Always &Forever

Kurt:

Kurt had not realised that flying coach would be so disgusting. Who allowed their child to go through every single nursery rhyme there was five times? What mother let her baby scream endlessly through take off? Why could anyone leave pee on a seat? And who the hell was snoring? 'Just think of home Kurt, think of Blaine waiting for you and think of all those memories you have...' And Kurt could not help but smile his beautiful smile.

He knew Blaine would be waiting for him, along with Carole and Finn, to take him home. It had been almost two years since he had been back to Ohio though of course he had seen his family and friends during the long gap since the time he had last spent at home. In fact Kurt felt like his apartment had become a motel that, unfortunately for him, only had one room so he and Robbie were forever dragging the spare mattress from the store cupboard and crashing in lounge (Kurt noticed Robbie always took the mattress which was pointedly more comfortable than the couch.) They both always insisted that their guests took the bedroom though after one night in the living room Kurt almost always regretted his kindness. It was only when Blaine came to stay over the weekend every couple of months that Kurt only had to push the two single beds together so there was a double bed for him and Blaine, this was after much protest from Robbie who didn't seem to think it was 'fair' to have to sleep on the couch though Kurt did constantly remind him that he was being selfish.

Robbie himself had not had visitors since his parents had showed up at the exact wrong moment during that one fortnight that...Kurt didn't like to think of it anymore. Robbie's old friends never came to stay, neither had any of his relatives, word must have gotten round that he wasn't...the same as them. Kurt didn't really like to think of that either but he managed to carry on through life even after the almost...incident that may have changed a lot of things. He was glad with the way things were now, him and Robbie better friends than ever. Kurt always found himself thinking of all the good times they had had from the moment they had met to how supportive Robbie had been to when Kurt had found the rather disgusting sight on his bed to when he and Robbie had spent the evening in Blaine and Sebastian's company trying to convince them that Robbie was as gay as you could get. Not that that plan had turned out precisely as Kurt had hoped as Sebastian and Blaine saw right through Kurt's New York friend.

Sebastian. After what Kurt did for him you probably would have thought he may have had the decency to play it nice. But then again Sebastian and Dave's relationship had not ended the way it should have and Sebastian would have taken that the wrong way and everything would have been blamed on Kurt. Oh well Kurt's fight with him was over, actually it had never begun but Kurt had never seen that. That stupid thing he had done, trying to be like Sebastian so Blaine would like him better, how could Kurt not see that Blaine only loved him?

Oh Blaine, perfect Blaine. Blaine had always been there for Kurt and Kurt had always tried to be there for Blaine. But Kurt was stupid, he hadn't been grateful. Kurt hadn't seen that Blaine was willing to have a long distance relationship just to keep his boyfriend happy when Blaine could have had an amazing senior year snogging and shagging a bunch of boys that would never mean anything to him. Kurt had thrown that away. Blaine had shown Kurt such kindness and generosity, he had supported Kurt both physically and mentally through the toughest times: when Kurt's dad had died and Blaine had sat with Kurt on his bed for weeks watching Kurt shed tears and shout and scream, on Mother's Day when Blaine had taken Kurt to Elizabeth Hummel's grave and Blaine had even brought flowers and everything. Blaine had been the one to teach Kurt how to swim, Blaine had been the one to buy Kurt a Marc Jacobs coat for almost $70, Blaine had been the one with Kurt at his first job interview and had made sure that Kurt got that job, Blaine had been the one who stood and cried endlessly over Kurt's bedside when he had been in hospital, Blaine had been the one taking time to tell Kurt that he would always be there for him after Kurt had gone to college, Blaine had been the one who sang to Kurt in glee club, Blaine had been the one who had given Kurt amazing gifts on both Valentine's Day and Kurt's birthday, Blaine had been the one who constantly told Kurt that everything was going to be ok and Blaine had been the one who had succeeded to get Kurt ill! What more could Kurt possibly ask for? Blaine had even managed to run back to Kurt from Canada just because Kurt needed him in Ohio! Blaine had kissed Kurt in the snow, in the falling autumn leaves and even in Paris! And so many other times and all Kurt could do in return was hang onto those moments forever. All Kurt could do in return was to barge into Blaine's house and watch Mr Anderson calling his own son a fag, Kurt could only let Blaine stay at his house a few nights after Blaine's own relative had beaten him up when Kurt had been the source of the argument in the first place, Kurt could only run after Blaine as they both sprinted through the shopping centre away from Thad and Spike and whatever their names were, Kurt could only bring Blaine soup when he was ill not the things he truly deserved, Kurt could only argue with Blaine for ridiculous things that meant nothing in the world compared to what Blaine did for Kurt. How could Blaine do so many things for Kurt? How could Blaine know Kurt so well? How could Blaine be so damn gorgeous?! Then again how could Kurt be stupid enough to break up with him? That was ridiculous, how can someone graduate high school and dump Blaine? But the most important question was, how could anyone love Kurt as much as Blaine did? Or as much as Blaine was loved by Kurt?

