“Rumor has it you’re performing tonight, Blaine?” Ryan asked him as he and Kurt finished telling about their first conversation.
“I am!” Blaine exclaimed. “I think everyone will be surprised.”
“Well, it was great to see you,” Ryan said, wrapping up the interview. “We’ll let you get inside now.” Blaine shook his hand, pulling Kurt back down the steps.
“So that’s what it’s like to be interviewed by Ryan Seacrest,” Kurt mused as they made their way to the next interviewer.
“Freaked out yet?” Blaine asked, as if he was afraid Kurt was going to run away screaming.
“Nope.” Kurt smiled before pressing a soft kiss to Blaine’s lips. Judging by the sound of cameras beeping, someone had just gotten it on film, but he didn’t care. “Bring it on.”

“This is amazing,” Kurt said, looking around with wide eyes. Blaine smiled. Kurt had handled the red carpet like a pro, helping him charm all the interviewers. They had just stepped inside, and Kurt was kind of staring at all the other actors. “Whatever you do, don’t let me make an idiot out of myself, okay?” He sounded breathless.
“If you can handle the sharks outside, you can handle everyone in here,” Blaine reminded him. “Just remember that they’re people just like you.”
“You’re just saying that because of how I acted when we first met,” Kurt smiled at him.
“I thought you were adorable,” Blaine murmured, brushing a kiss across Kurt’s cheek. Kurt blushed, and then Blaine maneuvered them toward their assigned seats. He was going to be sitting next to Nick and someone from the Modern Family cast.
Nick was already in his seat, and Blaine felt relieved sat down next to him. “How was it?” Nick asked, leaning over and staring at them.
“It went fine,” Blaine smiled.
“Most terrifying experience of my life,” Kurt replied. “I thought I was going to cut off the circulation in Blaine’s hand when we were interviewed by ABC.”
Nick snorted. “You’ll get used to it.”
“I hope so.” Kurt bit his lip. “I don’t want to embarrass you.” He looked at Blaine.
“Never going to happen,” Blaine promised, kissing him lightly. “I have to head backstage to get ready,” he continued.
“Break a leg,” Kurt said as Blaine got up and headed for the backstage area. Kurt settled in his seat, and prepared to enjoy the show.
Blaine was part of the opening, a laugh riot that made fun of all the popular TV shows at the moment, and when he and the other celebrities burst onto the stage, singing and dancing, Kurt couldn’t help but laugh uncontrollably. Nick was right beside him, also laughing, and it took Kurt until Blaine was back in his seat to calm down.
It was weird, being at the front row of the Emmys. Not only was it a prime position, but it also meant the camera cut to them a lot – Kurt was fully expecting to hear a running commentary of his every facial expression from Rachel when he went back to Ohio.
They started announcing the awards, and Kurt tuned them out for the most part, cheering and clapping when it was time.
Then it was time for Blaine’s category. He gripped Blaine’s hand as the cast from some CW show read off the list of nominees. When they talked about Blaine, Kurt squeezed his hand, and Blaine smiled sheepishly at the camera.
“And the Emmy goes to…”

End Notes: EPICALLY LONG AUTHOR'S NOTE TO FOLLOW - So, hi. Please don't kill me. Yes, I ended this on a cliffhanger. Yes, you're probably screaming obscenities at your computer right now. No, I won't tell you right now if Blaine wins. YES, IT WILL BE ONE OF THE FIRST THINGS YOU LEARN IN THE SEQUEL.Yeah, that's right, I said sequel. For anyone who might of have missed it, there will be a sequel to this, called Chances Are. It will explore Kurt and Blaine dealing with have a public relationship, as well as Kurt's future dreams and what they might mean for their future as a couple. Also expect tons more meta, and lots of fluffy Klaine with pinches of angst for flavor. I can't believe this is the last chapter of AAC. You guys have no idea have much writing this fic has affected me and I owe it all to you - the readers. :D So this chapter is dedicated to all of you - the ones who left me comments, and reblogs and reviews (even the ones who pointed out my errors! I love you for that!) as well as the ones who were silent as we took this journey together. Thank you so, so, so much from the bottom of my heart. AAC would not have been the same without you. A very, very heartfelt thank you to and for taking the time to beta this, as well as listen to all of my writing freak outs and complaints, and for calling me an idiot when I said no one would read this. This was a wonderful fic. I was captivated from the very beginning. Very much looking forward to the sequel. And my thoughts on the cliffhanger, I literally said "What the fuck?" I thought it was a joke. But it was definitely a way to bring the readers back.

I don't know if I can actually see Burt saying Darren's line about gay straight orange purple or dinosaur though... Too goofy for such a serious and intense man.
