"Help!"
"What happened?" Blaine asked while he was trying to pull the boy out of the river.
"I was reaching for a stick to draw in the dirt with and I fell in" Blaine was trying with all hte power a 6 year old could muster up in order to help this beautiful boy out of the river. But it was no use, he wasn't strong enough.
"I can't get you out. I need to go get my mummy maybe she can help"
"Ok, but hurry I don't know how much longer I can hold on"
"What's your name?"
"Kurt"
"Mine's Blaine"
Blaine quickly left running faster than he has ever run in his short life.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Blaine arrived home in a record time and he ran into the study where his mother was working.
"MUMMY! MUMMY!" Blaine screamed exhaustedly at the top of his lungs.
"Blaine, what's wrong?"
"Quick Mummy! There's no time to explain come with me!"
"Blaine, wh – "Nancy was cut off by her son pulling her out of the house. She just had enough time to grab her mobile phone and house keys.
They both ran into the woods and Nancy was getting more worried by the second until Blaine started to tell her what happened when he first arrived in the woods.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"Blaine, why are we running? Is this one of your imaginary games?"
"No mummy, there is a boy in the river holding onto a log and he's going to float away if we don't help him"
"Which boy?"
"The one with the nice blue eyes"
His mother was even more worried because she didn't know how long the boy had been holding onto the log, or if he was even still there.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Blaine and Nancy eventually arrived at the spot where Blaine last saw Kurt. Kurt was there and he was holding on but just, he was just about to slip and Blaine pulled his mother even faster towards Kurt and Nancy grabbed a hold of Kurt's hand just as he let go of the log and she dragged him out of the water. Kurt was crying and he leapt up and tackled Blaine in a hug, Blaine just held him.
"Everything's going to be ok now, you're safe" Blaine cooed.
"T- Thanks B-Blaine, y-you s-s-saved my l-life" Nancy watched the two young boys with a huge smile on her face.
"What's your name dear?" Nancy asked
"M-my name's K-Kurt" he said still scared and whimpering.
"Ok Kurt, we should get you home now so you can get into some dry clothes. Can you tell us the way?"
Kurt just nodded.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Kurt was very tired and so Nancy gave carried him back to their house, she didn't mind getting wet just as long as the boy was safe. She couldn't imagine what would happen if it was Blaine out there all alone. Nancy was talking to Kurt but he wasn't replying, he had fallen asleep in her arms. Nancy had to agree with her son he did have beautiful eyes even when they were filled with sheer terror. She had to slowly wake him up because Blaine didn't know where Kurt lived and neither did she. Nancy slowly put Kurt down onto the couch and then sat down beside him soon after she put him on her lap. He was still asleep and she smiled at him softly before attempting to wake him up slowly. Blaine stood behind his mother watching on with a small smirk on his face at how cute Kurt looked when he slept.
"Kurt honey" Nancy said quietly as if not actually wanting to wake up the beautiful child. She softly stroked his bangs off his face. "You have to wake up, Blaine and I don't know where you live and you must be freezing cold in those wet clothes"
Kurt slowly stirred and awoke with the look of fear in his eyes. "Where am I? Who are you? Where's Blaine?"
"You are at our house and because you were about to be swept away down the river, I am Nancy Blaine's mummy and Blaine is-"
"Right here" said Blaine stepping into Kurt's view, his smile reaching from eye to eye.
"Where do you live Kurt?" Nancy questioned.
"I live in Lima"
"Oh okay so not too far from here. How about I run a nice warm bath for you and I'll get some of Blaine's clothes for you to wear, so you don't catch a cold."
"Thank you Blaine's mum"
"Please call me Nancy" she smiled and turned to Blaine. "Blaine. Keep our guest company while I go to get the bath and clothes prepared"
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nancy left the room and gave Kurt a blanket to keep warm until she got everything ready. Kurt sat there awkwardly not really knowing what to do before Blaine sat next to Kurt and looked at him.
"Hi Kurt"
Kurt nodded and smiled at Blaine.
"Why did you run away when I first saw you?"
Kurt shrugged his shoulders.
"Why aren't you talking?"
"Why are you asking so many questions?" Kurt snapped.
