Kurt got his answer the next morning, when he checked his phone and saw he had about ten messages.

They were all the same – four from Rachel, three from Mercedes, one from Tina, one from Santana and one from Brittany.

Rachel’s all consisted of shrieking about him keeping Blaine a secret and what this could mean for the New Directions now that he was dating someone famous.

Mercedes was hurt that he didn’t tell her, but just demanded details.

Tina’s was just congratulating him and wishing him and Blaine luck.

He deleted Santana’s halfway through – he liked her well enough, but sometimes she just took things too far. Like her suggestion of what exactly Kurt could do with Blaine now that they were together.

Brittany wished him luck, and said she hoped that Blaine liked him enough to show him how awesome armpit licking could be.

Kurt shook his head, remembering his brief weeklong relationship with Brittany. She’d taught him how to kiss, and informed him that boys tasted like burgers and dip. Maybe most boys did, Kurt thought with a smile, but not Blaine.

His smile fell a little though, when he remembered how upset Blaine had been last night. Kurt wondered what it was that Blaine’s father had said to cause such a reaction in someone normally unflappable as Blaine seemed to be.

He sent a mass text to all the members of New Directions, since it seemed everyone knew now.

Blaine and I are very happy, but please keep this to yourselves. We don’t want anyone else to know.

With a glance at his clock, Kurt swore under his breath. He’d slept late, and now had just less than two hours to get ready before Blaine and his mother would be arriving.

*

Blaine glanced at his mother out of the corner of his eye. “You okay?” he asked, turning the car at the next stoplight.

“Just tired, sweetie,” Grace Anderson answered. She patted his free hand, which was resting on the gearshift. Blaine nodded, his jaw clenched. He was exhausted too – between hoping the meeting between Kurt and his mother went okay, and the things his father had said to both him and his mother…

He sighed. “I’m sorry things are so strained between you and Dad.”

“It’s not your fault, sweetie,” she replied. “You are who you are, and your father is who he is.”

Blaine pulled the car into the driveway of the Hummel house, and they got out of the car. They didn’t speak as Blaine rang the doorbell, and they waited for someone to answer.

“Hi,” Kurt breathed, as he flung the door open.

“Hi,” Blaine replied, his mood immediately up lifting. Kurt just had that effect on him.

“Come in,” Kurt said, stepping back and letting them in the house. Blaine saw Carole and Burt (as they insisted he call them) standing just behind him.

“Kurt, this is my mother, Grace Anderson,” Blaine introduced.

“It’s nice to meet you,” Kurt held his hand out to shake, and Blaine watched his mother take it and shake it delicately.

“And Kurt’s parents – Burt and Carole Hummel.” His mother exchanged pleasantries, and she and Carole immediately disappeared into the kitchen, discussing the dinner menu. Kurt took her coat as they passed, and then helped Blaine off with his.

“Football’s on in the living room if you’re interested, Blaine,” Burt said gruffly. “Finn and Rachel are in there too.”

“We’ll be in in a minute, Dad.” Kurt smiled at his father, but his tone definitely indicated he wanted to be alone with Blaine. Burt just gave him a knowing look before heading the other room. “How are you?”

“Better,” Blaine answered. “Now that I’m away from my father.”

“You don’t get along?” Blaine laughed, but it came out bitter.

“The short answer is no,” he told Kurt. “But I don’t want to think about that today. I’ve got one more week with you before I have to go back to LA, and we need to plan some things and make the most of it.”

Kurt gave him a short, gentle kiss.

“I’d like that.”

*

“Is it true that you really work sixteen hour days?” Rachel asked Blaine. She’d been hounding him with questions about Dalton repeatedly throughout the day, and even putting a plate of food in front of her hadn’t stopped them from coming.

“Sometimes,” Blaine told her. Kurt thought that if he was Blaine, he probably would have smacked Rachel by now. She was being obnoxious. Blaine, however, just smiled and answered her questions. “Depends on what we’re filming. Performances take the longest.”

Kurt remembered that from his day on set. Blaine had had to shoot that scene about ten times before the director was satisfied he’d gotten all the angles and reaction shots he’d wanted. Blaine’s mother seemed to be the quiet type, watching Blaine interact with them affectionately. He had no idea if she liked him or not, but she wasn’t speaking out against their relationship, so Kurt was calling it a win in his book.

