Author's Notes: Beginning is sort of an intro to where they are "now" and then we dive into a flashback sort of storyline.
Kurt didn't like to think of how it happened. Sure, it had brought him and Blaine much closer, made them even stronger, and they had all but forgotten about it. But when he had to see the stupid face of the stupid idiot who caused it all, Kurt remembered vividly and a heavy feeling of guilt still settled in his stomach.
Kurt hugged his dad close once more before turning and catching Blaine's hand to pull him along through the airport security gate. Finally, they were both leaving Ohio and they were together, never to be separated by anything but their own will again.
Check in for the flight continued without a hitch (thank whatever may or may not be out there because Kurt just wanted this part of the day to be over, and to get back to New York with his boyfriend and be able to breathe!) and he and Blaine were sitting in the hard plastic chairs, side by side, waiting for their flight to be called.
Sitting close, feeling Blaine by him, Kurt couldn't help but think about what had happened over the summer, and how lucky they bother were to be here together.