"Seat belts on please, prepare for land," said an air hostess.

Kurt woke up, had he really fallen asleep? He fastened the belt around him and leaned back.

Blaine:

"There he is! No that's not him. Oh, over there! No. I can see him! Maybe not," Blaine's eyes searched the crowd for Kurt.

"Blaine, could you possibly shut up?" Finn complained. "You've been like this for the last ten minutes! Kurt is not here yet! I'll tell you when he's here, you'll never see you're just so-"

"What Finn means, Blaine honey, is that we would much prefer it if you just waited until you really do see Kurt. Anyway his flight is the next one," Carole smiled. "We probably shouldn't have come so early."

"It's fine. At least we were here in plenty of time," Blaine said.

"Let's go and get some coffee Finn, Blaine are you coming?"

"No, I'll wait here. Just in case the flight is early or something."

"But, Blaine, the arrival board said that the flight-"

"Leave it Finn!" Carole whispered as she pulled Finn towards a small coffee shop.

Blaine turned around to stare at the place from which Kurt would emerge. Kurt, all those times the two of them had had coffee together. Even those small memories meant the world to Blaine. Things that he and Kurt had done on a regular basis meant more to him than the universe. And every time they kissed it meant more to him than everything and anything. Kurt was so perfect in every way possible. He was beautiful inside and out, what he said and did was always right, he always found a way to make everything ok and he always found a way to make Blaine special even though he wasn't. Only Kurt was special. What had Blaine ever done for Kurt? Blaine could only buy Kurt with the expensive gifts that Kurt himself could never afford, but Kurt's love could not be brought. Love was something Kurt had given Blaine unconditionally. Blaine hadn't realised how strong the bond that kept them together was. Kurt had been terrified of loosing Blaine because of how strong that bond was. Blaine hadn't realised for a long time that all the small arguments Kurt had started were not out of spite but out of fear, the strong fear of losing Blaine forever. How could Blaine not have seen that?

Blaine had missed Kurt terribly since he had gone to college. He had missed him even more through the time in which they had not been a couple. He treasured everything about Kurt, he was so precious. Blaine treasured Kurt's smile, the way he laughed, the way he cried, the way he took pride in himself and never let anyone bring him down, the way he walked, the way he sat, the way he looked at Blaine. Everything about Kurt Blaine missed. The sweet sound of his voice, the way his eyes sparkled every minute he spent in Blaine's company. Kurt always made Blaine feel wanted, needed, loved.

Kurt:

"Blaine!" Kurt started to run towards Blaine, dragging his suitcases along behind him.

Blaine turned around, "Kurt!" He opened his arms and let Kurt throw himself into them.

Blaine pressed Kurt's head against his, Kurt regretted ever letting Blaine go. Kurt smiled and felt warm inside. He hadn't seen Blaine since March and it was now July, it had been four months! "I've missed you so much," Kurt whispered.

"I missed you too," Blaine said without letting go of his beautiful boyfriend.

"Kurt! There you are! We've been waiting forever! And seeing you was so not worth it!" Finn joked as he and Carole came up behind Kurt and Blaine.

Kurt laughed and hugged Finn, "I see your fashion sense is just the same as it was two months ago! Will you ever take my advice?!"

"Probably not," Finn smiled letting go of his brother.

"Carole. You look absolutely excellent! I see that your fashion sense is better than Finn's! Or Blaine's for that matter!" Kurt smiled and squeezed his stepmother tight.

"It is wonderful to have you home Kurt," Carole said warmly. "Let's get back to the car, I hate these busy airports."

The four of them turned and began to walk briskly towards the exit. Kurt felt Blaine slip his hand into his. Kurt didn't care how many homophobes were watching. They clearly had no consideration for other people. To them it would be normal if a women had just come home to see her family and kissed her boyfriend who had been waiting for at at the airport but not if a man who was in the exact same situation kissed his boyfriend.

"The car is just over here," Carole said.

Kurt and Blaine climbed into the backseat while Carole sat in the driver's seat and Finn dropped down into the passenger chair. Once the car had stated Finn turned the radio up so it was extremely loud. Carole protested a few times but let it go.

"So, are you going to let me in on any of these plans that have been secretly created," Kurt said quietly so only Blaine could hear, "Apparently it's none of my business according to Finn but I have a strong feeling it is."

"Are you sure you want to know? I know Carole and Finn wanted to keep the whole trip a surprise but I know how stressed you get..."

"I do not get stressed Blaine!" Kurt hissed.

Blaine laughed. Finn turned around.

"Your singing Finn! I crack up every time!" Blaine laughed.

"Oi!" Finn shouted. "You can talk!"

"No shouting in the car Finn. And Blaine can talk honey, he has an amazing voice. Especially when it's compared to yours."

