“Blaine?” he questioned softly, wondering where the boy was going.
He turned around, being careful not to drop his sister and just gave him a look. His brow slightly furrowed, and yet his eyes were completely soft. It was a look that told Kurt that Blaine had seen enough and he was going to get his sister out of there before someone else could hurt her. A look that showed utter love and devotion to the small girl in his arms. Blaine nodded his head toward the door, turned around and walked out.
Kurt understood. He wanted to go out there and be there for both of them, but the ignorant little boy in the corner who needed a good talking too. Kurt sighed as his shoulders collapsed in on him for a second. His first day as a sub was going no better than his first day as a teacher. He straightened up as he turned around and found the little boy from earlier waiting in the corner with an incredibly disgusted look plastered on his face. As Kurt walked toward him, he noticed the boy’s face turn from disgust to fear.
“What’s your name?” Kurt asked harshly as he placed his hands on his hips and gave the boy a menacing look.
“J-Joel,” the boy stammered as he tilted his head up as far as he could to look at his sub in the eyes.
Kurt let out a sigh, closing his eyes and bringing his hands up to rub his temples. He hated ignorant people, but he remembered this person was a child. The kid had more than likely learned his behavior from someone older and much more ignorant. He opened his eyes and knelt down to meet the kid face-to-face.
“Well – Joel, why may I ask where you pulling Michelle’s hair?” He raised his eyebrow.
“Well m-my brother told me that h-her brother was a fag an-nd that she was stupid for not hating him and for loving him.” The boy seemed to loosen up a bit, but still looked like he would need a change of pants soon.
“Joel,” the brunet sighed as he began, “do even you know what a ‘fag’ is?”
The little blonde boy furrowed his brow as his green eyes stared at Kurt, with red cheeks and a look that can only be described as embarrassment and anger mixed together. The boy stood up and crossed his arms over his chest as he huffed in Kurt’s face.
“Of course I do! Ethan says a fag is a person who is disgusting and tries to get you to like other boys and kiss him.”
Kurt couldn’t believe that his boy had the nerve to yell in his face. He was like, three feet tall and as skinny as him and about 14 years his junior. Kurt was not in the mood for this. He was about to smack an eight-year-old, so he did the only thing he could think of to keep him out of jail.
“Young man, you are going to go straight to the principal’s office,” he snapped, “and you will stay there until your teacher comes and gets you. Now move it, and if you see Michelle out there you better apologize to her.” He pointed towards the door.
Joel huffed once more as he stomped out of the room. Kurt sighed with relief that it was over. He straightened up and turned around to be met with some curious faces. He gulped hard as he walked to the middle of the room.
“Okay, guys, let’s sing a bit, shall we?” He smiled brightly.
“Yeah!” they all yelled and smiled back.
The brunet walked over to the piano, cracked his knuckles and began to play.

As Blaine walked out the door with his sister in his arms, he told himself not to break down, not here. One of them had to be strong, and he knew he had to be strong for her. When he heard the classroom door click shut behind them, he set her down in the empty hallway. She stumbled a bit trying to catch her balance but Blaine caught her. He placed his hands on her shoulders and knelt down.
“Hey, Michelle, are you okay?” he asked.
She brought her hand up to her face to wipe her nose on her sleeve.
“Y-y-yes…” she stammered softly.
Her brother gave her a soft sad smile as he pulled her into a tight hug.
“I’m so sorry, baby sis.” Blaine started to cry as he stroked one hand through her hair.
Michelle let out a sob as a new wave of tears spilled from her eyes onto her brother’s jacket.
“B-Blaine, what are you doing here?” she whispered.
He pulled back from the hug, wiping the tears off his face. He grinned at her.
“I came to visit my favorite little sister of course.” He gave a soft laugh and she smiled as he brought a hand up to wipe her face off.
“I’m your only sister.” She gave him a soft smile “A-and dad said you weren’t allowed to come here anymore.”
“What he doesn’t know won’t hurt him. So can we keep this between you and me, Shell?” The hazel-eyed gave her a broad smile as he stuck his pinky out.
His sister smiled and locked her pinky with his. “Of course we can, Blainers.”
“Good, because that way he won’t know about…THIS!” Blaine yelled as he grabbed her and tucked her in his arms while he tickled her until she was in a fit of giggles.
“B-Bl,” she tried to yell between laughs, “BLAINERS, STOP IT!!!”
He kept tickling her, both of them thrown into a fit of laughter. They didn’t notice the door open behind them. They both jumped out of their skin when they heard a throat being cleared.
Michelle grabbed onto Blaine and tucked her head into his stomach. Blaine turned around to see the little boy who had pulled his sister’s hair. He frowned seeing the boy looking just as angry as he felt. Blaine stood up, pulling his sister up with him. He held Michelle close as he got a little closer to the boy, who now looked at Blaine like he was the boogieman.
