Open Up My Eager Eyes

Chapter 5: Out Part 1

"Blaine do you know what time it is?" Blaine's mother asked with a cold look. Blaine didn't know what to say.

"Didn't I tell you not to stay out too la- Is that makeup? Blaine what the- and why are you wet? Blaine Anderson where were you tonight?" Her voice got louder and louder as she went on, Blaine had completely forgot about his makeup and that he got wet from the slushy and carrying Isabelle.

"I was just hanging out with Isabelle she was playing with makeup and I just let her do it." He lied he didn't sound convincible but he was trying.

"And. Why. are .you. wet?" She asked, frustrated.

Shit, Blaine knew he was caught now so he figured he might as well tell the truth.

"I went to a party." He mumbled looking at his feet guiltily.

"Excuse me?" He mother sounded aggravated and of course she was.

"I said I went to a party, mom, alright?" He sighed.

"No it's not alright! Didn't I tell you that girl was going to be nothing but trouble?" She yelled and it practically echoed through the entire house.

"Mom keep your voice down you wake her…" Blaine caught himself he was in big trouble now.

"Blaine Anderson who would I be waking up exactly?" She asked menacingly

"Isabelle." Blaine simply stated he had completely given up lying at this point.

"You mean to tell me that that there is a girl sleeping in this house, in your room, without my permission?"

"Mom I can explain." He huffed trying to calm himself down.

"You shouldn't have to explain anything to me Blaine I told you before how I felt about you having a girlfriend and then you just decide to bring a stray like that girl here? Like it wouldn't matter?" Blaine flinched when she said "girlfriend" and "stray". Blaine was just plain annoyed at this point, it seemed like everyone was jumping on him and Isabelle and it wasn't fair, Blaine had reached his breaking point.

"Would you just-just stop? I'm not a child! Isabelle is my friend and she is not a stray. If it makes you feel better she doesn't even like boys mom, she's a lesbian. So yeah Isabelle is my best lesbian non-stray friend! And I think I'm old enough to go to one party I have been nothing but responsible and well behaved I think I deserve at least a night of a few hours of freedom." He huffed and ran his fingers through his slightly damp curls; his mother just stared blankly at him.

"Blaine…what happened?" She asked quietly, Blaine looked at her in confusion.

"What happened to the boy I raised? The boy who didn't go to parties, or hang out with strangers, or socialize with people like her, o-or talk to me this way? What happened? What did I do wrong?" there were tears beginning to rush to her water line as she spoke and her lip quivered. Blaine blocked out almost everything she said except for one part.

"What do you mean people like her?" Blaine remembered that he just blurted about Isabelle's sexuality which in that case not only let his mom know he didn't mind that but it could also lead him to what his mother thought on the subject.

"Like Isabelle…" She gave a small whimper.

"You mean gay, lesbian, bi or whatever?" Blaine was getting a bit angry, was his mother homophobic?

"Y-yes that but answer me Blaine what happened?" She sobbed and wrapped her arms around herself.

"Nothing happened mom but wha-what is so wrong that my best friend isn't straight she's still normal." Blaine took a small step back towards the step preparing him for whatever shit might hit the fan.

"Blaine do you not know anything about that…that community and those peoples lifestyle?" She sounded disgusted and it tore Blaine apart.

"Mom their lifestyle is no different than anyone else's…and do you actually have p-problem with g-gays?" He tried to hold back tears; this couldn't be how his mother was…it just couldn't.

"Blaine you don't know the truth about them they can be very…distasteful and inappropriate. It just isn't normal." She managed to say through her small sobs still thinking that this conversation was about Blaine's whereabouts.

"W-would you say I'm normal?" Blaine whispered gripping the hem of his shirt.

"Of course b-but Blaine that doesn't matter right now, you need to get back on track." Blaine only heard half of her sentence before blanking out, he was going to say it for once and for all.

