September 2012 Part 2

I was so shocked by Kurt kissing me, I didn’t respond. He pulled back, took another drink of his Gin and Tonic, and started talking. “That Off-Broadway play I’m designing costumes for? The guy’s a dick. I drew up sketches of the outfits and he told me he loved them and to make all of them and gave me all his performers sizes. He gave me one day. To make 30 costumes. So, I bought the material and supplies, assuming he would pay me back for it, and didn’t sleep. I only managed to make a dozen or so costumes before I met with him again today. And he told me hated them and he had an entirely new vision for all of them and I had to redesign everything. To top it off, he isn’t going to pay me for what I bought to make the 30 original costumes. Which, I can live without the money, but he was supposed to fucking pay me! Then Rachel fucking tells me some bull shit line about how she couldn’t make it tonight and how you and I should just call this a date. If I can make it during all this shit, she damn well can make it to this dinner. I told her just as much. That’s when she confessed that it was all a ruse to get you and I on a date and I just didn’t need that this week. But you insisted on doing this anyways, so the least you can do is come home with me after we’re done here and let me fuck you.”

“I- - How does fu- - having sex with me solve this problem? How is that a logical conclusion?”

“It’s a logical conclusion because I’m going to take you to the house I’m not supposed to have. I’m going to fuck you in my playroom. I’ll channel all my frustration and anger and I’ll use it to play with you. Got it pet?” He reached out and caressed my face with his hand.

I took a deep breath in before answering. “No.”

Kurt pulled his hand back like I burnt him and leaned away from me.

“Let me explain please,” I requested when he looked away from me and started to take another drink from his glass. His eyes darted to me and he raised his eyebrows expectantly. “Last time we did that, it was fantastic, don’t get me wrong. However, when we met again in Rachel’s classroom, you told me that wasn’t you anymore. You told me you weren’t that person, you didn’t do that. You looked like you regretted it. And I don’t want that to happen this time. I don’t want it to ruin our friendship. I really like being friends with you; I couldn’t lose that. Sure, we only hang out a few times a week, but we text often too. When I moved to New York, I came alone, not knowing anybody. Sure, I have work friends and friends at college, but I only used to occasionally go out. All I used to do was work, go to class, study, eat, and sleep. Now that we hang out, now that we’re fiends, I get out and do things a few times a week. Yeah, it’s mostly coffee, but it still means a lot to me. If we go to your house and you’re my Dom again, we have to do it with a contract. With a plan for it to become more than just a thing to do when you’re having a bad day. You and I both know that a good Dom would never take a sub into a bedroom like you’re planning. That would end disastrous. So, no. I won’t go with you today. But, after three dates, maybe you can get me to have sex with you. I’ll see you at three on Tuesday like normal.”

With that, I stood up, tossed fifteen dollars onto the bar for my drink and a nice tip and walked out of the door, never looking back.

-*-

The thing I hadn’t factored in when I left Kurt and the bar that Friday was him having my phone number. By the time I got to Rachel’s class on Tuesday, I had over 60 text messages, 15 missed calls, and 7 voice messages from Kurt. I ignored the texts after the tenth one; you can only read so many renditions of “I’m sorry Blaine. I was drunk and I don’t know what I was thinking” before wanting to block a number. I set my phone up to not alert me if Kurt tried to contact me during my first break at work on Saturday.

At the end of class I had decided to skip coffee this afternoon and go straight home to study before going to work. I was gathering my books up when I heard a throat clear. I looked up in the direction of the sound and saw an attractive guy around my age standing in front of me. He was taller than me, like most everybody, and had piercing green eyes and styled brown hair. “Can I help you?”

“Sebastian Smythe. Thought I’d introduce myself since you’re the only sexy guy in this class I haven’t fucked yet. So, what do you say? Wanna change that?” I was so shocked by this strangers proposition it didn’t even faze me when I felt an arm wrap around my waist. When I felt lips press on the top of my head, I turned to see Kurt holding me while glaring at Sebastian.

“He’s taken, so, no, he doesn’t ‘wanna change that’ you pig,” Kurt practically growled at the man in front of me. Kurt pressed an opened mouth kiss to my temple before continuing like nothing had just happened out of the ordinary. “How have your classes been today babe?”

I looked at Kurt like he had lost his mind before turning back to Sebastian who was holding a paper out to me. “Here’s my phone number for when you get tired of your overbearing princess girlfriend. Call me.” And with a saucy wink, Sebastian walked away.

The second he was gone I pushed Kurt away from me. “What the hell was that? I am not taken and you know that. I don’t need your ill attempts at protecting me and you don’t get to stake claims on something that isn’t yours. We had this conversation yesterday. I can’t believe you did that. Are you planning to run off every guy that shows interest in me because you what? Feel like it?”

Kurt looked rightly chastised by the end of my tirade.

“I take it your date didn’t go well?” Rachel questioned, walking towards us.

Kurt gave her a look before speaking. “If you would have checked any of the messages I left you or had picked up one of my phone calls Blaine, you would know that I am really sorry about what happened on Friday. I had had a bad day and the alcohol got the better of me. I shouldn’t have asked what I did of you. I came here instead of meeting you and Rachel at the coffee shop because I figured you wouldn’t show up after the way I acted. I don’t blame you if that was your decision. I was a right ass to you. But I really would like a second change. Over this past month, I feel I’ve really connected to you. I would be absolutely honored if you would go on another date with me. Just one more date. One date where I’m not upset and out of my mind, and if you don’t want to go on another date with me after that then I understand. I’ll stop bothering you then. We can be just friends.

“So, Blaine Anderson, will you go on a date with me?”

End Notes: Sorry this chapters seem so short. I keep them about 1k words or more a piece, but I didn't realize how short that was. They're short for quicker updates. If you want longer chapters with a little more time between them, let me know in a review.

Interesting. Looking forward to finding out why Kurt doesn't want to be a Dom anymore.