“Is it true your character is getting a boyfriend?” Rachel asked another question. This one seemed to stop everyone, and they all looked at Blaine.

“I can’t actually answer that,” Blaine said, blushing. “Contractual reasons.”

“It’s fine, Blaine,” Kurt murmured.

“Wait, so if your character got a boyfriend, would you guys be kissing on the show?” Finn asked, still looking at Blaine.

“I’d hope so,” Blaine replied. “It wouldn’t exactly be fair to have James date and not let him kiss his boyfriend.”

Kurt wished they’d change the subject. The last thing he wanted was to start thinking about Blaine kissing Sebastian the way that he kissed him, even if it was just pretend.

“Will the network air that?” Rachel wanted to know.

“I would think so,” Blaine replied. “They’ve been great so far. Daytime TV has been airing gay and lesbian relationships and showing far more than just kissing in the middle of the afternoon for the last few years.”

“And you’d be kissing another guy.” Finn jumped back in the conversation. “I mean, kissing someone who’s not Kurt.”

“Well, yeah.” Blaine nodded. Kurt found the shape of his mashed potatoes extremely interesting. He didn’t want to be having this conversation at the dinner table when he and Blaine hadn’t even had it in private.

Kurt thanked his father silently when Burt changed the subject to something involving football that Kurt was really not paying attention too. Instead he focused on Blaine’s hand squeezing his under the table.

The rest of dinner went smoothly as Rachel seemed to get the hint and stopped asking so many questions.

Carole was the first one to start clearing the table and collecting plates. When she went for Blaine’s, he stopped her. “Wait,” he said, smiling. He turned to Kurt. “Go get your laptop. We’re going to have some fun.”

Kurt narrowed his eyes, but got up and retrieved his laptop from the other room, where he’d been online while everyone else had enjoyed the football game. Everyone watched as Blaine took out his iPhone and snapped a photo of his empty plate. He then uploaded it, and attached it to a tweet: Best Christmas Eve dinner – Good food and good times. :)

“You got your Tumblr up?” Blaine asked Kurt. Kurt nodded.

“What’s a Tumblr?” Burt interrupted.

“It’s a social networking site, Dad,” Kurt answered. “A lot of Dalton fans hang out on there.” He breathed out a sigh of relief that he had thought to blacklist porn – never had he imagined that his father might see his Tumblr and a couple of the people he followed like to post it.

“What are we waiting on?” Carole asked.

“You’ll see,” Kurt promised, having figured out what Blaine was doing, starting to laugh. “And there it goes.” Kurt pointed at the number above the word dashboard on his screen. “This is the number of updates I just got,” he explained. “I bet my entire dash is now your tweet.” Blaine laughed as Kurt clicked the number, and post after post filled in with Blaine’s tweet.
“Just… do me a favor and don’t read the comments, okay?” Kurt said. “The fans get a little… crazy.”

“Dude, that took less than five minutes to spread,” Finn was staring at Blaine in shock.

“I have a very devoted following,” Blaine replied.

“And he likes to rile them up,” Kurt added, giving Blaine a look. “Don’t tease the fangirls, honey.”

“Oh, Nick tweeted me back,” Blaine said, typing out a reply. “Watch, that’ll go up too.”

Sure enough, within a few minutes, his and Nick’s tweets were on Tumblr as well.

“Are you done playing?” Kurt asked, his eyebrow arched at Blaine.

“Spoil my fun,” Blaine pouted playfully.

“You enjoy that way too much, you know.” Kurt shut his laptop. “Let’s go exchange presents.” He got up, picked up the computer. “We’ll be upstairs.”

“Door open,” was all Burt said before they left the room.

*

“So, it’s not much,” Blaine said, sitting down on Kurt’s bed. “But I saw it and I thought of you.” He had stopped on their way upstairs and pulled a small box out of his coat pocket.

Kurt cracked his door, and then joined him on the bed.

“Same here,” Kurt replied, pulling his present out of his bedside table drawer. “Should we just switch and open them?”

