A Different Kind of Date

Kurt and Blaine were at the Lima Bean. Kurt looked a little bored as Blaine sat down with his usual medium drip with cinnamon flavour.

"What’s wrong, Kurtsie?" said Blaine

"Well, we do the same thing every week. I mean, I get my Grande non-fat mocha, you get a medium drip, we talk about musicals and stuff we both seriously don’t care about because we wanna talk about feelings and the fact that we haven’t kissed or felt like a couple for frickin' ages because of the stupid homophobes and because you're "not very good at romance" and I’m worried that we'll get murdered or...." said Kurt angrily

"Uh Kurt, umm, it’s just..."

"No, Blaine! You just don’t care. You are the first person I've ever loved, the first I've ever kissed. But you don’t care about me and how I'm feeling!"

"Kurt, please! Kurt!" Blaine said sounding very annoyed.

SATURDAY!

Kurt was curled up on the sofa watching project runway, as his phone went off.

"I guess I'll go" he muttered to himself.

AT THE PARK!

Blaine nervously tapped his cold fingers on the picnic basket. Where was Kurt? "Oh no, he bailed on me..." Then he saw a bright yellow coat and black skinny jeans walk over to him. "Yes, its Kurt!" he thought happily.

 Kurt saw Blaine sitting on a blanket next to a huge basket. What was he up to? He sat down next to him.

"Hey, you." said Blaine

"Hey." said Kurt bluntly

"Oh, ok. Um, so I-I bought, uuh, some-some…" Blaine rubbed his neck nervously.

"Hey wait. Are you, are you nervous?" Kurt asked.

"Uh, maybe?"

"What, don’t be. I’m your boyfriend, you can’t be nervous around me." Kurt said reassuringly.

"Ok, so I bought some take-away coffee and some magazines and, this." said Blaine more confidently.

He reached into the basket and pulled out a small velvet box.

"AAH!" Kurt cried.

"What? Are you ok, Kurt?!"

"You’re- you're proposing?!" said Kurt worriedly.

"No, no," he laughed "Open it."

Kurt opened the small box to reveal a cute keychain with a heart charm and some writing engraved onto it. It read I love you so much, don’t ever forget that. "Aww, Blaine Anderson! I love you too, so much!" said Kurt falling into his boyfriend’s arms.

Blaine laughed sheepishly. He pulled out a Marion Cotillard vogue issue.

"Oh Blainers, you know, for someone who isn’t ‘very good at romance’, you are pretty good!!" Kurt laughed. They flicked through the pages, pointing out outfits they liked and hated. People they thought were hot and who were ugly. Blaine made jokes about a dress some model was wearing and Kurt laughed in a smitten way. They drank the coffee. They had a leaves fight and Blaine picked up Kurt and spun him around. Kurt just smiled and he thought, "Oh, Blaine really does care about me."

Then it began to downpour. Blaine dropped Kurt on a pile of leaves and collected everything together. Kurt yelled,

"NOOO, MY HAIR! I SPENT TWO HOURS GETTING IT LIKE THIS!" 

After Blaine had collected everything together, he said to Kurt:

"I think it looks, amazing."

Kurt stroked Blaine's cheek and stared into his gorgeous eyes. He pulled Blaine into a kiss, his wet lips touching Blaine’s. The moment he had been waiting for, for almost 6 months. The rain was falling on his hair, that he had spent ages doing. But he didn’t care. His hands raked through Blaine’s hair as they pulled apart. They stared at each other. Blaine’s hair was up like an elves and Kurt’s had gone really frizzy. They burst out laughing before picking up their things and walking back to The Lima Bean, hand in hand.
