitting on the end of it very delicately. He didn’t know how to do this. He’d never slept in bed with another boy before – even if they were just friends.
Though it seemed every day they were becoming more than that. He wondered if Blaine felt as strongly about him as he felt about Blaine. Kurt knew he would never have the nerve to ask him though.
When Blaine came back in the room, he’d changed into a pair of lounge pants and an old Crawford Country Day t-shirt. “I thought I told you to get comfortable,” he teased. Kurt gave him a nervous smile.
“I didn’t know which side you slept on,” he used as an excuse.
“Left,” Blaine told him. “You?”
“The right is fine,” Kurt mumbled, getting up as Blaine pulled the covers back.
“Kurt, are you sure you want to do this?” Blaine asked. Kurt must not have been hiding his nerves as much as he’d hoped.
“Yes,” he answered softly. “I do, I just… I’ve never…”
“Oh,” Blaine replied. “Me either, actually.”
“Really?” Kurt was surprised.
“Really.” Blaine slid into the bed, and then patted the empty mattress. “I don’t bite.”
“Said the spider to the fly,” Kurt mumbled, slipping off his robe and laying it across the arm chair in the corner of Blaine’s room before getting into bed slowly. He settled down next to Blaine, lying back on the pillow.
“It’s okay, Kurt,” Blaine said, smiling at him. “Go to sleep.”
*
When Blaine woke up in the morning, it took him a moment to realize he hadn’t gone to bed alone the night before. Kurt was in bed with him, a fact made obvious by the way he was currently tangled up with Blaine under the sheets. He was lying facing Blaine, his arm draped across Blaine's waist, and his legs tangled between Blaine’s.
Kurt looked angelic when he was asleep. Blaine had to resist the urge to run his fingers across Kurt’s porcelain skin, keeping himself content with just looking.
Kurt’s eyes suddenly blinked open, and they widened for a moment before he smiled. “I forgot where I was for a second,” he said, his voice lower than usual, heavy with sleep. The sound did something to Blaine, desire curling in his stomach. He kept himself in check though.
“You’re here with me,” Blaine replied. “We’ve got today and tomorrow to do whatever, and then Monday is filming.” Kurt would be leaving early Tuesday morning for Ohio – but Blaine didn’t want to think about that.
“What do you suggest we do?” Kurt asked.
“Well, we can do some touristy things – Hollywood sign, that kind of thing, if you want,” Blaine offered.
“Aren’t you worried about being seen with me?” Kurt looked concerned.
“They won’t expect to see me at places like that,” Blaine told him. “And I’ll wear my hair different and put a hat on.”
“Seems a shame to hide those curls.” Kurt lifted his hand from Blaine’s hip and touched the curls lightly.
Blaine’s gaze locked on his and Kurt felt like Blaine was trying to tell him something with the intensity of his gaze. Kurt’s heart sped up. Could Blaine really feel the same way about him?
“Okay, then,” Kurt said, sliding out of bed before Blaine became too much of a temptation and he did something he’d regret. “Let’s be tourists.”
*
It seemed like they traveled all over – Blaine showed him all kinds of things, and Kurt soaked it all in like a sponge. They ended the day, exhausted, with a pit stop at the grocery store – Kurt was going to make Blaine a home cooked meal as he promised.
He unloaded the bags onto Blaine’s kitchen counter and set about getting everything he’d need.
“When’s the last time you cooked in here?” Kurt asked, glancing at Blaine over his shoulder.
Blaine chuckled.
“I don’t think I actually have,” he told Kurt. Kurt gave him a look of disbelief.
“It’s a good thing I happen to be an excellent cook then.”
“You keep bragging like this, you better deliver.” Kurt’s eyes widened. If he didn’t know any better, he’d think Blaine was flirting with him. He flushed, but tipped his chin up in a haughty way.
“Oh, I will.” They both laughed, and Kurt set about starting the food.
*
“This is amazing,” Blaine gushed for the fourth time. “Seriously, I want to marry this sauce.”
Kurt felt like his cheeks were going to end up permanently red. “Thanks.”
“How did you learn to make such a masterpiece?” Blaine wanted to know, serving himself a third large spoonful, while Kurt slowly made his way through his first helping.
“My dad’s been sick,” Kurt answered. “He had a heart attack, and before he and Carole got married, there was only me to take care of him.”
“Oh, Kurt, I-" Blaine looked embarrassed.
“It’s okay, Blaine.” Kurt waved his hand in a dismissive manner. “You didn’t know.”
They finished the rest of the meal in silence, but it wasn’t uncomfortable. Blaine helped him clear the table and put the leftovers in a container in the fridge. “All right, you cooked, so I’ll clean up,” Blaine told him. “You go watch TV or something.”
“I cooked, I made the mess,” Kurt replied. “I should clean.”
“Kurt, you’re my guest,” Blaine refused. “It would be rude if I made you wash the dishes.”
“Blaine, it’s okay, I can wash a couple of pans.” Blaine sighed, seeming to realize Kurt wasn’t going to be ushered off into the other room.
“Fine, I’ll wash, you dry.” He handed Kurt a towel, and they set to work.
*
Blaine didn’t mean to do it. It was a complete accident. The plate he was washing slipped out of his hand and in his haste to keep it from falling back into the sudsy water in the sink, Blaine accidentally hit the button on the sprayer. Water shot out – and landed on Kurt. Kurt squealed in surprised, staring at Blaine.
Blaine tried not to laugh. “Oh, Kurt, I’m sorry,” he managed before a giggle slipped out. Kurt’s mouth fell open, and then he picked up the sprayer head, pulling on the hose, and sprayed water at Blaine.
Okay, challenge accepted. Blaine narrowed his eyes, and then grabbed for the sprayer, trying to get it from Kurt’s hand. Water went everywhere, and the two of them eventually ended up tangled together, laughing. They locked gazes, and both of them froze. Blaine didn’t even think. He just reacted.
He pressed his lips to Kurt’s and kissed his best friend.

It must have been the phone search...But seriously, this is amazing. And not just the story, but the way you write it too. I'm seriously impressed!!
