“Good rehearsal,” Blaine said with a smile, Kurt couldn’t help but giggle a bit. The sound he noticed, brought and even bigger smile to Blaine’s face.
“You’re adorable,” he said reaching over to stroke Kurt’s hand. The slight touch sent sparks up and down his arms, making his hairs stand straight.
Kurt reached out to fix some of Blaine’s hair that had been messed up from their “practicing”, a job that proved harder that he thought because of his massive amount of gel use. Kurt lowered his hand. He felt a sharp pain in his hand. He had completely forgotten about the bedazzling kit he had to table for the casket. Blaine dropped the hand of Kurt’s he had been holding to take his injured one. A little bit of blood fell from Kurt index finger and Kurt winced a little bit at the sight.
“Come on,” Blaine said pulling Kurt up with him, “I have a first aid kit in my room.”
Blaine never dropped Kurt’s hand as they walked down the halls. Kurt noticed the spiral staircase he had walked down his first day here, but more importantly, where he and Blaine had met for the first time. Blaine seemed to be doing the same thing, because when he saw Kurt looking he smiled at him, Kurt instantly turned red. Blaine let out a short laugh and proceeded to pull Kurt up the steps. He stopped at the small flat part in the middle of the steps and turned to Kurt.
“Sorry, I know your finger is bugging you, but I just wanted to do this,” Blaine leaned in and kissed Kurt again, soft and sweet, and then pulled away. Kurt let out a sigh.
“Sorry,” Blaine apologized again, “I just felt like I should do that, you know since I was too stupid not to do it the moment I met you.”
Kurt was sure his face was completely red at this point but Blaine did not seem to care. Blaine pulled Kurt up the remaining steps to his room. Kurt had been in Blaine’s room a couple of times but this time he took everything in. His bed wasn’t made, the covers just pulled up to give the appearance of cleanliness. His laptop was on his desk, on the screen saver. Kurt noticed most of the pictures had him somehow involved.
“Have a seat,” Blaine said motioning to the bed and releasing Kurt’s hand. He noticed his hand suddenly felt colder without the pressure of Blaine’s hand on his. He sat down on his bed cradling his injured hand while he listened to Blaine rummaging around in his bathroom. He heard a sound of victory from the direction of Blaine and looked up to see him walking out with a box with a giant red X on it. Blaine sat down next to Kurt, and placed the box on his lap. He unsnapped the lid and started rummaging around and produced a tube of Neosporin and a string of band aids.
“Now,” Blaine said as he dabbed Kurt’s finger with the wet washcloth he had brought out with the first aid kit, “I have a very important question for you Kurt.”
Kurt’s breathe hitched, “Is he going to ask me out?” he wondered to himself. He did his best to compose himself before he spoke, “Yes?”
Blaine looked Kurt in the eyes a slight smile on his face “Kurt,” Blaine looked down at their interlinked hands before looking back up at Kurt, “Transformers or Hello Kitty?”
“What?” Kurt stated before how could composed himself.
“Transformers or Hello Kitty?” Blaine asked holding up the string on band aids so Kurt could see, he had noticed the smile on Blaine’s face had gotten bigger throughout their conversation.
“Oh ah, Transformers,” Kurt stated bluntly looking at Blaine.
“Very manly,” Blaine grinned as he undid the wrapping of the band aid. He removed it from the paper and placed it around Kurt’s finger careful not to make it too tight. He put the newly banged finger to his lips and placed a soft kiss to it. They looked each other in the eyes for a moment, just studying each other. Kurt looked at the contours of Blaine’s face, his blazing hazel eyes that looked silver when he light hit them just right, his light scruff, and the restricted curls. Kurt had never thought he would ever see something so beautiful in his entire life.
Blaine than decided it was time to break the silence, “So, I think because of your massive blood loss, you should really eat something.”
Kurt laughed a bit, “Oh really”
“Yeah, I mean look,” he motioned to Kurt’s finger, “There was a lot lost, you need to regain your strength.”
“Blaine,” Kurt said making him stop his rambling.
“Yeah,” Blaine said looking at Kurt intensively.
“I would love to get dinner with you.”
They had decided to meet at the bottom the staircase for dinner. Kurt had no idea where they were Blaine had just told him to get changed and show up, no details. Kurt was never early for anything ever but he had rushed to try to be early for this. He wore one of normal outfits, a pair of skinny jeans. Knee high boots, and tan button down and a red skinny tie. He had fixed his hair to perfection in record time (Blaine had only given him 20 minutes to get ready).
“Ready?” Blaine asked from behind him. Kurt spun around in shock to face Blaine. He had changed into a pair of jeans, a black polo and a bow tie? Kurt had to admit the bow tie looked extremely good.
“Yeah,” Kurt answered. He noticed that Blaine had once-overed Kurt about 20 times since he turned around.
Blaine took Kurt’s hand and led him out the doors toward Kurt’s navigator. He opened the driver’s side door for him.
“You look amazing,” Blaine said as he helped Kurt into the car. He closed the door and proceeded to walk around to the passenger’s side.
“So you do,” Kurt said to Blaine as he got in the car, Blaine gave a dorky grin.
“So where are we going?” Kurt asked, “I’m not sure if this is a surprise but I kind of need to know since I am driving.”
Blaine laughed nervously, before answering. “Well uh, I was thinking breadsticks, I’ve never been there and all the guys talk about it like it’s the greatest thing ever.”
Kurt nodded his head, “Believe it or not, their breadsticks suck.”
He heard Blaine starting to laugh and joined in with him, “Even if that is the case, any place where you are I’m fine with.”
Kurt rolled his eyes as he blushed for about the 20th time that day “All right, breadsticks it is.”
They arrived at Breadsticks and were seating right away, after all it was a weekday at 6:00 so the dinner rush had left, and there were only a couple people scatted throughout the restaurant. They sat across from each other. Kurt looked at the menu and scoffed. Blaine raised an eyebrow.
“Empty carbs,” Kurt stated answering his unasked question.
Blaine laughed nervously, “I figured you would say that.”
It was Kurt’s turn to ask questions, “Blaine?”
Blaine looked up at him the light hitting his eyes just right making them look silver, Kurt almost melted, “What’s going on here?”
Blaine looked shocked, “I thought we were on a date.” He answered like it should have been obvious.
Kurt smiled and looked down. Was this really happening? Today had been such a whirlwind and to think he was on date with Blaine, with Blaine, the person he had been in loved with, who he had watched sing together guy and make out with Rachel Berry, was now sitting across from him, and they were on date.
“Finally,” Kurt let slip, he covered his mouth suddenly, not looking down at his menu again, “Sorry,” he said quietly.
“No,” Blaine said bluntly, “Don’t be sorry, Kurt you have nothing to be sorry for, I was stupid for waiting as long as I did, for making you wait as long as you did.”
Kurt smirked, “Its ok, it all worked out in my favor in the end.”
“Mine too,” Blaine said taking Kurt’s hand, “Now, about Candles.”