“What do you want?” the older spat.
The boy lowered his head. “I-I wanted t-to say s-sorry.” He sniffled a bit.
Blaine sighed as he pulled Michelle off of him gently so she could face the little boy. She looked up quickly at Blaine before slowly turning her eyes to face Joel.
“Michelle, I-I-I’m sorry.” He brought his head up to look her in the eye.
She stared into his beautiful green eyes as a faint blush colored her cheeks.
“Okay,” she whispered.
The boy gave her a small smile before heading down the hallway to the principal’s office.
Michelle didn’t move until she felt Blaine kneel down on her level. She looked him straight in the eyes and beamed. Her brother gave her a curious look.
“You like him, don’t you?” he asked.
She laughed. “Blainers, you know boys are icky.”
He smiled as he pulled her in for a hug. “Yes, yes they are.”
They both laughed.
Blaine pulled away when he heard the sound of music drifting out of the room behind them. He slowly stood up, trying to focus on the song being played on the piano. Michelle gently grabbed his hand and led him toward the door. She reached out and grabbed the handle, pushing the door open. She tugged her brother into the doorway where he froze. He had never seen anything more beautiful in his life. __________________________________________________________________
Kurt smiled as he played the very familiar twinkle twinkle little star tune, while the kids began to sing. He couldn’t help but to think of how much he missed singing with his glee club back in high school; so many different voice blending to make one magnificent song come to life.
Even though it was just a simple children’s song, the blue-eyed couldn’t help but be reminded of how music and singing with a group was once a big part of his life, and though he still had dreams of gracing a Broadway stage one day, music had taken a backseat in college. It had become more of a job than his passion. Watching these kids sing their little hearts out made him believe that maybe he could find his passion for music again.
His smile couldn’t get any bigger as he changed to “Mary Had a Little Lamb.” He was overcome by how cute they all looked and sounded. He didn’t hear the door open. After the song had ended he felt someone poke him in the side, and he turned to see Michelle wearing a bright grin. She quickly wrapped her arms around his waist for a short hug and then joined the others on the risers. The older boy laughed as she bounced over to the other kids. As he turned his head to check the time, his eyes caught sight of Blaine standing in the doorway.
The boy had a goofy smile on his face as he stared at Kurt. The brunet averted his gaze to the clock, trying to hide the red heat spreading across his face. He cleared his throat, trying to focus on the time. Mr. St. James would be back any minute now.
He sighed, hating that his time with these kids had been consumed with hatred and crying. He stood up and walked to center of the room.
“Class, I wanted to say you guys were very good today. We had a rocky start but I can’t wait to see you guys tomorrow.” He gave them a big smile, which they all returned.
He turned to the doorway, now empty, and then looked around the room until he found Blaine sitting at Rachel’s desk. The boy had his eyes closed with his feet up on the desk as if he had dozed off in the last two minutes. He found himself staring at the boy’s black eye again. He scowled at it. He really wanted to know what happened. Kurt was brought back to reality with a loud knock at the door.
He turned to find Mr. St. James leering at him from the doorway. He sighed. This prick really needs to leave me alone, he thought before putting on the fakest smile he could manage and walked over to the other man.
“How were my kids today?” Mr. St. James asked with a smug smile on his face.
“Perfect. Well, all except one.” Kurt gave a smirk. As he elaborated on what happened, he watched as Mr. St. James’ face went from smug pride to something along the lines of horror by the time Kurt was done.
“I’m so sorry, Kurt. I will deal with them right away,” Jesse said with a pleading look.
“No. It wasn’t their fault. It was just Joel’s. Even then I don’t blame him, but I do blame his ignorant brother.” Kurt scowled at the thought of the incident.
“Okay, well I’ll be sure to have a talk with Joel and his parents,” Jesse replied. “You shouldn’t have to go through anything like this.” He gave a wink and a conceited smile.
Kurt fought back the urge to roll his eyes. It was time for Mr. St. James to leave.
“Okay, class! Line up, please, and have a good day! I will see you guys tomorrow!” he yelled as he walked away from the other teacher and walked over to Blaine.
As the class filed out, he turned to see Jesse give him one final wink. When the door shut he looked at a wide-awake Blaine staring at him.
Kurt gave a sigh. “Hi,” he said.
Blaine’s eyebrow rose in curiosity. “Hello,” he answered.
“We need to talk.”
It was Blaine’s turn to sigh. “I was wondering when this would happen.”

I love seeing Blaine's relationship with his little sister. Like no-one matters more to him than her. He's the one person he can be himself around. I love guys like that. Can't wait for the next chapter!
I couldn't agree with you more. Blaine and Michelle scenes are forever going to be my favorite to write. Don't get me wrong I love writing Klaine, but I love Blaine showing his true colors with her. :) also thanks for the review I just woke up and it definitely made my day :)
