Author's Notes: I know, it's been a while since I've updated. But I've managed! In between 5+ different fanfictions right now, so bare with me.
Why was it always so dead after school? Kurt thought to himself as he opened his locker and put his books away. The hall was dead and as far as Kurt knew, he was the only one in that hallway, aside from different teachers grading papers in their classrooms and students getting private lessons.

"Kurt?" asked a familiar voice.

Kurt closed his locker to reveal Dave leaning against the next locker over, a confused and worried expression on his face.

Kurt's face twisted into a concerned, soft expression. "What's wrong?" He could tell something was wrong. It was so obvious in the way Dave's face was and the way he was leaned up against the next locker over.

"I-I need to talk to you about something," murmured Dave.

Kurt stood there, staring up at Dave, waiting. "I'm waiting?"

Dave sighed. "Important, Kurt. As in I need to talk to you in private." He was exasperated.

Kurt rolled his eyes, motioning to the hall they were in. "No one is in this hall, Dave."

Dave now looked uncomfortable. "Kurt."

Kurt sighed, slowly nodding his head. "Fine. Where do you suggest?" asked Kurt.

Dave looked fully conflicted right now. "Um...I was thinking the auditorium or the choir room or the locker room or-"

Kurt cut him off. "Number one, it's after school. Mr. Schue. is bound to be there. And you know me. I try my best to refrain away from the locker room. Auditorium is fine."

Dave just nodded his head as he now followed Kurt off to the auditorium. The clock on Kurt's iPhone struck 4:00pm. He was hungry and was worried about being on time to meet Blaine at Lima Bean at 5:00pm, but knew it'd be fine.

The auditorium was, as predicted, empty. The lights above the seats were off, but the lights on the stage were on full. Old props left over from the performance earlier today in Glee were still there: a backdrop of a clear blue sky. It had a good atmosphere at the moment.

Kurt and Dave down a seat near the middle of the auditorium, sitting down side-by-side as an uncomfortable silence hung in the air.

"So...what's the matter?" Kurt asked, unable to take the silence any longer.

Dave cleared his throat before Kurt said anything further, which shut Kurt up instantly. Dave only cleared his throat whenever he was having trouble forming the words he wanted and needed the time to do so.

"I...like you, Kurt."

Kurt stared at Dave. In the darkness of the auditorium with only a faint glow coming from the stage, Kurt could make out Dave's eyes and the outline of his mouth.

"I like you too?"

Dave shook his head, positioning himself in his seat so that his body slightly faced Kurt. "No. That's not what I mean. I like you." He sounded urgent.

It only took a moment for it to all sink into Kurt's mind before he realized what Dave meant. Dave had a crush on Kurt. His eyes slightly widened as he sucked in a breath before speaking. "Dave, I thought we agreed that we're friends."

Dave looked away from Kurt. "I know...but I just can't stop feeling this way..."

Kurt was in a dilemma. He had never heard anyone but Mercedes act this way towards him before. And to tell the truth, Kurt never really experienced what it felt like to return the feelings. So naturally, he didn't even know if he liked Dave the way Dave liked him.

Suddenly, Kurt felt very pressured.

What should he say? He didn't even know. He just sat there, eyes widened as he stared at Dave, his breath heaving faster and faster by each silent passing minute. "Dave," Kurt stared as he shook his head, "I honestly don't know what to say." Kurt hated the way his words came out. He sounded helpless and lost.

Kurt felt Dave's eyes trail down to his lips. "Can I...kiss you?" he asked in a gentle and curious tone.

Should I say 'yes' or should I say 'no'? Kurt screamed in his head. He just couldn't decide which answer to pick.

So when Kurt slightly nodded his head, Dave quickly leaned in half way and stopped, staring at Kurt's lips for a quick moment before he cupped Kurt's chin between his thumb and index finger, and pressed his lips to Kurt's.

Kurt's eyes fell closed, just like he remembered seeing in the movies he watched at home. Close your eyes when someone kisses you. Kurt had always thought that if you closed your eyes during a kiss, you could feel everything you needed to feel and more. But all Kurt felt were chapped lips, gentleness, and a caress. So when Kurt didn't move away, Dave moved his lips against Kurt's now. A step up from the first touch. Kurt found himself kissing back, finding the movement fun and yet personal.

What confused Kurt the most was that he didn't know if he was liking it or not, though he thought that if he didn't like it, he would know by now. Maybe he was just neutral with it.

When Dave pulled away, Kurt's eyes slowly opened to see a very pensive expression on Dave's face. He was being patient for Kurt to say something.

"I...have to go. Blaine's waiting for me at the Bean," Kurt whispered.

Feeling as if he disappointed or hurt Dave's feelings somehow, he got to his feet, but put a hand on Dave's cheek, causing Dave to look up at him with a questioning glance. "See you tomorrow?" Kurt asked.

Dave just nodded his head as Kurt walked away.

Man, did Kurt have a lot to tell Blaine. Not that he wanted to tell Blaine--it would slip out somehow from the way Blaine seems to be persuasive. Wow...what a day for Kurt.

End Notes: I know that chapter was short, but I promise the next will be longer.
