Kurt drew in a sharp breath as he heard his name called and stopped definitely in his tracks, not quite turning around just yet so he could compose himself fully again. He turned slowly, plastering a half smile, half questioning look on his face - well as far as he could decide that’s what it was - and couldn’t help to all but stare at Blaine. He took the ticket gently, keeping it extended out as he registered everything. He could say no, say he was working and that he sincerely hoped that Blaine enjoyed it and that he had to report back as soon as it was over. Or he could accept. He could go and spend the entire time trying to ignore the fact he was going to see his favorite musical with Blaine Anderson of all people. Just the two of them. But it was purely platonic and for educational purposes. Kurt closed his eyes for a brief moment, rolling his bottom lip between his teeth before smiling gently and pocketing the ticket for safe keeping. “I’d love to.” The actor’s smile faltered just a little as he looked at Blaine again. “Are you sure? I mean you could take anyone at all and I’m sure you’d have just as good of a time, if not better… I can get incredibly annoying over it…” He gave a small nervous laugh again before shaking his head and rubbing the back of his neck. “Thanks.” He could feel that need to just blurt everything out again, but honestly he wanted Blaine to see it and then, well maybe he’d get some courage to hint and not exactly just directly say it out loud and so fought against it, looking at the bar over his shoulder. “Are you sure you don’t want me to keep you company on the way back to the dorms? I quite fancy delaying the inevitable.”

Blaine watched Kurt as he took the ticket from him, noticing the hesitant look on his face, probably wondering if he should take it or not. He smiled timidly, hoping that he’d actually decide to go with him because honestly who else would he go with? But even if he did have someone else to take, nobody would appreciate the musical nearly as much as Kurt would, and he enjoyed spending time with him so really there was no downside to it…well maybe not entirely. When he said he’d love to Blaine’s smile brightened exponentially, “…cool,” he managed to get out, a little too excited and nervous all at the same time. When he continued talking though he quickly shook his head, holding the smile perfectly on his lips, “I want to take you, because I know for a fact that you will enjoy it and I will enjoy being with you,” he replied kindly, though after a moment he realized how else it might have sounded. Blaine cleared his throat and lowered his eyes, mustering a “You are welcome” as he shifted his weight from one foot to another. He shrugged his shoulders once more before glancing up at Kurt, “I don’t want you to get in more trouble…and I’m sorry about that, by the way. I can talk to your boss or manager or whatever if you want,” he said, feeling kind of bad for the situation his friend had been put in, because now he most likely would be fired from his job simply because he came looking for him.