“Sure,” Blaine agreed, handing the box to Kurt. Kurt handed him a thin, wrapped box. “On the count of three?” Kurt nodded. “Three!” Blaine exclaimed, ripping into the paper. Kurt laughed, watching him for a second before opening the box.

“Oh, Blaine, I love it,” Kurt murmured, pulling out small Christmas wreath shaped broach.

“Me too,” Blaine told him, holding the bow tie Kurt had given him in his hands. “Can I… put it on you?” Blaine asked, gesturing to the broach. His throat suddenly went dry at the idea. It felt weirdly like he was marking Kurt as his own, and that idea was very appealing.

“It clashes with my outfit,” Kurt let out a breath as Blaine moved closer.

“So?” Blaine replied, taking the broach out of Kurt’s hand. “Please wear it?”

“Okay,” Kurt murmured, as Blaine moved closer still. Blaine ran his hand along the collar of Kurt’s shirt, slipping his fingers under the fabric to lift it way from Kurt’s chest. The last thing he wanted to do was poke him with the pin. Blaine made sure to let his fingers trail across Kurt’s skin as he did so, and was rewarded by Kurt’s loud exhale. Blaine loved the effect he had on Kurt – the simplest touch was sometimes too much. He pinned the broach in place, and touched it gently.

“It looks nice,” Blaine said. Kurt glanced down at the broach and then back up at Blaine’s face. Their eyes locked, and Blaine wasn’t sure who moved first, but then they were kissing.
Blaine pushed Kurt onto his back and then climbed on top of him, straddling him as their hands explored.

“Hey, Blaine, your mom – Oh, God, I’m sorry!” Finn exclaimed, and the two of them nearly jumped apart.

“It’s okay, Finn,” Blaine told him, trying to get his breathing under control. Kurt looked like he was about to murder his brother.

“Haven’t you heard of knocking, Finn?” Kurt snapped.

“I’m sorry, if I thought you would be up here doing… that, I would have,” Finn muttered. “Your mom sent me up.” He looked at Blaine. “I think she’s ready to go.”

Blaine nodded, and picked up his present, putting it back in the box so it wouldn’t get ruined. Kurt took his outstretched hand and they followed Finn downstairs.

Another update. This one was adorable. Loved it,

Heeeee. :D Thanks!

Aw!! STUPID FINN!! But I love him (: Now in the future I can totally see Blaine going back to LA and going to an event and wearing the bowtie and somebody complimenting it and him saying it was his favorite Christmas present and then I'd be all like AWWW!! This is really awesome. Like. Really.

ACK, how did I not think of that? I NEED TO WRITE THAT IN SOMEWHERE.Thank you!

Yeah, the deletion was not on purpose, LOL. Thank you so much!

Well i have to say that i was actually wondering when this story would pop up on my notifacations. you deleted it! haha but now its back on my tracker so don't delete again! it makes me sad :(. but this fic gets many squeals out of me, not to mention fangirl flails. haha you are awesome and i can't wait to see what they are gonna do for the next week!

All you authors just love embarrassing Finn don't you? Not that I don't love it. Great chapter, can't wait for the next update.

LOL, it's so much fun! :D Thank you!

I love Blaine teasing his fans, it's adorable! Can't wait for the next update!

Heh, he gets kick out of it.:D Thank you!

Awww soon to be trouble in paradise.especially since blaine doesn't seem to have a problem with kissing other guys. Hmmm he's a little clueless and insensitive towards how kurt feels about the whole thing. But he'll soon understand I guess. will be interesting to see how kurt handles it all.

No, Blaine doesn't have a problem kissing other guys - but only for work. It's not like he can go to the writers/producers, etc and say "I have a boyfriend, please don't make me kiss another guy". He doesn't think Kurt would have a problem with it, because it's work. However, they will discuss it soonish. Thanks!

LOL! I know, I know. That's why that had to go in. :D Thanks!

Okay, Blaine tweeting a picture of his empty plate cracked me up because we DO do that on Tumblr. I have no idea why we feel the need to reblog and post about someone's empty plate, but we do and it is hilarious to me! :D

I think I have that same broach.cute chapter
