The next morning, Kurt walked into the studio with puffy eyes. He hadn’t been able to sleep at all in the previous night. Whenever his eyes had drooped, his mind replayed Blaine's oh-so-sexy speech and the way his dark eyes smoldered with anger.

And of course, one thing led to another, Kurt had had some very, very inappropriate thoughts through the night, a few of which had involved thoughts of a very, very shirtless Blaine.

Kurt’s thoughts wandered again as half-naked Blaine came into his mind... mmm.

Kurt shook away the dirty images as he headed to what Chrystie had told him would be his office. He couldn’t afford to think like that, especially not about his boss.

Immediately, thoughts of a scandalous, surreptitious relationship crossed his mind.

Kurt shook his head again, ruefully. What had gotten into him? He normally wasn’t such a pervert. And towards Blaine, no less! Blaine, his ex-boyfriend. Ex, as in no longer his boyfriend. These thoughts were not appropriate for someone who is definitely not Blaine’s boyfriend.

He reached his office and chuckled somewhat sadly at his own thoughts. What would Rachel think when Kurt told her? Of course, she would blow everything out of proportion, saying that he was still in love with Blaine, and then would proceed to ramble about how Blaine probably reciprocated the feelings. But Kurt didn’t love Blaine. Not anymore, at least.

Or did he?

Kurt stumbled as the small voice entered his brain.

“Woah, are you okay?”

Having automatically flung out his arms in hopes of breaking his fall, Kurt froze.

Arms were around him. Very, very strong arms.

Kurt automatically closed his eyes and breathed in the smell of a familiar cologne.

Blaine’s cologne.

Blaine.

It was Blaine!

Kurt’s eyes shot open, and the same eyes that he had had such scandalous thoughts about last night peered back at him.

“Kurt?”

He winced. Gosh, he felt like an idiot, just sniffing Blaine like a freaking stalker. Well, Kurt couldn’t do anything about it now. He braced himself and put on a fake smile, grinning toothily.

“Oh, thanks for catching me, Blaine.” He disentangled himself from the muscular arms and awkwardly stepped back. “Um, what brings you here... so early... in the day?”

Blaine raised his eyebrows and glanced at the clock. “Early? It’s ten thirty. You should have been here two hours ago.”

Kurt’s eyes widened. “Oh... it... is ten thirty. I’m so sorry! I must have gotten up late.”

“It’s fine,” Blaine said, waving his hand in the air to dismiss Kurt’s frantic apology. “Now, shall we get to work?”

Kurt settled into his chair and watched as Blaine sat down across from him. “What do we have to work on? I mean, I know I’m supposed to do clothing and everything, but um... you know...?”

Luckily Blaine seemed to get what he was asking. “Why am I here? Oh, well, I kind of have to give you some input... For the concert, I mean. It’s because I have certain songs that... um... are a bit sad... and a darker colour scheme would be better, and would suit the mood more, and stuff...I guess.”

Kurt nodded understandingly. There was nothing he understood more than getting the right colours to go with a certain mood. “Alright, but Chrystie said the next concert isn’t for a week or so, so I’d like to get a few ideas on what we’re trying to work with. Um, we can work on something else though, I guess. The next photo shoot is tomorrow, right?”

“Yeah, at the same time and place,” Blaine confirmed with a nod.

“Okay, so let’s work on that... so, what do you think you want as far as ensemble? The darker colors you suggested for your concert, or we could go with more casual wear, or formal if you’d prefer, or what?”

Blaine’s eyes widened this time.

“Well... um... Chrystie... had an idea.. and I kind of have to go along with it... ‘cause the label wants me to... well, you see...um... the label wants me to gushuttlus.” He muttered the end of his nervous rant very quickly, not quite meeting Kurt’s eyes.

“They want you to go shuttles?” Kurt asked, puzzled.

He watched as Blaine’s face tinted red. “No... they want me... for the next photo shoot... to... to... to go... um... shirtless.”

Immediately, Kurt’s mind continued the fantasies it was having before...

Because really, Blaine freaking shirtless!

Kurt got hot under the collar as his thoughts whirled.

Blaine... without... a freaking shirt! The abs that he wanted to bake cookies on. The chest that he just wanted to lick...