"W-well it does matter because…because I'm gay." He finally let the tears go before they developed out of frustration but now they were somewhat tears of joy. Having the joy of just saying it and letting it out to her, she needed to know.

Blaine watched as his mother put her hand over her mouth and start sobbing uncontrollably for some reason he couldn't take his eyes off her, he just wanted her to say something.

"I-I am still your normal son…mom. I know this is prob-probobly a lot f-for you but I'm still me, I'm still the son you have loved. I think…I-I'm just going to g-give you some space." She managed to say between sobs and gasps before turning and leaving up the stairs and throwing himself next to Isabelle who was sound asleep.

Tonight had been one of the worst nights Blaine Anderson had ever dealt with or been through, yeah that's for damn sure.

Blaine was woken up by the sound of his mother's car leaving the driveway for work he sat up easily but like usual his back hurt. When Blaine peered next to him the spot was empty and all that was there was a wet spot on the pillow from Isabelle's hair and a single silver ring she wore the other night. Blaine shot up and jogged downstairs and looked around, no sign of her. Blaine sighed and headed up stairs to take a shower, he would go over to Isabelle's house once he was cleaned up.

Blaine cried a bit while he showered when he recapped last night, his mother left downstairs to deal with the fact that her son was gay. His best friend drenched and humiliated because he didn't stay with her along with the fact there was something she was hiding. Blaine definitely planned on actually talking to his mom about their situation but for now he had to get to Isabelle.

Blaine dried off his hair and threw on some clean clothes and then he was out the door. This time he bothered to knock on the door and when it opened he was welcomed by a new face.

"Hello." A tall woman with raven dark hair cut to her collar bone, her eyes were a dark green and her complexion like vanilla. She could be…could she?

"H-hi I'm Blaine um Anderson I'm Isabelle's friend." he said hesitantly.

"Oh! You're the Blaine Izzy won't stop talking about! It's great to finally meet you I'm Rosalind her mother." She gasped and smiled, extending her elegant hand towards Blaine. He shook it and smiled, she really didn't look like Isabelle it was odd.

"I was wondering if I could speak with her. I don't know if that's…"

"Oh no! That's just fine she's up in her room, I'm not sure if she's up but she needs to come eat anyways." She opened the door and gestured him inside.

"It was lovely talking to you Blaine but my pancakes are gonna burn now head upstairs!" She giggled and playfully smacked his shoulder and headed over to the kitchen.

Blaine walked up the stairs quietly until he finally reached Isabelle's door, he knocked softly two times and nothing. He took one last breath before twisting the door knob and walking in; there bunched up in her bed was Isabelle. Her chest rose and fell softly as she slept and for once her face was completely stripped of any kind of makeup. It was surprising how different she looked without all the eyeliner, concealer, and false lashes.

Blaine tiptoed over to her bed her scars became more visible as he inched closer, he reached out and touched her arm and gave her a small shake. She jumped and gasped, once she looked up and saw Blaine she turned over and pulled the covers up to hide her face.

"Blaine what are you doing here?" she yelled through her blanket.

"I-I came to see if you were okay." He said softly trying to calm her down.

"I'm fine now please just go, I don't want you to see me like this!" She yelled back.

"It's alright Isabelle I saw…" Her eyes went wide when he said that.

"Oh god! Please just go I promise I'll talk when I don't look l-like this." Blaine could hear the quiver of emotion in her voice.

"Isabelle you look fine, you can talk to me." He soothed and rubbed her shoulder through the thick comforter.

"N-no Blaine I don't look fine! Jus-Just please go I'll come b-y later and explain, I promise." Isabelle was sobbing now Blaine took the hint; whatever Isabelle had to talk about must be serious.

"Alright Izzy but I just want you to know that you're my best friend and I will never ever judge you. Okay?" He saw her nod under the sheets; he sighed and headed out the room. Once he got downstairs he said a quick goodbye to Rosalind and opened the door, suddenly he was facing Kurt Hummel.