Blaine really did burst out laughing then. So did Kurt but Finn looked rather annoyed and turned the radio louder which his mother didn't protest to.

"Come on then Blaine, tell me tell me tell me!" Kurt whispered excitedly.

"All right. As long as you act like you are dreadfully surprised."

Kurt nodded.

"And don't tell anyone I said anything."
Kurt nodded again.

"And we are both agreed that you do get a little stressed..."

Kurt raised his eyebrows. Blaine smiled.

"Well, tell me!" Kurt urged.

"Ok. Tonight Carole is cooking you a huge welcome home feast which only the four of us are invited to so I have no idea how on earth we are going to manage to eat it. Then tomorrow you and me are going to get together with some old friends from school. And in the evening we are going to my parent's house for dinner-"

"Dinner? With your parents? I...um...I've got a feeling that that will not be a very...civilised meal," Kurt looked nervous.

"Yeah, well. By parents I meant my mum. Dad is away on business, he's helping to develop a new branch in Canada-"

"Hang on. Didn't the blessed branch in Canada totally fail?"

"Yes but they're giving him another shot at it. I hope it fails just like the last one."

Kurt smiled, "What about Taylor?"
"Taylor and his girlfriend now have a very high class apartment in California."

"Lovely! What part of California?"

"Well I  tried to convince them to get an apartment in the furthest away part of California but I didn't succeed."

"California did you say Blaine? That sounds wonderful! I bet your brother is enjoying it there!" Carole butted in.

"Yes, he's quite suited to it actually," Blaine said politely.

"I can imagine," Carole laughed.

Kurt was positive that Carole and Taylor had only met once very briefly in the hall of Blaine's house when Kurt and his parents had been invited for dinner. Kurt remembered many things about that evening but the only part of his memories Taylor inhabited was the moment he had greeted them in the hallway. Kurt was sure he hadn't even bothered to show up at the dinner table!

Sighing Kurt let Blaine and Carole carry on into a conversation about Taylor which, by the time they had reached home, had turned into a conversation about Carole's new job (Kurt didn't know how the two connected at all.)

"Now Kurt honey, go upstairs and unpack your bags. And with the size and amount of bags you brought I think that activity will take us up to dinner time," Carole smiled as she unlocked the door. Finn was right behind her struggling under the weight of Kurt's bags.

"Finn, aren't you suppose to be in shape?" Kurt asked as he squeezed past Finn who was having trouble getting through the door. .

"Don't even go there Hummel!" Finn grunted. He dropped Kurt's bags in the doorway.

Kurt picked up four leaving one for Blaine, "Come on Blaine."

"Err Kurt," Carole said nervously, "Blaine should probably help me out with dinner."

Kurt knew what she was thinking. Oh my god, she was doing a Burt on him. 'You should wait till you thirty whatever Kurt!' Thinking of his father made Kurt's heart bleed.

"We'll be good Carole, I promise," Kurt smiled.

Carole glanced again at Blaine. Blaine smiled in return.

"I can't believe she actually thought we were going to..." Kurt began as they entered his bedroom. Talking about the topic made Kurt feel uncomfortable, "Well it isn't like she could stop us anyway. We're both over age and..." He trailed off again.

Blaine laughed. "Your right but I gather you don't want to. Well, welcome home Kurt."

"Yeah," Kurt said. His bedroom was exactly as he had left it when he had last visited, not a thing had been moved out of place. One of the draws was still hanging open because Kurt had over slept and they had ran to the airport after his speedy packing. Kurt walked over and closed the draw. "I've really missed you."

"I've missed you too," Blaine smiled.

Kurt went and sat down on the bed next to him. Kurt smiled back. He wanted to kiss Blaine so much...it was as if for a moment Blaine wanted to kiss Kurt.

"So how's Robbie? He couldn't wait to see the back of me last time I checked."

Kurt laughed but he wasn't very convincing because he was disappointed that he and Blaine hadn't kissed.

"What's wrong? He didn't try anything on you did he? Because if he did I'll kill him."

"No, no it's not that," Kurt had never told Blaine about his and Robbie's relationship. What Blaine didn't know wouldn't hurt him.

"Then what's up?" Blaine sounded concerned.

"Nothing I'm fine."

"Ok. I believe you. So how is Robbie?"

"Ok. He's got a boyfriend but I don't like him. He looks too much like Sebastian," Kurt grinned.

"So totally hot right?"

Kurt raised his eyebrows, Blaine laughed.

"Fine," Kurt admitted, "Totally hot."

It was small talk as they unpacked Kurt's many bags. It took ages and Kurt regretted bringing so many things.

"Well we're done," Blaine flopped down onto Kurt's bed.

Kurt lay down next to him, "Yeah. I think I'll leave some of this stuff here, I cannot be bothered to pack it all again." He smiled, "So how has your gap year been?"

"Good. There is just one more thing I said I'd do."

"Well you've still got a month before you need to think about going back to college."

