Day 1: Introduction
“Dad. This is my boyfriend. Blaine.” Kurt breathed, standing in front of his father for the first time, showing off his boyfriend. Blaine and Kurt had been officially dating for almost two weeks. Two weeks from their kiss in the Warblers common room, and their duet. Kurt had never been happier.
“Hey, aren’t you that kid I found in Kurt’s bed a couple weeks ago?” Burt tipped his chin up at Blaine, smiling a little. After Rachel’s drinking party, Kurt had invited Blaine to spend the night. Well more like dragged him to his bed and told him he wasn’t driving home in his condition. Burt knew all of this, but hey, why not have a little fun with his son’s new boyfriend?
“Y-yes sir. But Kurt and I didn’t do anything, I swear. I would never pressure him.” Blaine said quickly, blush creeping onto his cheeks. Kurt laughed and squeezed his hand.
“It’s okay, Blaine, my dad knows everything.”
“Oh…okay..” he says slowly, looking embarrassed. Burt just chuckled.
“So, you and Kurt, huh?” Blaine nodded and replied with a ‘yes sir.’ “Do you drink a lot?”
“That was my first time, sir. I don’t make a habit of appearing unkempt.”
Kurt smiled, it was going good so far. They had braved Kurt’s dad, and that was a huge step for Kurt, even if he knew his dad would be okay with it.
“You can call me Burt.” Burt laughed, clapping Blaine on the back in a friendly manner. “What’d you say you’re last name was again?”
“Anderson. Blaine Anderson, sir. I mean Burt.” Blaine stuck his hand out and Burt shook it firmly. Kurt was a little embarrassed. Who shook their boyfriend’s father’s hand anymore? But Blaine was the perfect gentleman and would do whatever it took to get in good graces with Kurt’s family.
“Well, it’s nice to meet you, Blaine Anderson.” Kurt beamed.
The introduction with Kurt’s dad had gone over well with Blaine, but now it was time to tell Blaine’s parents. Blaine was terrified. Neither of his parents seemed all the okay with him being gay. His dad always talked down on it, so he never thought of introducing any of his boyfriends to his parents. Not until Kurt Hummel that is.
Kurt was special. Blaine could see it; he could feel it. Kurt had this sort of radiance about him, one that made him seem like he was better than anyone else in the world, even if Kurt didn’t feel that he was. He was so humble, and caring. But yet, he had this snarky attitude with anyone who got in his way, like Rachel Berry for example.
Blaine wanted to show him off to the world, and his parents, unfortunately for him, were part of ‘everyone.’
They entered the house warily, Blaine holding tightly to his boyfriend’s hand. Kurt had his back, even if it had everything to do with Kurt in the first place.
“Mom? Dad?” Blaine called, catching sight of his mother in the kitchen and his father sitting in the den. Both of them made their way into the room when Blaine called out he brought company. Suddenly, Kurt was looking very shy, as he looked toward Blaine for comfort.
“Why, hello there, dear.” Mrs. Anderson cooed when she saw Kurt. She became more interested when she saw their hands, locked tightly together in a very couple-like embrace.
“Hello, Mrs. Anderson.” Kurt replied politely, glancing at Blaine from the corner of his eye. This was it. Blaine had to do it now. Taking a deep breath, he spoke bravely to his parents.
“This is Kurt Hummel. He’s my..my boyfriend.”
Both parents looked shocked, not because they didn’t know he was gay, but because they never suspected they’d be meeting a boyfriend.
“Boyfriend?” His father asked loudly. “I thought you were better than that, son.” he shook his head and started to walk away, but his wife called after him.
“At least say something nice?” She asked timidly, looking between her son and husband.
“Nice to meet you…Kurt.” he nodded, sipping his drink and walking out of the room. Mrs. Anderson fussed over both boys.
“Oh, that’s so perfect. Blaine, I can’t believe I finally get to meet a boyfriend of yours!” She gushed, patting both boys and hugging them tightly. “You see, Kurt, Blaine’s never introduced me to any of his boyfriends. It’s such an honor to meet you!”
Kurt held back a laugh as he buried his face subconsciously in Blaine’s shoulder. Mrs. Anderson thought that was just the cutest thing. Blaine was so embarrassed. Here they were, 17 years old and being fussed over like they were 13 and going out for the first time.
“Mom, Kurt and I are gonna go now. We’re supposed to meet some friends.” he lied, tugging on Kurt’s arm and leaning toward the door. His boyfriend quickly followed.
“It was nice to meet you, dear!” she shouted as they finally escaped the house. Colapsing in Kurt’s navigator, they fell into a fit of giggles.
“You’re mom’s crazy, no offense.” Kurt ran his thumb over Blaine’s knuckles. Blaine looked at him and smiled.
“Yeah, she is. But at least she accepts you.” He whispered, leaning in to kiss Kurt deeply. They didn’t spend much time kissing, honestly. They were still in that stage, where everything was new and they were still rather slow to show much affection.
“It’s nice to feel accepted.” Kurt murmured, kissing him again.