"Because I'm trying to get to know you and I want to know why you ran away"
"I ran away because you scared me and I was embarrassed because you probably heard me singing"
"But your voice is beautiful" Blaine complimented and Kurt's face reddened in embarrassment.
"Yeah but. It was still embarrassing; I didn't expect to see anyone in the woods that day"
"I went to the woods everyday for a whole week but you weren't there" Kurt looked at Blaine in shock because he was surprised that someone was looking for him. Usually the kids just teased him for having pretend tea parties with his teddies.
"Why were you looking for me?" Kurt asked shyly, looking at his shoes as if they were suddenly interesting.
"I was looking for you because I wanted to be your friend and tell you that you have pretty eyes and a beautiful voice"
Kurt's head shot up when Blaine mentioned being friends.
"Why would you want to be my friend? No one ever wants to be my friend because they think I'm different because I don't like to do boys stuff"
"I dunno why I wanted to be your friend, I just did. Plus I don't do normal boys stuff either that's why I only have two friends. Everyone else thinks I'm weird because I like wizards, witches and I save a prince instead of a princess."
"I don't think that's weird, I like wizards too, my mummy sometimes reads me books called Harry Potter" Kurt said excitedly.
"Really?" Blaine said excitedly. "My mummy reads me those too!"
"What! How cool."
"Kurt" Nancy called from upstairs. "Time for a bath"
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Kurt ran towards the voice and hopped into the bath tub. Blaine went to play in his room with his toys while Kurt had a bath. Nancy sat there talking to Kurt and supervising the bath because you don't leave kids unsupervised in the bath, obviously.
"So Kurt. How old are you?"
"I'm six" Kurt said proudly.
"Oh, same age as Blaine then" said Nancy. "Do you live with your Mummy and Daddy?"
"Yes, I love my Mummy and Daddy" Nancy smiled at this adorable child.
"Do your Mummy and Daddy work?"
"Yes, my Mummy is an artist and my Daddy is a me-me-car fixer" He said after giving up on that hard word he could never remember. Nancy laughed.
"Do you mean Mechanic?"
"Yeah that" Kurt smiled shyly.
Nancy continued asking Kurt questions and he answered them until he got asked a question he didn't quite know the answer to.
"Why were you out there all alone in the woods?"
"I- ummmm- I – I dunno"
"Did your Mummy and Daddy know you were going to the woods?"
"I think so. I told my Mummy that I was going for a walk"
"Ok at least you told her you were going out. Why did you go for a walk in the woods though?"
"Ummm- I just felt like I should go to the woods because last time I was there I got scared and ran home. Then my Mummy didn't let me go out for the rest of the week because I forgot to tell her I was going out and I got in trouble"
"Why were you scared?"
"A boy came up behind me and scared me, I didn't really see him before I ran away but I think it was Blaine"
"I think it was too" she smiled and this also explained why Kurt wasn't there for the rest of the week when Blaine went to the woods in search of a young boy.
Kurt had finished his bath and was clean and he put Blaine's clothes on which were a little short in the pant legs but he thinks that is because Blaine isn't as tall as him yet. After Kurt is ready Nancy and Blaine get ready to leave their house and drive him home.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nancy, Blaine and Kurt got into the car and Kurt told Nancy his address, they were soon on their way and it wasn't long before they arrived at Kurt's house. They all got out of the car and went to the front door of the house and knocked. A beautiful slender woman with familiar chestnut hair and bright blue eyes opened the door with a confused face.
"Hi. Who are you?" she said before she was nearly knocked over by her son Kurt tackling her.
"MUMMY!" Kurt exclaimed.
"Kurt. Baby what happened?" But before Kurt had the time to answer Nancy cut in to explain the whole story.
"I'm Nancy Anderson, and this is my son Blaine." Nancy went on to explain how Blaine found Kurt, how they saved him and how they had given him a warm bath and clothes so that he didn't get sick. Kurt's mum looked shocked and extremely worried and she was subconsciously holding onto Kurt tighter and tighter as the story went on.
After Nancy had explained the story Kurt's mum placed Kurt onto the floor and tightly embraced Nancy in a hug.
"Thank you so much, I don't know what I would have done if it weren't for you and your son."
"You're very welcome- Umm sorry I didn't catch your name"
"Oh gosh, how rude of me. My name is Elizabeth Hummel, but you can call me Lizzie" she smiled at Nancy and invited her in for a coffee and some cake.