"Yes but this thing needs to be done soon, very soon actually."

"Oh. So tell me what else is in store for me during my visit?"

"Well on Thursday Carole is taking you and Finn out for the day somewhere which I don't really know about as I'm not invited-"

"What do you mean you're not invited?! I want to spend every minute I have here with you."

Blaine smiled. "I don't blame her, it's been a while since she had you two boys alone. Some family time you know?"

Kurt sat up, "Fine, what about Friday?"

"On Thursday evening Carole taking you, me and Finn out for dinner and I was wondering if you wanted to come and stay at mine for the night?" Blaine sat up looking nervous. "I mean, I have you all to myself all day on Friday but I thought maybe you would want to...but if you don't I get it and everything but I wondered-"

Kurt put a finger on Blaine's lips, "I would love to."

Then Blaine kissed him, the warm feel of his lips melted Kurt's heart. Blaine wrapped his arms around Kurt waist and pulled Kurt on top of him. Kurt snaked his arms around Blaine's neck holding the one he loved. Blaine kissed Kurt so passionately; Kurt could feel Blaine heart beating against his own.

"I love you Kurt," Blaine whispered in Kurt's ear.

Kurt kissed him again. Blaine pulled back.

"Seriously, I love you so so much and I never want you to leave me and-" Blaine started.

"Shh," Kurt kissed Blaine again. Blaine kissed him back. Kurt wanted him so much. He laid his head on Blaine's chest.

"You mine forever Kurt. I've never loved anyone else. I want you, no, I need you. You're my whole world," Blaine whispered in Kurt's ear. "All those times I thought I was going to lose you; when we fought a couple of times, when you left for college, when you nearly died in hospital. Oh my god, Kurt you have no idea how I felt, I thought I was going to die of pain. If you left me then I would die because you are my life." Blaine squeezed Kurt tightly to him and kissed him lightly on his head.

"I guess you're never going to die because I would never leave you. Not ever, I could never even think about it again. Those few times I did I was stupid. How could I ever thing of losing you? I'm so lucky."

"No, I'm the lucky one. Have you looked in the mirror lately? You're beautiful."

Kurt smiled and raised his head and looked straight into Blaine's gorgeous eyes. He kissed Blaine again, not being able to resist the urge.

"Do you want to? If you don't it doesn't matter," Blaine whispered.

"Yes, it's the perfect moment."

Blaine smiled before he kissed Kurt again. He undid the top button of Kurt's shirt, "You're sure?"

"Of course."

Blaine undid the next button and then the next and then the next then, finally, pulled Kurt's shirt of him gently. Kurt felt Blaine's hands warm his chest. 'So perfect.' Kurt pulled away slowly to breath. "I love you." Kurt whispered staring down at Blaine.

Blaine's hands were still exploring Kurt's bare chest. "I love you too," he breathed. Kurt let Blaine pull him down for another kiss. "Wait, Kurt can I ask you something first?" Blaine asked quickly staring into Kurt's eyes.

"Yeah," Kurt said proping himself up on his eldows. He was still lying on Blaine who kept one arm around Kurt and another reaching into his coat pocket on the other side of the bed.

"Do you, I mean would you, I mean, will you-"

"Kurt, why are you not-?" Finn opened the door to Kurt's bedroom. "Whoops."

Quickly Kurt rolled off Blaine. Blaine sat up and stared at Finn.

"Mum said that she knew this was going to happen. If she figures it out she'll go-"

"Hey, my bad," Blaine got up of Kurt's bed and put his hands up as if he was surrendering. He backed out the door and swung it shut behind him.

"Finn!" Kurt almost screamed at his stepbrother, "How could you do that?!"

"Do what?" Finn was evidently confused. He made a face at Kurt which reminded him that he wasn't wearing a shirt.

"How could you just barge in like that?!" Kurt grabbed his shirt and began to pull it on while walking towards the door of his bedroom, "Anyway Carole can't stop us! It's perfectly legal and she needs to work out that she doesn't have the power to stop me!" Kurt was nearing his door, "And I wouldn't give a damn what she said because you just ruined everything anyway!" Kurt opened the door and slammed it shut.

Kurt threw himself into his chair at the dinner table.

"Kurt sweety, what's wrong?" Carole asked kindly while she served up dinner which included; roast beef, roasted and mashed potatoes, stuffing balls and several vegetable dishes.

"He left his headphones at his apartment," Blaine said as he sat down next to Kurt.

"Well that's nothing to get into such a huff about! Finn has about ten pairs he'll lend you some, won't you darling?"

Finn who had just entered the room looked at Carole in a strange way, "Yeah, sure."

Carole smiled as she sat down at the dinner table opposite Kurt, "There you go Kurt. Nothing to worry about."

Kurt smiled back. He felt Blaine squeezed his hand underneath the table.

