“I can see it being inspirational in a way, I mean you get to see so many things just sitting in a coffee shop and I bet there are tonnes of great songs out there written purely centered about coffee.” Kurt added a little shrug before taking another long drink, smiling into the cup. The drama student lifted an eyebrow skeptically before he leant forwards slightly, folding his hands on the table in front of him. “If it turns out to be a masterpiece, you’re going to get such a ‘told you so’ speech from me, just a warning.” Kurt couldn’t help but open his mouth a little in a silent ‘ah’ before relaxing back into the seat, folding his long legs under the table despite it not being quite high enough and his knee was squished up against the top. “Well hopefully your duet partner’s voice will be woken up by the coffee enough to help you finish it off,” Kurt added with a slight raise of his eyebrows and slightly pout of his lips before returning to his coffee, gratefully feeling the effects of the caffeine already.
Blaine set his cup back on the table as his free hand rested against the wooden surface with his fingers tapping at a seemingly random pattern, though he subconsciously knew full well what rhythm they were staying in sync with. Other then the song he had just wrapped up their was another tune he couldn’t seem to get out of his head. It was one of his all-time favorites, and at that moment in time his fingers couldn’t help but move gently against the table top in a simple imaginary chord scale. While his subconscious had his hand tapping away his mind simultaneously was elsewhere, focused on the male in front of him. He wasn’t really one to judge or assume anything about someone, which was probably why he had no idea that was gay. Even if somebody had told him that he still wouldn’t have believed them simply because of two reasons; one, he didn’t exactly always believe what people told him, and two, who cared? If he liked guys then he liked guys, it shouldn’t be that big of a deal, and to be honest he didn’t think people should go ahead and label people to such a strict ideal anyways.
“Best non-fat mocha? Hmm, I almost feel honored for you to say that, even if I don’t work here,” he smiled lightly, “But I’m sure Jen wouldn’t mind another helper. The last barista…well she just graduated so she’s not here anymore,” he said the last part with a heavy undertone. He may or may not have had a thing with the last student who worked here, but he quickly pushed the painful thought aside. Blaine tugged at his collar with a little force, he didn’t think it was all that much until it had undone another button towards the top. He glanced at it nonchalantly and went back to drinking his coffee. His eyes wandered over Kurt as he leaned closer to him, and for some reason Blaine could feel himself barely reciprocating the movement. He laughed, “I doubt you’ll be telling that speech. And I’m sure my duet partner will sound lovely, whether he’s fully awake or not.”
