Come on skinny love just last the year. Pour a little salt we were never here.
Blaine didn't know what or who he wanted anymore; but he was damn certain that he wanted to forget the one who broke his heart.
It was mid February, and half a year had passed by for Blaine, living without Kurt in Lima. Kurt was in New York, living a new life, seeing new people, experiencing new things... without Blaine.
The bitter fact that broke his heart was that Kurt went back on his word. He said goodbye. The stupid thoughts of that horrible day never ceased to taunt Blaine. The skies above him laughed at him. He was so naïve he gave Kurt everything and he was left broken again.
"Blaine, we aren't working," he said bluntly over the phone, his voice was low but clear, and his voice would be beautiful if the words weren't so horrific to Blaine.
"I don't quite understand what you mean, Kurtie," Blaine answered, trying to sound humorous, hoping the topic was anything but what he felt it was.
"Please Blaine, don't call me that. Don't make this more difficult than it already is... Look you know I love you but I can't keep waiting like this -"
"Waiting? Waiting for what?" Blaine's voice went up an octave, the tears were on the verge of appearing.
"Waiting for you... I need to live my life and I'm not able to when all I do is miss you every day. I think I should move on... and you should too," Kurt still sounded ever so serious, with his voice so articulate, not a hint of sadness, which killed Blaine even more.
"Are you... Are you breaking up with me? Please don't do this Kurt... I love you. I promise I can wait," Blaine started
"Yes. Yes I am. I love you too, but I can't do this anymore. I'm so sorry,"
Blaine was hysterical. He was laughing through his tears as he tried to find humor in the words Kurt was speaking. "You're lying right! Is this some prank, you've always been horrible at those,"
"Please stop! Just stop making this harder for me! I can't do this anymore, yes I'm breaking up with you because I've met someone and I need to forget you because I need to live my life. I hope you don't hate me, Blaine, please!" Kurt shouted so his words would seep through Blaine's tears and thoughts.
"I love you Kurt," Blaine whispered, in resolution
"Please don't call me," Kurt whispered back, as he hung up.
Blaine still couldn't get over the call, eventhough it had been nearly four months since. His heart still yearned for Kurt; but each time he remembered Kurt was the one who stabbed his heart.
"Hey babe," a smooth voice, purred at Blaine, as he was lost in his thoughts.
Blaine awoke from his reminiscing, "Sebastian, hey," he stood up to greet his boyfriend. Yes his boyfriend, of three months. He needed a way to forget Kurt and Sebastian was more than enthusiastic to date Blaine. He knew this was wrong but he really needed this to last... at least a year. He needed to know that there were more people out there, who he could be in relationships with; but he was constantly reminded of Kurt.
"You look a little lost, are you alright?" Sebastian asked as he took a seat across from Blaine. They were seated in the Lima Bean. Every two days, Blaine and Sebastian met at the Lima Bean for a date at 4:30 PM, and each time Blaine would be there an hour early and sat where him and Kurt used to sit, to drink the coffee Kurt used to drink , and mostly just to think about him. And each time Sebastian wouldn't doubt a thing.
"Oh no, it's nothing Seb, I just have so much homework all these AP senior classes, I'm beat," Blaine lied quickly. This wasn't exactly a lie though, there was a lot of homework but most of the stress was thanks to Kurt.
"Oh okay, good, I thought it was something really serious! Anyways how are the New Directions, did you get anymore new members?" Sebastian asked, changing the topic
Blaine was still part of the New Directions, he was the leader along with Tina, and Sebastian was still part of the Warblers. He was glad they had reacquainted after a sudden meeting at the Lima Bean the day Kurt broke up with him. Sebastian had changed quite a bit. He was trying his best to be honest and less flirtatious; and even Blaine had to admit Sebastian was doing a good job.
They spoke about their classes, their glee clubs, and their day, and then they went to watch a movie after each headed home. Blaine liked Sebastian, enough, but he could never love him. He didn't know if he could love anyone as much as he loved the one who broke him. It was a horrifying thought. He wondered if he knew Sebastian and him were dating, he wondered if he cared.
Blaine stretched out on his bed for sleep, after finishing his work. His last thoughts were consumed of Kurt, as he fell asleep.
I just want to last the year, Blaine told himself. I just want this to last the year, skinny love.