Though the meal Carole had cooked was delicious the atmosphere at the table was crap. The things people were talking about were things that either Kurt had already heard or wouldn't care about anyway. The genuine batter bored him and he was wishing he was back in his bedroom with Blaine.

"How's college going Kurt?" Carole asked.

"Sorry?" Kurt replied he had only been listening from the point she had said Kurt.

"How's college?"

"Fine," Kurt nreplied blankly and returned to picking at his food.

A couple of minutes passed.

"Do you not like the meal Kurt?" Carole asked.

"Sorry?"

"Do you not like the meal. I thought you liked this," Carole looked hurt.

"It's delcious," Kurt smiled and then stuffed a large roast potato into his mouth and gave Carole a cheezy thumbs up. Finn started to snort into his napkin, Kurt could have killed him, but Carole looked pleased.

Blaine:

"And one final toast to Mr Kurt Hummel, welcome home babe," Blaine shouted. Was he drunk? He couldn't remember.

"Well Blaine you should probably be getting home but you can't drive like that! I would not be being responsible if I allowed you to drive in this condition," Carole looked worried.

"I'll take him!" Finn said.

"No Finn, your as drunk as he is!" Carole looked upset.

"I'll take him Carole," Kurt smiled.

"But Kurt..."

"I haven't drunk a thing," Kurt said taking Blaine's arm. Blaine knew that Carole wasn't thinking about how much Kurt had drunk.

Kurt's stepmother was still looking nervous, "I'll take him."

"Nonsense. You go to bed. You just cooked the most delicious meal I've had in months! I'll take Blaine home and then come back and clean up."

"Well...ok. Be back soon."

Kurt tugged Blaine towards the door. "I'm sorry about earlier," Kurt said as he started the engine. "I really am."

"It wasn't your fault babe. We can do it soon. How about now?" Blaine reached over and took Kurt's hand.

"Blaine! Please I'm driving," Kurt pulled away.

"Then stop driving!"

"No way. I'm taking you home before your mum gets worried," Kurt said firmly.

Blaine was hurt and then angry, "You mean your mum. Did you not see her, she's flip if a kissed you more than once in an hour," He grunted.

"Carole's just over protective that's all. She doesn't want anything bad to happen to me, she doesn't want me to get hurt."

Blaine laughed, "And she thinks I'm going to hurt you. You're kidding me right, I love you Kurt, I would never hurt you."

"I know," Kurt whispered.

Blaine felt triumphant for the rest of the journey.

"I'll see you tomorrow. Do you want me to bring your car back?" Kurt asked as Blaine opened the car door.

"Why don't you just come in?" Blaine asked.

"Because I have to get back for Carole."

"So you want to be with Carole more than me?" Blaine was confused.

"Don't be silly. Didn't I tell you earlier that I wanted to spend every second possible while I was here with you? I just need to get back otherwise Carole will probably send out a search party and get you arrested for kidnapping."

Blaine looked into Kurt's eyes, "You’re not a kid anymore Kurt which means two things; Carole can't get me arrested for kidnapping and she can't order you around anymore."

"Then she'll get you for abduction. Listen Blaine," Kurt pulled Blaine back into the car, "I love you more than anything in the universe but we'll have all of Thursday night and Friday together. I need to go home ok?" Kurt kissed Blaine lightly on the lips. Blaine pulled him in for a longer kiss that, if Blaine had his wish, would have lasted forever.

"Can I just ask you something first?"

"Blaine seriously I need to get back!" Kurt laughed.

Blaine reached into his pocket, "It's really important."

"Well, you can ask me tomorrow ok?"

"Yeah. I love you babe," Blaine whispered against Kurt's soft warm cheek.
"I know, I love you too."
"Night."

"Goodnight."

Blaine watched Kurt drive away. His house was dark and silent, his mother was clearly already in bed. Blaine felt a little faint as he climbed up the stairs. He couldn't remember drinking that much. In his bedroom he pulled off his shirt pulled before he could pull off his chinos he flopped into bed and snuggled under the covers. Sleep came to him immediately though his mind was thinking of something else.

Kurt:

Kurt felt concerned as Blaine fell into the passenger seat of his own car that Kurt had driven back to his that morning.

"I'm guessing you don't want to drive then," Kurt said sarcastically.

Blaine grunted in return.

"Are you sure you want to go today? You don't sound too well," Kurt put his hand on Blaine's thigh.

"I'm fine. I just a little tired," Blaine tried to smile at Kurt but Kurt wasn't taking any of it.

"I've got some aspirin water," Kurt rummaged through his back and pulled out a packet of aspirin and a bottle of water. Blaine took the aspirin and drained the bottle. "You absolutely positive you want to go?"

"Yes. I don't want to disappoint anybody."

Kurt started the engine and drove towards Breadsticks. Kurt hadn't been there in two years, he wondered if it had changed. "Are you going to tell me who's going? You only said it was people from school."

"Yeah, it is," Blaine seemed to have perked up a bit.

