Blaine was not so patiently waiting by the front door jumping around, whining and telling his mother to hurry up or they would be late.

"Mummy, hurry up Kurt and his parents will be waiting for us."

"Blaine, it's only 4:30pm and we have to get there by 5:30pm so we have an hour and it's only a 5 minute drive. Don't rush me." Nancy loved her son to death but sometimes he could be a real pain in the butt.

"I knowwwwww but-but I want to get there early so Kurt and I can play before dinner"

"Ok ok we'll leave s-" Nancy was cut off by a loud thumping on the front door. Nancy walked to the door looking confused but she opened it, surprised with who she saw.

"John, what are you doing here?" Nancy was surprised to see her now ex-husband standing on her front porch drunk.

"H-hi N-nancy. M-miss m-me?" he stuttered. Nancy stumbled back inside trying to shut the door but it was too late, John already had his foot in the door and it wouldn't close. Nancy was getting worried because she knew that her ex-husband was a violent and aggressive drunk, both she and Blaine had gotten more than one bruise from him in this state.

"BLAINE!" Nancy screamed to Blaine who had slowly walked away from the door after hearing his father's druken state. "BLAINE, GO AND CALL MR HUMMEL AND TELL HIM TO COME QUICKLY!"

Blaine took off as fast as he could to the telephone to call Kurt's Dad. He picked up the phone and dialled the number.

"Hi, you have reached the Hummel residence please leave a message after the beep and we will return your call" said Mrs Hummel through the automated answering machine. "H-help me please, my D-daddy came back and and he is d-drunk." Blaine told the answering machine. Then Blaine heard his mother scream and then heard muffled cries so he ran towards the front door where his mother was.

"Mummy. Mummy. What's wrong?" Blaine shouted rounding the corner. Blaine was met with a sight that could never be unseen. This sight would scar the 6 year old for life. His mother was on the floor bleeding from her head and she had a large gash on her stomach with his father standing above her looking down at her limp body on the floor. Blaine didn't know what to do he was frozen on the spot. John looked up and saw Blaine, his eyes widened and he ran towards Blaine but Blaine ran out the back door and towards the woods.

Blaine ran as fast as he could and it was getting dark so he couldn't see much under the canopy of trees but he just kept running until he got to the stream. He hid behind a shrub for a long while and he didn't hear his Dad coming so he got up and headed in the direction he thought was Kurt's house.

Elizabeth had arrived home after a few hours with Kurt after going to the shops to get some ingredients she forgot to buy the previous day and Burt was still at work but would be home in the next 15 minutes. Kurt went to play in his room and set up his tea party set while he waited for Blaine and his Mummy to arrive. Elizabeth saw the answering machine light in the corner of her eye flash and went to press play. Blaine's scared and frightful voice filled the room.

"H-help me please, my D-daddy came back and and he is d-drunk." Elizabeth's eyes began to tear up and a lone tear fell down her face. Blaine sounded so scared and distraught and then that's when her mother instincts kicked in.

"Kurt!" she called from downstairs, wiping at her eyes "Baby, will you be ok here for 15 minutes?" Elizabeth trusted her boy and she needed to help Blaine and Nancy before it was too late.

"Ummm, I guess so" Kurt asked worryingly; looking at his mother's distraught face.

"Ok I will be back soon and don't answer the door to anybody." Elizabeth ran out the door not telling Kurt what had happened.

Elizabeth jumped into her car and sped over to the Anderson household calling Burt along the way.

"Burt! Something has happened at the Anderson's, Blaine's father was there and he was drunk and I think it's bad and I left Kurt at home and I'm going to check it out" Elizabeth took a breath.

"Lizzie! Are you nuts? Get back home right now and stay with Kurt, I will go to the Anderson's and suss it out. Don't you dare go there we don't need you injured as well."

"Ok but hurry, I have a bad feeling about this."

Blaine had been walking slowly and quietly towards Kurt's house for what felt like 5 hours. He didn't really know where he was going. He had only gone this way to Kurt's house once or twice with Kurt and he kinda forgot the way. Blaine saw road up ahead and started to run towards it so that he could tell where he was. He saw a car coming towards him with the indicator on and starting to pull over but the lights were too bright to make out whose car it actually was.
