(Chapter Fourteen)
Peter had followed the bloody trail through the woods alongside the freeway. Now he stood on the other side amongst abandoned warehouses.Jesus, Neal could be in any of those building. Luckily the blood trail didn't end at the pavement. It was just harder to see.Pete wished he had his team with him.He didn't know the locals and really didn't trust them. His shook his head, got himself oriented and set off to get his consultant back.
He was able to follow the tail to a ware house that sat a little beyond the other buildings. He silently crept up to and around to the side.It looked empty no sign of Neal or who took him.He looked in through a dirty window set inside a heavy steel door.He tried the door knob and was surprised to find it unlocked. The door opened onto an empty room. All Peter found was a single chair with rope attached to the arms of the chair. He also found more blood.Peter had closed his eyes at the sight. It definitely was more than a drip.He took a deep cleansing breath. He put a call into the local police for a crime scene unit.If they can Test that blood to know if it's Neal's than the FBI could be called in.However, the deputy marshals may impede his investigation and take charge since technically Neal had run. They might not care that Neal was injured; they would just haul him back into custody.Peter couldn't allow that to happen. He continued to search the building just in case he found anything while he waited for the locals to show up.
Meanwhile, at the hospital
Elizabeth Burke watched as the elder Hummel paced the ER waiting room.He looked frustrated and frightened for his sons' boyfriend. Frustrated because no one has come out to talk to them in what felt like days, but was probably mere hour or two. Frightened most likely he didn't know how his son was going to react if Blaine didn't make it. That saddened her. It's clear to her that the boy across from her really cared for Blaine and terribly lost without him right now, how was he going cope if the situation didn't end well?
Kurt sat there, stared at the space in front of him. She really did feel for him.She walked over and sat down beside him.El began to rub his back but he took no notice. They sat that way for awhileShe looked up as someone cleared their throat.
"Blaine Anderson?"
She watched as Burt approached the young man in blues scrubs.
"How is he?" Burt asked as Elizabeth guided Kurt towards his father.
"Are you family?" the Doctor asked.Burt shook his head.
"No, but he is staying with us while his parents are out of the country." Burt said.
"Do you have medical proxy?" again Burt shook his head.
"Then I'm truly sorry. I cannot give out any information on a patient. Not unless you have proper documentation from his parent's or legal guardian stating that you can receive that info." The doc said. "Does he have any brothers or sisters?" he continued. But he could tell by the look on their faces that the answer was not in their favor.
"his brother was with him at the accident. He is now missing." El replied. The doctor shook his head.
"Try to get a hold of his parents as soon as you can, maybe the can fax over a proxy for you. I will also have the nurses here try to get a hold of them too." He said. El looked him in the eyes pleadingly.
"Please could you at least tell us if he is alive?"
He looked from Burt to Kurt and his facial expression softened. He sighed. "He's a fighter that for sure" was all he said. El nodded as he walked away. She looked back to the Hummel's. Burt had embraced his son. She could see Kurt's shoulders shaking. She was reluctant to bother them, but she needed to ask them a few questions for the beginnings of an idea floated through her mind. She gently questioned them and after a few moments she turned and headed toward the exit. She took out her cell phone and dialed a number. The call connected as she exited the hospital.
"Mozzy I need a favor"