"You're not going to tell me, are you?"

"Well, Finn's going."

"I'm looking forward to it already!"

Blaine burst out laughing, Kurt smiled.

"Kurt can you stop the car for a minute?" Blaine asked more seriously.

"Oh my God! You're not going to be sick, are you?" Kurt looked worried as he pulled over.

"No," Blaine said as he looked at Kurt.

"I don't believe you. Let's get out, you will not be pleased to have sick in your car," Kurt climbed out of the car and helped Blaine out the other side.

Blaine took Kurt's hand, "Can we walk for a bit?"

"If you're planning to walk your hang over off then ok. But if you actually throw up I'm taking you home straight away."

They walked for a while towards a children's play park. Blaine sat on a bench a little way of from where three girls were playing on the swinging. Kurt sat next to him. "Kurt, if I asked..."

"If you asked..." Kurt prompted.

"If I asked...would you, do you think...but only if you actually wanted to because seriously if you don't then you don't have to but...if I really did ask..."

"This isn't about the sex thing is it Blaine?" Kurt asked looking into Blaine's eyes. "Because you already know my answer and I'm not ever going to change it."

"It's not that. It's something else..."

"Blaine, what's wrong?"
"Nothing’s wrong," Blaine paused for a couple of seconds, "You know I love you?"

"How could I not know that?"

"I just want to make sure because..."

"I'll love you forever Blaine. You already know that and it's never going to change," Kurt kissed Blaine's cheek and stood up. "Let's get back to the car," Kurt smiled holding out his hand.

Blaine took it, "We don't want to be late."

As they walked together in silence Kurt was thinking, why was Blaine saying that he loved Kurt a lot? Not that Kurt had a problem with it but it was just different. And what was this thing he kept saying he wanted to ask him? It was probably something terrible like: 'Kurt would you mind if I moved to Sweden. I want to do a degree in Methodology and i need some workexperience.' Kurt's face fell at the thought. 'Get a grip Kurt! Blaine's studying Medicine not Methodology! And why would he need to go to Sweden to get work experience? Get a hold of yourself Kurt Hummel, why are you acting so crazy?'

They were the last people from the gathering to arrive at Breadsticks. Rachel saw Kurt first and ran into his arms, "Kurt! It's so great to see you! How are you? You look well. How's college? I was going to phone you last week about my wedding plans but I thought I'd wait until I saw you in person. You already know I got the venue but I found a perfect place to make my cake! Do you know how long the waiting lists for those places are. It's absolutely ridiculous-" Rachel managed to get all this out in about fifteen seconds.

"Our cake Rachel, remember it's our wedding," Finn came up behind her and put his hands on her shoulders.

"Of course. But I know something that isn't ours. My dress! Oh Kurt you have to take me shopping for one, obviously you won't be paying for it..." Rachel rambled on about the type of dress she wanted. Finn gave Kurt a sympathetic look but Kurt knew that he should be the one feeling sorry for Finn. He would have to deal with this every day.

Kurt had totally forgotten that Rachel and Finn had gotten engaged in May. Rachel, being Rachel, had rushed into the wedding plans trying making everything as perfect as it could be. It was only at that moment that Kurt wondered why Rachel hadn't been with his family at dinner last night. Technically she was more family to Carole and Finn than Blaine was.

Mercedes was the next to jump into Kurt's arms. "It's so great to see you! It's been too long!" Mercedes let go of Kurt and smiled, "Can you believe I am the only one who didn't bring a date?! If I'd have known it was a couples gathering I would have brought my boyfriend!" Kurt remembered Mercedes current boyfriend from when he had dropped her off at Kurt's apartment the December before. His name was Ryan McKnight and was a couple of years older than Mercedes.

At the thought of what Mercedes had said about a couples gathering he looked around. She was right, there was; Rachel and Finn, Santana and Brittany, Sam and Quinn )who were holding hands so Kurt assumed they were together), Puck and some random girl who looked somehow familiar to Kurt and of course him and Blaine.

While Mercedes moved on to greet Blaine, Brittany hugged Kurt tightly, "Hey Kurt."

"Hey," Kurt replied.

"Are you ok?"

"I'm ok," Kurt smiled and Brittany smiled back.

Santana nodded in Kurt's direction looking as if she would have rather been somewhere else at this point in time.

Next, to Kurt's surprise, Quinn hugged Kurt. She greeted him, asked how he was and how college was going.

Sam said hello to Kurt and smiled at Blaine.

Puck came forward and introduced his girlfriend, "Kurt, Blaine, this is Kate." Kate smiled and looked Kurt up and down. "I met her at this party in New York that I wasn't invited to."

"Oh my god Puck! When you said Kurt I didn't realise you meant Kurt Hummel! We already know each other! I'm his roommates, Robbie's, ex-girlfriend. It's so great to see you again Kurt," Kate laughed. 'Please don't talk as much as you used to Kate.'