"Kurt honey, why don't you take Blain to the playroom downstairs in the basement and play while I talk to Mrs Anderson.
"Okay Mummy" Kurt smiled and grabbed Blaine's hand before leading him down to the basement playroom.
"Oh aren't they just the cutest" Nancy said smiling at the two boys running off to play and then turned to look at Elizabeth.
"I know, for some reason they seem to be getting along quite well."
"Agreed. Blaine doesn't have many friends besides Wes and David. It's quite sad really. It breaks my heart."
"I know what you mean; it's the same with Kurt, he gets teased by the other kids for liking wizards, witches and for playing tea parties with his teddies. I think that it's adorable and those Harry Potter books are just so good that I can't help but read them to him and he absolutely loves them!"
"Really? I thought I was the only one reading those to my son. None of the other mothers had ever heard of the books before."
"That's absolutely fantastic. My husband and I would love for you and your husband to come over for dinner as a thank you and to get to know you better. I have a feeling that our two boys are going to be friends for a long time, Nancy."
"Sure, Blaine and I would love to come but unfortunately Blaine's father left when Blaine was 4 and a half because Blaine was 'apparently showing signs of being gay' and his father didn't like it so I told him to leave, we'd be better off without him" she said hastily.
"Oh gosh, I'm so sorry I didn't mean to assume. I'm sorry."
"No, no don't be silly. It's fine, honestly I'm happier without him. He turned so mean after Blaine said that he didn't want to ever play football he just wanted to read and write. His father called Blaine a fairy and left."
"That's horrible." Elizabeth commented shocked, soon realizing that was a tad insensitive. "Sorry, that was quite insensitive to say"
"No it's fine. He was horrible and he expected too much from Blaine. I feel sorry for him though, he doesn't have a father in his life"
"Yes, that's true but from what I can see Blaine will do just fine with you. You are a great mother and I know this because you just saved my little boys' life and then took him into your home and cared for him like your own and then even brought him to his house not the police"
"Thanks Elizabeth, you are a very kind hearted person and I can tell that we will be seeing a lot of each other."
Nancy and Elizabeth continued talking about their boys and then it was time for Nancy and Blaine to head home for dinner.
"Blaine" Nancy called from upstairs, but no reply. "Blaine" she called again. She looked to Elizabeth both had puzzled looks on their faces.
They went to the door of the basement and heard fits of laughter and giggles. They quietly opened the door to find Kurt and Blaine having a tea party in the basement and laughing at something the other had said. Nancy and Elizabeth looked to each other and shared a smile knowing that yes they would be seeing a whole lot more of each other.
"Blaine" Nancy called once again. The laughter stopped and the two boys looked to the door at their mothers standing there with smiles plastered onto their faces.
"Yes Mummy" Blaine said innocently.
"We have to get going, it's nearly dinnertime and it's getting late."Nancy explained.
"Oh" Blaine said downheartedly; his smile dropping from his face. He looked to Kurt "Bye Kurt, I hope we can see each other soon." And with that he got up and walked over to his mother pulling at her hand. Nancy crouched down to her sons level and Blaine whispered into her ear.
"Mummy, can Kurt come to play tomorrow?" Blaine whispered quietly. Nancy smiled and quietly chuckled to herself.
"Of course honey, but you might have to ask Kurt's Mummy" Nancy got up and Blaine turned to Elizabeth and asked.
"Mrs Hummel, can Kurt come over and play tomorrow?" Kurt's head shot up at the request and he looked at his mother with bright eyes as if he was also asking for permission.
"That would be lovely Blaine, thanks for asking" Elizabeth turned to Kurt. "Kurt darling, would you like to go over to the Anderson's tomorrow for a play date?"
Kurt jumped up "Yes please Mummy" Kurt ran over and hugged his mothers legs and then hugged his new friend.
Nancy and Blaine left soon after, Kurt and Blaine both couldn't wait until the next day because then they could both play tea parties again.
"Kurt, make sure you don't forget your tea set tomorrow" Blaine called out while walking to the car.
"Ok" Kurt replied smiling at the new friend he had made. Kurt was happy he had someone to play tea parties with because no one else would play them with him besides his mother, although she wasn't as good as Blaine was.