Kurt suddenly snapped out of it. He had broken up with Blaine, not the other way around, and he couldn’t afford to forget that.

Then he realised the inevitable: He would have to fit Blaine for everything else, rearrange scarves, jeans, belts, everything... all while Blaine was shirtless.

Oh yeah, Kurt was definitely in some serious shit.

“Um, Kurt?” Blaine’s voice broke through his thoughts.

“Yeah?”

“You just kind of... spaced out for a second. Are you alright?”

Kurt blushed as he realised that he had indeed spent the last few minutes daydreaming. “Yeah... I’m fine. So... um... shirtless? Okay. Well, so what’s the theme of this shoot? The last one was something about city life, am I right?”

“Yeah, I think it was like “Living in New York” or something. I don’t really know. But, well the label thinks that I need to expand my horizons or whatever, so they didn’t really care about themes, they just wanted me... well, shirtless. Just because of like... I have fans who... yeah.” Blaine finished awkwardly.

“Ah...well... can I think about that for a bit. I didn’t ever imagine that I would have to style for a shirtless shoot. I mean, there isn’t a shirt, so that greatly limits the possibilities. All the best outfits are completed with a shirt after all. Of course there are other things you can do to make up for the lack of a shirt, and accessories are a little harder, but the hair is way easier to work with... and...”

Kurt knew he was babbling, and by the look of Blaine’s face he did too, but he didn’t know what to do. Last time Blaine was shirtless in front of him... things were... let’s just say that the circumstances were very, very different.

“You know what, Blaine? We can start on the concert, instead. I’ll work on the photo shoot at home.” Kurt said decisively, realizing that unless he took control of his thoughts, this whole thing wasn’t going to work out.

Blaine nodded, but Kurt thought he saw a flash of disappointment. “Yeah, okay. What do you have so far?”

“Well...”

They spent the next two hours figuring out every detail of the concert wardrobe. By twelve thirty, both of them were famished and decided to go and grab lunch. They found themselves tucked in the back of a small cafe where Blaine was the least likely to get recognized. The last thing they needed was a replay of the previous night.

“So...” Kurt trailed.

“So...?”

“Um, how’s it like being a music star?”

Blaine’s expression brightened and he started talking animatedly about how much he loved his job. Looking at him, Kurt knew that this was why he was so famous--because Blaine truly was passionate about every aspect of what he did. He loved his life, he loved his fans, and most of all, he loved his music.

Kurt stared at him in awe.

Blaine truly was beautiful.

It wasn’t the lust filled thoughts from earlier in the day. It wasn’t the obvious physical attraction he had towards Blaine. No, it most definitely was something else.

Blaine simply was... complete. He had accomplished his goals and was living his dream. Kurt had always known he would, really. Ever since Kurt had watched the dapper sixteen-year-old Blaine sing Teenage Dream on day they had first met, Kurt had known that he was too good for little old Ohio. Kurt knew that someday he’d find his way out into stardom. Seeing Blaine here, making art and sharing it with the world, it made him almost... proud.

Kurt mentally rolled his eyes. He was acting like such a sap. But then again, that was what Blaine did best: brought out the closet romantic in him.

Kurt sighed. This whole thing bugged him. Working with Blaine was amazing; after all, he did get a chance to take a taste of what working in the fashion industry would be like, something which had always been one of Kurt’s dreams. But everything was just so wrong about it. He had been constantly worrying about what to do about Blaine; even his college friends had noticed that something was off, and that was hard to do, seeing as his friends were about as dense as six doughnuts squished into a sandwich bag.

There was no doubt that he would be losing a lot of sleep over this. Kurt actually considered calling Rachel to have her come over and reprise some of their good old fashioned sleepovers with plenty of comfort food and stacks of Broadway DVDs.

But why?

Well, there was nothing for it. Kurt Elizabeth Hummel was officially confused about his feelings concerning a certain Blaine Anderson.

A few steps up from being confused about being confused about Blaine, but not a change that he necessarily welcomed.

But, on the bright side, Kurt thought as he gazed at a still talking Blaine, life was about to get a heck of a lot more interesting.