"Hi. It's been a while," Kurt replied.

"Yeah it has! I couldn't believe it when Robbie told me he wanted to break up because he had fallen in love with his roommate! I thought it was weird for him to have a girl as a roommate. But when he and Kurt broke up he got straight back together with me!" That wasn't entirely true. Robbie hadn't had a proper boyfriend or girlfriend for a couple of months after he and Kurt had broken up. "He told me everything about his gay roommate Kurt and about their relationship! He even told me about how they almost-"

"Excuse me," Blaine cut in, "Did you just say broke up with Kurt?"

"Well of course," Kate laughed, "Your his boyfriend now aren't you?"

Kurt glanced at Blaine, Blaine was staring at him in disbelief. 'I should have told him! I'm an idiot!'

"Well anyway I didn't realise that-" Kate began.
"Let's go inside," Rachel had seen Kurt and Blaine looking at each other.

Blaine took his eyes off Kurt, "I'm not very hungry," He said then he started walking back across the parking lot to his car.

Kurt stayed where he was for a few seconds letting the thoughts file threw his head, "Blaine!" Kurt yelled running towards Blaine car. He had just had time to swing his legs inside before Blaine zoomed off. "Blaine I'm sorry. I just thought it didn't matter. It wasn't important it was all wrong-" Kurt speaking with tears falling down his face, "Blaine please don't drive this fast. You're going to kill us both!"

Blaine kept his eyes on the road ahead. "I don't care," Blaine grunted.

"Please stop, please Blaine, please!"

Blaine pulled the car over and stopped with a jolt. He got out and slammed the door. "WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME?!" Blaine yelled as Kurt got out of the car.

"Because it meant nothing to me, I never loved him. I was just lonely. It was all wrong-"

"WHY DIDN'T YOU CALL ME THEN?!" Blaine demanded, "I WOULD HAVE TAKEN YOU BACK ANYTIME!"

Kurt didn't know what to say.

"I'VE MET THAT BOY! THE THINGS HE TALKS ABOUT...WHAT DID HE DO TO YOU KURT?!"

"Nothing, nothing happened. We just kissed a bit and well I suppose we almost-"

"ARE YOU TELLING ME THAT YOU ALMOST HAD SEX WITH ROBBIE GRENNHILL? ARE YOU TELLING ME YOU HAD A WHOLE RELATIONSHIP WITH HIM?!!!"

"It was barely a fortnight, it was nothing Blaine I love you please."

People were beginning to look it their direction. Kurt and Blaine stood about three metres from each other.

"Please Blaine, I love you and nobody else."
Blaine clutched his own hair and started yanking at it, "WE'RE SUPPOSE TO TELL EACH OTHER EVERYTHING! THAT'S WHY I TOLD YOU ABOUT SEBASTIAN!"

"EXACTLY SEBASTIAN I BET YOU AND SEBASTIAN HAD SEX A BUNCH OF TIMES!" Kurt had started to yell.

"WELL WE..."

"Oh my God, you did. YOU ACTUALLY DID!" Kurt put his hands over his face.

"WELL I'M SOOOOO SORRY!" Blaine yelled sarcastically.

"I REALLY AM SORRY!"

"YOU DON'T NEED TO BE!"

"I WON'T BE BECAUSE YOU CLEARLY AREN'T SORRY THAT YOU HAD SEX WITH SEBASTIAN TWENTY ODD TIMES. YOU DIDN'T TELL ME THAT DID YOU? WHAT HAPPENED TO THE WHOLE 'TELL ME THIS, TELL ME EVERYTHING KURT BECAUSE I TRUST YOU KURT' THING?!!!"

"Kurt I'm sorry. It was only a couple of times..."

"ONCE OR A HUNDRED, IT DOESN'T MAKE A DIFFERENCE!" Kurt walked quickly back to the car.

"Kurt! Please I...Kurt!"

Kurt could hear Blaine shout after him but Kurt didn't care. He started the engine of Blaine's car and drove home.

Blaine:

Blaine was surprised when he heard the doorbell ring that evening. Naturally, he hadn't told his mother that he and Kurt had fought earlier and if Kurt didn't show up for dinner Blaine had planned to tell his mother he had just called to say he was ill.

Blaine skidded down the hallway all the way to the door, stopping only briefly to straighten his bow tie in the mirror, he opened the door and there was Kurt, looking as gorgeous as ever, holding a bouquet of flowers, "Hey," Blaine smiled.

"Hello," Kurt smiled tensely.

"Kurt darling! How are you? Oh are those for me thank you! You really shouldn't have," Blaine watched his mother great Kurt and usher him inside. She took the flowers from him still beaming, "Blaine you must take Kurt upstairs! The chefs are not ready for the meal yet. I would invite you into the living room but it’s being decorating and is in a terrible mess. Go on now shoo shoo!" A maid had appeared behind Blaine's mother and taken the flowers from her so Cassandra now had her hands free to shoo them off upstairs.

