Blaine stood before the foot of the couch, staring at the sleeping kurt while gripped his notebook with a shakinghand. He was scared and worried, but ready for what he had guessed lied ahead. So when he found the guts, he nuged at Kurt's foot, proding it with his index finger.
Kurt's eyes shot open and he quickly sat up, his plate clanking to the carpet and spilling the crumbs. He ran his hand over hsi face and looked at Blaine.
Before Kurt could say anything, Blaine held out the notebook to Kurt. Hesitating, Kurt grabbed the notebook and looked at the opened page to see what Blaine had written.
"I'm ready for my punishment," it read.
Kurt had to reread the sentence twice before he realized what it read. he blinked up at Blaine profusely in confusion. "Wha...what punishment?" he questioned as he handed the notebook back to Blaine.
Blaine shook even more, scribbling fast. When he gave the notebook back to Kurt, Kurt saw that the handwriting was sloppy and screamed 'nervous'. "Rachel sound out and it's all my fault. I was the one who went hold and kissed first. I made the move. So now I'm ready to suffer the concequence," Kurt read quickly.
When he looked up at Blaine, Blaine's bottom lip was trembling. And then all of a sudden, a tear ran down Blaine's cheek. Kurt's eyes widened. "Oh Blaine..." he murmured Blaine had begun sobbing. "Come here," he said softly as he opened his arms. Blaine sobbed as he watched Kurt put down the notebook and open his kind, loving arms to him. So he sat down next to Kurt and fell into his arms, burrying his face in Kurt's shoulders.
Kurt rubbed Blaine's back soothingly as Blaine's shoulders shook violently, silent sobs errupting from Blaine's throat.
Kurt knew it. He just did. This was the tears that Blaine had been holding back for longer than Kurt had him. All that time hurting and now Blaine was expecting punishment from Kurt. In a way, Kurt somehow felt guilty that Blaine hadn't the capasity to trust Kurt, who would never hurt Blaine. But Kurt couldn't blame him. Blaine had been torn from his family, tortured, got his speaking rights ripped away from him, and has been hurting like this for God knows how long. Kurt wasn't expecting Blaine to be able to open up and trust Kurt.
But what had happened last night caused Kurt to question Blaine's true ability to trust him.
"Listen to me," said Kurt as he pulled slightly away from Blaine and cupped his face. Blaine's sobs had stopped but tears were still bunched up and falling from his eyes. "I would never hurt you. Okay? Never. And I promise you that."
Blaine's eyes cringed shut as Kurt readied for another sob, but Blaine had found his control again and nodded his head.
Thinking it'd be the needed time to do so, Kurt leaned in and pressed his lips to Blaine's. The kiss was wet, soft, gentle, and promising. Blaine's lips were salty but smooth and soft. When Kurt pulled back, he looked into Blaine's eyes. "I'm falling head over heels for you, Blaine."
Blaine's face had now twisted into something that was a mixture of happiness, self-pity, passion, and love. His head was slightly leaning to the side and his eyebrows were arched together.
"Last night was so...amazing. I love you."
Kurt nearly jumped a foot in the air when Rachel had swung the shop door open and slammed it behind her as if she were hiding from somone or something. Her face read dispair and horror.
"Rachel?"
"Hm?" murmured Blaine as he looked up at Rachel. Seeing the expression on her face, his eyebrows furrowed.
"Kurt. Did you hear about Cinna's execution?" Rachel asked breathlessly.
Kurt furrowed his eyebrows. "That's so sad. Do you know why?"
"He helped out Katniss. Kurt, Katniss shot down the Hunger Game's arena wall. (...) Kurt, I'm so sorry!" She put her hands over her mouth as if she just spilled a deep, dark secret.
