"Kurt," Blaine took Kurt's hand in his, "I wanna ask you something."

"Yes?" Kurt smiled. Blaine wanted to plan something special at the Chinese new restaurant that had opened, but he seemed to have booked a table for forty. Blaine decided to stick with Breadstix.

"So, we've been together for a while now. And I want to be sure that we'll be together, I dunno, 'til the end of time?" Blaine laughed nervously.

"Are you gonna ask me or not? Our food's gonna get cold..." Kurt joked.

"Okay, um," Blaine dug around in his trouser pocket, "Ah." He held a small box. He opened it. Inside was a golden ring with a small, silver gem on it.

"Ohmygod." Kurt whispered, "Are you, are you, p-proposing?" He squeaked out.

"What? No! This is a promise ring. And it's kinda for me, but mainly for you." Blaine explained.

Kurt frowned. What the hell was Blaine talking about?

"I want you to know that I'm always gonna be here for you, and while I am, I'm always gonna treat you the way you should be."

"Aw." Kurt felt tears welling up in his eyes.

"I want to promise you ten things. Firstly, I know you hate this sweater, so I definitely promise I'll never wear it again." Blaine chuckled. 

Kurt giggled. Blaine always seemed to wear hideous outfits, no matter how hard he tried to look nice. It was kinda cute.

"I promise to always remember your coffee order. I promise to always to smile everytime I see you, even though it is so impossible not to." Blaine smiled. Kurt felt tears fall down his cheeks.

" I promise I'll only ever sing a love song to you, I promise that I'll hold your hand through the bad times," Blaine could feel his voice wobbling, "I promise to always be on your side."

Kurt sniffed and smiled.

"I promise to always make time for you, whenever I can, whenever you need. I promise to always keep you safe. I promise to tell you everything, even if it's the smallest thing on the planet. And finally," Blaine sighed, "I promise I'll never leave you."

"Blaine, that is so beautiful." Kurt mumbled.

"I love you so, so much, Kurt. And I'm gonna stick by those promises, with all my heart. I'm going to try as hard as I can." Blaine cried.

"I love you too." Kurt whispered back. 

Blaine took Kurt's soft hand into his and slowly slid the ring onto his slender finger. 

Kurt smiled, leant in and kissed Blaine softly. Everything was perfect, the ring, the promises. Blaine was perfect.