Blaine led the way, he could feel Kurt keeping a distance from him. When he had shut the bedroom door he took Kurt into his arms and kissed his forehead, his nose and then his mouth lightly. "Please Kurt I am so sorry. I was over reacting in the first place I started the argument and I'm sorry. Those times with Sebastian didn't mean anything to me. I love you so much."

Kurt didn't embrace Blaine back. Instead he unwrapped Blaine's arms from around him and stepped back, "Please don't do that."

Blaine let his hands drop to his side staring at Kurt in disbelief. "I-I thought be-because-you came tonight-you would-would forgive me," Blaine stumbled clumsily over his words.

"I didn't want to disappoint your mother. She's a lovely woman," Kurt replied plainly and without emotion.

"Then you don't forgive me?"
"You shouldn't be forgiving me, so why should I forgive you?"

"I do forgive you, in fact there's nothing to forgive. I love you Kurt, I was getting mad at nothing. You love me too that's why you should forgive me," Blaine took Kurt's face in his hands, "Look me in the eyes and tell me you don't love me. You should forgive me because you love me, if you tell me you don't then...that's another story."

Kurt remained silent, he didn't seem able to say anything though he remained firm. Blaine's phone vibrated from on the bed, "I think you just got a text," Kurt said.

Blaine dropped his hands. "It'll be mum saying dinner's ready. She got a new phone and is taking advantage of technology," Blaine walked towards the door.

"I think I'll just use the bathroom first. I'll be right down," Kurt said.

Blaine stood outside the bathroom door, he could hear Kurt whispering to himself and he could tell that the silent tears were rushing down his boyfriend's face.

Blaine watched Kurt chat politely to Cassandra though the starter and main course. He laughed at all her jokes, answered all her questions and complements the decor of the dining room and the wonderful food. It was only until dessert was being served that Kurt took Blaine's hand underneath the table. Blaine looked at Kurt, Kurt didn't look back but Blaine knew he was smiling inside.

"Bye Kurt!" Cassandra called from the doorway, "We must have you for dinner again soon!"

Blaine reversed out of the driveway and drove Kurt home as Kurt didn't have his car with him. "Kurt-" Blaine began.

"I'm the one who should be sorry," Kurt said.

"You just don't forgive easily do you?"
"I guess I don't."

They drove for a while in silence.

"I love you so much Blaine," Kurt whispered suddenly.

Blaine smiled, "I love you too."

Ten minutes later, Blaine pulled onto the side of the road just outside Kurt's house. "Look at me Kurt."

Kurt turned and stared into Blaine eyes. Blaine noticed once again how they sparkled so perfectly, he took Kurt's hand, "Kurt will you-"

"Kurt there you are!" Carole called from the doorway of Kurt's house. "I've been waiting forever!"

"She really doesn't trust us does she?" Blaine smiled.

"No, she doesn't. I have to go. I'll see you tomorrow ok?" Kurt smiled, kissed Blaine and got out of the car.

"Yeah, see you tomorrow. Love you."

Blaine woke at two o'clock in the morning. He rolled over onto his side and stared at the box on his bedside table. 'On Friday I'll take him for a picnic in the park. Then I'll have his full attention.' Blaine rolled onto his other side, 'He's going to say yes, I just know.' Blaine fell asleep again.

Kurt:

Kurt sat opposite Blaine on the picnic blanket on the sunny Friday afternoon. It was the perfect day. Blaine was going on about something he had done in Greece in June. It didn't interest Kurt at all but he was enjoying looking at Blaine's beautiful face.

"You’re not listening are you?"

"Nope," Kurt smiled.

"When did I lose you?"

"At the point when you were talking about you doing something. It's not exciting unless I've done it."

Blaine laughed, "Are you telling me that things are only exciting if Kurt Hummel does them and not Blaine Anderson?"
"Yeah. Technically I'm pointing out how awful you are and how amazing I am!"

Without warning Blaine grabbed Kurt and began tickling him, Kurt squealed. When Blaine stopped Kurt lay down with his head on Blaine legs. He had Blaine open something behind him and then in front of his appeared a small box with a ring with a four rubies and one diamond in the middle, "Blaine," Kurt gasped as he sat up next to Blaine.

"Will you marry me Kurt?"

Kurt stared at the ring. "Oh my God Blaine, oh my God," Kurt whispered. He couldn't take his eyes off the ring.

"Just tell me, yes or no?"

Kurt looked at Blaine, "Yes, oh Blaine. Yes, yes, yes!" Kurt smiled.

Blaine took Kurt's left hand and put the ring on Kurt's finger the he kissed Kurt for a long long time. They held each other in a tight embrace, "Now your mine and I'll never leave you. I'll love you always," Blaine whispered.

Kurt smiled again, "Always and forever," He whispered back leaning his head on Blaine's shoulder.
